| Who is your favourite barbeque aficionado? | Started by: Winston_P_Bear on Jan 28, '21 23:37 |

Anyone else out there been upping their smoking game lately? I’m curious if anyone has any favourite BBQ Gurus they like to watch and learn from. Personally, my go-to is Malcom Reed from How To BBQ Right, but recently watched Aaron Franklins Master Class and learned a ton from him as well. Let me know who you love, and feel free to share any killer recipes I should try! |

I am my own favorite barbecue master. I have a secret dry rub recipe that goes on everything from chicken to brisket to ribs to catfish. As long as it's spiced up enough, it's amazing. |

Man, BBQ and smokers are so popular lately. I expected a bigger response to this. I’m going to do a tri-tip tonight for super bowl. Smoke to medium rare and then flas sear for a nice crust. Yummmm. |

I'm not sure the full name of the guy. He went by the first name of Rashid. There was this show on netflix, something like the all american barbeque contest. It was judged by some southern blonde who was like the queen of bbq, fun show to watch. They really show how diverse BBQ is and how specialism exist, enlightening to watch |

He obviously cooked a lot of other stuff, but I found a lot of Ainsley Harriott's videos super informative in terms of putting base sauces and spices together as a foundation for whatever you're trying to achieve, (some of the best lamb recipes I still keep on hand) and of course, he was a huge advocate of giving the meat a good ol' rub. |

All meat should definitely get a good rub! That’s what I keep tellling the wife anyways ;) I don’t believe I’ve watched any of Ainsley’s videos, but will look them up! Thanks for the tip! :) |

Leela Punyaratabandhu, she authored a book titled "Flavors of the Southeast Asian Gril” It discusses how crucial open-air grilling is to many dishes in her native Thailand from skewered meat charred over a live fire, where it absorbs a heady mix of aromatic herbs and spices and of fat dripping onto sizzling, hissing, smoking hot coals. |

| I love getting my smoke on. My last masterpiece was beef short rib smoked over hickory for 12 hours. The rub was long pepper (get your hands on this spice from Indonesia amazing) salt pepper and coffee. | |

I mean obviously the only answer is Guy Fieri. He slathers everything in BBQ sauce and regularly visits flavortown like it's got his vacation home. |

Cant really remember his name. But there is this guy he cooks all his meat on these high heat flames. On these ridiculous ranges. Its really a work of art. And the meat gets cooked soo well. Saw it on a show one time. It was a beauty to watch. |

Butt rub! Is probably my go to product. That’s if I don’t have time to make my own. The names always amuse me. |

I really want to get a smoker just so I can smoke my own peppers. Nothing beats a chipotle salsa, and I much rather make my own than use the canned one. |

I'm my own favorite grill master! Men in my family have been sitting down for generations with their sons next to a barbque pit. It's where we learned how to slow down and enjoy some of the littler things in life. |
