Come, fix the problem Started by: Chuckle on Jun 02, '11 10:23

Well first of, I've gotta agree with everything you said Chuckle.

And man,Well of course we'd have to put people who knows the game well onto the street. They gotta be hardworking too and most importantly loyal and trusted. Why choose them? Cause well, if you take out one of characteristics i have suggested, it wont go well. If one knows the street and loyal, yet are slackers, you wont see much imrpovement. If you have ppl who knows teh game and are hardworking, yet not so trustable, it can lead to the downfall of the city. And well you can predict the other.

What have they done that makes them deserving of the chance?

Well if one puts enough effort, itt wouldnt be too long till they'll get noticed. Of course, its kinda like a long term thing as one may be putting ltos of efforts in a month but slowly goes downhill the next month and the followign months. So they've showed dedication too.

What would you do with the city that is so much better than what is being done by the current leaders of today in their cities?

Hmm. this . Well  i can't really say much. Cause well, what i would do needs cooperation from the members. As this game is about teamwork too, not a one man army thing.

How would you go about improving the authorisation process within your city?

Well, I'd make it more strict I guess? like raise the standard or  something

How would this improve the quality of leaders within your city?

Since the standard is higher, that means mroe work and dedication has gotta be put in, of course the quality will increase, but the quantity might suffer a little.

How would potential candidates identify themselves to you and what attributes should they have in abundance?

well the questions more for leaders, but, well, first of, they've really gotta prove themselves that they have got what it takes. They gotta be active, dedicated , one who is eager to learn, and well have passion for the game I guess? But yes, that is the most important in my opinion as well take out any of that and they wont last long if you trust themwith huge responsibility.

Well that's just my opinion:)

So what you're saying is, you lack the mental capacity to have a conversation and not let it affect you to the point where you must go and shoot someone for disagreeing with you?

That's a little sad, isn't it?

And you assume that your leaders and Godfathers are the same way? That's even sadder.

My grandfather disagreed vehemently with Godfather -Premeir on many subjects, and yet -Premeir, one of the hottest heads this world has ever seen, held calm and rational discussions with my grandfather about those disagreements.

Why don't you have the same faith in the other Godfathers to be able to do the same?

...My comment about guns blazing and shooting your mouth off attitude was about people like you who blatantly insult Bosses, Crew Leaders, and God Fathers for no real reason other than to be a pest, what did that great Japanese general say about poking a sleeping giant? I'm not saying I'd shoot you for disagreeing, I'm saying (though I'd never do it without being given the order) I'd shoot you for insulting my city's god father, and I actually trust the other God Fathers to not shoot me for speaking against their opinions more than God Father -Premier, whom I've disagreed with in the past but never seen him fire his gun over it. The problem with speaking in the streets to show your big and tough and the best in this game is you paint a big target on your back.

If you're a Godfather, you already have guns at your back. In fact, if you're a leader you already have guns at your back.

To use that as an excuse for why you refuse to speak in public is, quite frankly, beneath them as leaders.

Should leaders be expected to writer on every poster, to butt into every conversation? No, and I've never suggested otherwise. They should simple be expected to have SOME SORT of street presence. So that when they DO speak in public, we don't nearly have heart attacks from the shock.

All I'm trying to say is that not all godfathers have to be upfront and personal to be a leader, because honestly the most important thing is that my godfather knows me and the rest of my family. It's important they communicate to those that they lead. Not the rest of the populace.
That's all I'm saying.

It's not disturbing that I don't know Roman, and that I don't see him spewing leadership all over the streets. He's not my Godfather, but he is A Godfather.

(I also want to point out that the person who started the conversation about a peace treaty was my husband, and it made me laugh when you mentioned it. We both talked about it outside of this land, and decided that because there is no outside threat besides other cities i.e the police, there's no way that anyone would sacrifice the benefits of war between ilk. I think you would both get along.)

JerusalemRourke, why not cast these opinions down from up top, and maybe be looked upon as a visionary, as opposed to doing it from the bottom as a troll?

Seriously your bloodline's last moral victory was getting killed by -Premeir for disparaging the current leadership, which was spun as some proven point afterwards by their his of kin. You know who noticed? Or cared? Nobody. Well, it did get my attention, but I only bring it up now to make fun of you. You made mention of the lack of street presence from RoRoG and BGJ in another speech. I'm not here to defend them because quite frankly I don't know them, nor do I really give a shit if they speak publicly or not. But the truth is, there's nothing to stop you from rising to the top with the right connections, street saavy, and strength and setting your own standards. Why not carve a niche out for yourself and lay down your own law? Or, if you're not in a position to do that, express your opinions and/or disdain from an ivory tower on the upswing where people might respect what you say and your words may hold more weight?

Seriously I'm not sure if like you or hate your guts. Kinda leaning towards hating your guts but at least if you were speaking from a pedastel rather than from the bowels of our society, you'd see that others agree with some of your points and you could perhaps make some changes for the better. I for one might agree with you, but from a position of power you could force people to agree with you whether their agreement is genuine or not.

History has shown that anything is possible. Just today we saw the entire Cosa Nostra spend the entire day trying to kill one man. That man worked his way into a position that he was to be feared, and obviously rightfully so. Don't remember hearing much from him in the streets, but he certainly scared the shit out of me. What's to stop you from being as strong as him ammo-wise, but prolific as well in the street-sense?

Anyone can do what you're doing now. Maybe you're jaded. I don't know because I don't know you or your family history. But you're obviously passionate about This Thing of Ours, or at least were. otherwise you wouldn't be incessantly trolling the streets venting your frustrations over a world you obviously cared for once upon a time. If leadership is weak like you say it is, it shouldn't be difficult to make a rise to the top. This is coming from a man without the coffeeshop connections that many bitch about on here, whether rightfully-so or not.

One thing I heard repeatedly when Kurtz died was that "He had plans". Based on what I did know about Kurtz, and the limited knowledge I have of you, you probably had similar views. Strive to be like Kurtz, rather than what you're doing now, which is nothing.

Knowudimsayinmotherfucker?

I like where you're coming from, SexyBeast, that the only people who ever matter are leaders, that nobody else can voice their opinions or they're "trolls". Seriously, ego. In check. Get it.

I've had the opportunity of my own, I still have the opportunity of having a family of my own. I want to make this very clear: I. Don't. Want. It. If I speak my mind now, and am considered a nothing, and that my ideas are shit, somehow magically because I'm bold I'm now worth listening to? I don't think so. Ideas worth sharing are worth sharing regardless of what my rank is. You believe in listening to the message, not the messenger, which shows me that you lack the intellectual capacity to form a coherent thought on your own, that you're simply a yes man dressed up real fancy like.

Seriously, why do I have to have a family to be "a visionary"? I don't get it. My bloodline has always taken good advice when it's good advice, regardless of the source. What's to stop me from being like the late Sho or the late Kurtz? I. Don't. Want. It. I have no interest in being a crewleader, my family has been there, done that, and got the t-shirt. But does that mean I should shut up and not give my advice - especially in a poster WHERE ADVICE ON WHAT TO CHANGE IS SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR? No, I do not believe so.

"Anyone can do what I'm doing right now"? Then why aren't they? I know people agree with me, because I've gotten many mails from people who do. But the common thread is that they're too afraid to speak up, because they're worried about getting killed. That's why I can do what I'm doing, because I'm not afraid of being killed for what I say.

Do I think I can magically change the world? Of course not, I'm not that naive. But I have things that I think need to be said, and so I'll say them - regardless of what it costs me, because I believe in the message, not the messenger.

"Knowudimsayinmotherfucker?"
(childish much?)

Report Post Tip

I'll give you that I'm childish. You'll get no argument from me there. And I don't disagree with some of your frustrations. I won't even debate you on your categorizing me as a yes-man because I'm not interested in proving you wrong. Perhaps your bloodline has been heralded as legendary in This Thing of Ours. I admittedly don't know because my own ancestry wasn't present in the old days you reference. But as of late it's a bit incessant.

By all means continue portraying yourself as a martyr. I just believe there is another way to make a change if you so desire. Maybe more challenging than the path you've chosen, but possible nonetheless.

And for the record, I called you a motherfucker in the nicest way possible, as it is a term of endearment where I hail from love.
