After a long night, Roman exits a meeting with the other city heads to see some of the most highly regarded members of the mob community awaiting word on the previous night and what the future would hold.

We lost a lot last night: Godfathers, friends, family.  I know I speak on behalf of the other city leaders when I say it was with a heavy heart that we removed New York from power.  In my time as Godfather, I've had to see the "reasons" speech a lot and given it a few times myself after wars.  Today I can't do that; that is something not befitting a city that I have worked with side by side for almost a year.   The last thing spoken about New York should NOT be reasons that they fell, the words I speak today are to celebrate them and their different incarnations over the year. 

When Colin was slain, I had just myself and a small band of misfits and rebels to work alongside.  It was TheDean who offered me comfort and a foundation to lean against as we built Chicago into what you see today.  I owe all I have to Colin and New York, the fact that last night I had to take part in a war on one of those mentors is not lost on me.   I know RoRog feels the same given that he was set up directly by TheDean and worked with Whatsername while they were both in New York.  TheDean understood that absolute power would corrupt absolutely, and he was very generous with allowing other cities to grow alongside his own and become his peers.  When he stepped down he left the city to Whatsername, and  I can say without hesitation she was absolutely the right choice to continue the legacy of that city.

I am sure that if you were to ask any of the city heads, they would come back unanimously that Whatsername, Sho, and Tanda were incredibly easy to work with and all of them had a great amount of character to them.  When leaders come out to make these speeches, it is usually with the intent of trying to avoid the firing squad, but I invite anyone to hate me, the truth is I hate that this decision had to be made.  New York wasn't just a city that will go down in the annals as a conquest for someone else, they were an empire that I will always revere. 

All I will say on the matter is that there were decisions made by New York that led to their downfall.  The decisions I'm sure were made in the best interest of New York, but nevertheless those decisions endangered the cities around them.  As I said, given my personal history with the great people of New York, I won't drag them through the mud.  Speaking for myself personally, Chicago has no problem with being labelled as tyrants, we've never quite fit the traditional mold from our inception through our continued existence.  I can say I am proud of every individual I worked with yesterday, and I am equally impressed with the poise shown by New York as I had none of them show up on my doorstep asking for mercy.  They went down with a leader that I hold a great deal of respect for.  My condolences go out to all of the fallen.

In moving forward, the city heads and myself have decided that Marston will take over Los Angeles and its day to day operations.  We have every faith that he will live up to the expectation placed on him when auth'd by Whatsername and Gaius.  I can promise that we will all continue to work together as heads of our respective criminal enterprises to provide everyone with the opportunity to be as successful as they dream they can be.

A man in the crowd shouts...

Your days of absolute power are numbered Roman. You will die for all the wrongs you've committed. If I don't kill you then someone will. There are many just like me who are tired of your "unique position" of seemingly unrivaled power. But mark my words: your reign of tyranny will come to an end. You will be murdered soon. 

Godfather Roman came on streets to speak with respect about New York. City your fathers fought for and died for least thing you all can do is work hard for new families.

My father only ever had good things to say about you and your city. In his journal he wrote of his final night.
I will carry to my grave no ill towards Chicago. It had been an absolute pleasure the time I had working along side Godfather Roman. I have no regrets, and would do it all over again in a heart beat. I only wish that we could have worked things out differently. Be things as the may, I will sleep tonight with a smile on my face, proud of what was accomplished by New York with my beloved Godmother Whatsername.

Very nice speech Godfather Roman. I was not around for most of the things you spoke of, but I'm sure they were a sight to see. As for New York, I wish all of their fallen a peaceful rest and all of their kids the best.

Shouting over the roaring crowd...

You had better watch out Roman. I know of hundreds others who, just like myself, want to see you dead. I can't wait to attend your funeral.  DEATH TO TYRANTS!!!!!!!!!

Sweeney stumbles over to the shouting.

Bru.....Brutus.... Please just relax. Your father is dead. Nothing can do about it. Just live your life. Your father was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Gideon applauds Godfather Roman's speech. Gideon then says...

You are such a beneficiary to us as a whole Godfather Roman. I honestly believe we need more SENSIBLE and GENEROUS leaders like yourself, that are bound to make WISE decisions.

As to Don Marston, he absolutely deserves this opportunity and I have his back 150 million %!

Last but not least, my heart goes out to the loved ones that lost their lives during the war. I feel your pain and I know your sorrow. But this is part of living the mobster life. Nobody said this would be easy and satisfying all the time. If you can't deal with the wins and defeats, then you have no place here.

Gideon then shakes Godfather Roman's hand and then congratulates Don Marston with a hug and cuban cigar.

Turning to the groveling crowd...

Look at you guys. You look absolutely pathetic. You spineless and weak-minded cowards, you pay you homage to the tyrant Roman only because you are afraid of him and his unparallelled power. He is nothing though. We can end his tyranny easily if we were united. I know you don't really agree with his terrible decision making, you are only acting out of fear. But now is the time to get rid of him. People who share my views are increasing in number every day. We will kill Roman, the only question is will you be on his side or on ours?

Gideon is wondering where all of this whining and complaining is coming from. He then see's the problem and says...

Brutus. Is that the name? Let's be realistic about this. The war is over now, there is nothing you can do about what took place. I hear you talking about you want to do this and you want to do that, but i gaurantee you won't even live past 48 hours because of your PATHETIC mouth. You are a civilian in the streets, hugely disrespecting a Godfather. It's not about being scared, but its about having something called respect. I am the last person to be scared or fearful of somebody, but I have something that you don't have, and that's respect. I hope one day you realize that respect takes you along ways.

Gideon then pats Brutus on the shoulder and says...

Just in case I don't see you before your funeral. RIP and tell my father I said hello.

Gideon then walks away.

I am not afraid of Roman. I admire him, my ancestors talked about him when he just got city. He survived many wars and we can only learn from him. He deserved power he has nowdays.

"I'm going to look over this bickering idiot and pay attention to the speech at hand."

Clapping loudly for Roman and for Marston, Simplicity happily rejoyced for both.

"Now I know this is also a time for the mourning of lost friends, but I must say that this speech was one quite different from all the rest. You once again make me proud to work for you, Roman. You led the charge perfectly, even if we did lose some great people. Yet, that is what comes with the price of war. I thank you."

"Marston! I wish you the best of luck as you step out onto these new streets of LA and forge your own destiny there. You will do great!"

As Simplicity left she took her glass of water and poured it over Brutus.

"Maybe that will cool you off, fool." 

Turning toward Gideon

I'm disrespecting Roman because he doesn't deserve the slightest bit of my respect. He's corrupt and abuses his power.  As for your sad attempt to make yourself not feel like a insignificant minion, you should take a long look at yourself in the mirror someday. You'll eventually find that whatever you trick yourself into calling what is in actuality your fear, at the end of the day Roman doesn't care one iota about you. He will use you to stay in power, and he'll dispose of you if it is convenient. Join me and together we can eliminate this tyrant. 

"iota" I hear no one cares about him, except perhaps burgerking. been as he's their best customer. Still don't brings his weight into this. Poor guy.

I have to say all i knew of the war was receiving the order to attack, there was no reason given other than it wqs what the family wanted and i did so accordingly. I did this however with a heavy heart, my line and godmother Whatsername go back a very long time and while recently we have lost touch i've always held a place for her in my heart.

Yes it was a tragedy to see New York decimated the way it was, I take my hat off to Sho for holding out as long as he did. But that is the way business goes, we of this life often need to make decisions that trouble us on a personal level, but the bottom line will always remain the same business as always, if the business gets hurt or disrupted in anyway that needs to be dealt with.

Thank you Sirs for this great opportunity. In my time in Las Vegas I worked closely with the late Kurtz and Godfather Gaius, I spoke often with them about their visions of a great city, being bold and leading by example, and I hope I can achieve what they believed me capable of back then, and bring their vision to reality in my future home of Los Angeles.

Before the war struck, Las Vegas was going through something of a transitional period following the death of a key figure in our operations, my good friend and mentor Kurtz. To then be hit with the death of our leader has been a tragedy for the city, and I will make damn sure the city is well on its feet and running before I make the move to LA. This will not be an overnight move, there is much to plan and discuss before anything is actioned.

Thank you again for the faith invested in me and your time, I hope I don't disappoint…

Marston tips his hat and heads back to Las Vegas in a hurry.

Standing a bit away from the crowd, io was smoking a cigar. Not that he likes it, but it was a way to calm his nerves and god knows it was needed : the night has been long and exhausting and he hasn't had the chance to recover yet. After having seen this so called Brutus moaning and crying both at the crowd and at a godfather, he decided, contrary to his habits, to enter the conversation. 

My father was used to tell me how life in New York was. At TheDean's times, after his retirement, his legacy... I can only be sad to have seen all these... somehow... friends who have fallen. It's like a part of my history, of our history, which has been put to an end yesterday. Of course, there were reasons which have led to that situation... But as Godfather Roman underlined, there's no need to emphasize them. The best we could do is keeping good memories of these friends and carry on our livings.

On the other hand, what I can't stand is somebody who cannot accept the situation and carry on spitting on everything he sees, including godfathers, as well as speaking in the name of "many people" hidden behind a "secret organization". I've always been told that there's one way to obtain what you want in this world : it's to do it yourself. Great speeches are one thing, actions are another. Instead of running everywhere crying like a child, be a man once in your life and do what you think needs to be done. Unless, of course, you can't, and that's probably the reason which has led you here tonight.

But if you could stop crying in New York name, for "all the victims of this tyranny", I would appreciate, really. They don't deserve such ridiculous attitude; they're worth a lot more than that. Oh and, by the way, hiding behind a secret organization... To be honest, you seem to be the coward in this story.
