| The First Snow Day | Started by: Frances on Feb 13, '21 13:15 |

"Frankie," She corrected him, although she wasn't sure if he remembered their meeting a few days ago, she was impressed enough he knew her name. Suppose it had something to do with Runakatte who seemed to know everything. "Yeah, you always want one bigger than you, which isn't an issue when you're my height, but you... " she trailed off looking the man up and down, "Well I know who to call if I need a star put on my Christmas tree." she said before laughing, "Fine, fine, earn you money and do your manual labor." She joked as she got behind the orb of snow and started pushing it towards the market. After a few steps she wondered if there was a way to rig some sort of contraption through the trees to launch these massive missiles at people. "Do you think it would kill someone if this landed on them?" she asked innocently, still struggling to push the snowball, which was quickly growing in size. |

Saanvi woke up after a day in bed with a terrible headache. The headache she always got when it started snowing. No, this was not her favourite season. Today it was better already and she got up and looked outside. No, the snow hadn't gone yet. She went to the kitchen to make some coffee and have a nice breakfast. Suddenly Astro came running into the kitchen and called: "Come Boss, there is a snow fight going on in the streets. Just a friendly fight. And JoynerLucas has a table with chocolate milk ready." "Oh chocolate milk, that's a drink I can't resist. Let's go. But we can also bring the speculaas cake we baked. The others will probably want to try this too". When Saanvi came outside, @Frances was ready to throw a snowball at her with a big smile. Luckily, it went right past her, but it did bring a smile to her face. |

It was a cold-ass day to be outside selling stolen newspapers but thankfully Faro spotted Frances, one of the prettiest gals who worked for JackMezzo, and her boozy cocoa stand. Carrying his stack over to her table, careful to dodge and errant snowballs flying, the young newsy dropped his pile and quickly tipped his peaky cap to the boss before pulling his jacket tighter around himself. "Hey there Frances, swell idea, I don't suppose I could have a cup-a-that-stuff?" |

Runa appeared behind Faro-Casadei and handed him a wad of bills. "Ditch the papers, Faro. We're in the big time now. Here's your cut from that thing with the car. You can use it to buy me one of these drinks." |

As Tammy looked outside, she noticed an elevated piece of snow in a gorgeous white blanket that seemed to stretch as far as her eyes could see. It took her two cups of her own-made Nicaraguan coffee, the good stuff, from Matagalpa, to realize she had forgotten to bring in the chocolate custard pie she had put outside to cool after being baked. Tammy shivered. She had to go out now to get it. She put on her warmest boots, her warmest coat and thickest scarf and added a woolen hat to finish off her outfit. She opened the door, stepped out, closed the door behind her and dove into the snow. poof! The impact of a Frances's strayed snowball smashing against her door, which she had aimed at Saanvi. What on earth is going on here? Tammy said, in low voice, whilst she scanned the landscape. There was a boobed snowman, and it looked like Dino was building a yellow-white striped zebra. As she got on her feet, Tammy saw Kanan getting involved after Frances had hit Drunky, although the latter seemed indifferent and somehow was more focussed on the bourbon and whiskey stand. All right! Tammy said to herself.. As the great philosopher B. Bunny once said: Of course you know, this means war! Tammy rushed back in, took all the kitchen items she could possibly use and ran back outside. She decided to take cover behind Saanvi's hideout to unpack there. She looked at what she had taken An icescoop, perfect for making tiny snow- or iceballs; bowls of various sizes, to make snowballs of various sizes; a pan with hot water and a bowl of runny custard au bain marie, to fix half snowballs together; a kitchen knife, to slice incoming snowballs mid-air and a massive spatula, to be used as a catapult. Hypothetically, she could win this battle.. At least this one didn't include a combination of custard and guns. |

Missing the mark with Saanvi completely she threw up her hands and shrugged as if to say, "Couldya blame me?" before the smell of cake wafted her way. Following her nose she headed to the table, to get Jack and herself a top up and a bit of tasty food. "Saanvi, this smells and looks amazing," She told the woman, "Thank you for bringing it! I hadn't thought friendly warfare would work up an appetite , but here we are." she said. "Now, can I interest you in some boozy hot chocolate?" she asked, gesturing to the set up. "Or we do have non-alcoholic for those of us who have important things to do later today." She waited for the woman's answer as a ball of snow managed to hit her right between the shoulder blades, causing her to hunch forward and knock the table slightly just as Faro-Casadei dropped his stack of papers on it, which caused some of the liquid to slosh out onto the table cloth. "Oh, oh no..." she cried as she reached out to steady the table, knocking over a glass or two in the process. With a sigh of slight defeat she gave up, "No use crying over spilled hot milk." She said pushing the hair that had escaped her hat out of her face before turning to Faro. She narrowed her eyes, looking the young lad up and down, "New one of Jacks, ya?" she asked him before handing him a non-alcohol laced hot chocolate. "Help yourself, we should be here all day so if you need a break and a warm up, come on by." she told him before sliding the plate of cake towards him, "You look like you haven't eaten in a week, whats your mother doing kid?" she asked him before picking up her own slice, but stopped as a weird white and slighly off white ball of soggy snow and custard splatted to the ground at her feet. "What the..." She knelt down in the snow, poking the object with her gloved finger before turning to yell over her shoulder, "Welcome to the party, Tammy !" |

Dino had a really good view of things as he hid behind his boobed snow woman and horse 'boobs on that horse' was something that kept coming to mind but at the moment, he wanted to join in the fun, picking up a boob, he hurled it at Tammy as she poked her pinny out from behind her fort 'bring it on oh queen of custard' |

Until said Queen of Custard was hit in the head by Dino's throw, Tammy had used her time well. Perfect! With this snowcurtain, no-one will notice me moving now.. She continued on making a stacked stock of tiny snowballs, glueing them together with custard |

Dino looks on in awe at @Tammys whirlygig doo hicky. it really was quite the piece of engineering although he wasn't quite sure what it was for. 'Frances, heads up' Dino had found more special yellow snow, fashined it into a projectile and hurled it at Frances head. |

She had watched with amusement as the pampered pooch had walked past the snow where Dino was hiding and marked its territory. She almost called out asking if he felt more at home now, when she saw him reach into the putrid stash of slush and look in her direction. "Oh no you don't! THE FOOD IS HERE!" she yelled wondering if it was worth taking the hit or letting everything go to waste. In a blind panic she grabbed some newspapers and started covering the table before accepting her fate and whirling around to protect herself from the object about to ruin her, by holding newspapers strategically to cover the important bits. The man had managed to hit her in the collarbone, and she shuddered with revulsion as she felt the snow start to melt and trickle down her skin. "I..." she looked around, her arms dropping to her sides dejectedly. "I....But..." she stared at the tips of her boots, crusted in snow and started counting silently in her head, at a lost for words, and knowing murder was not a wise choice. |

Dino cackled with delight as the yellow snow seeped under Frances undergarments, he wondered what yellow smelled like? Grabbing another boob, he really should think of boobs on the snow horse, the words in his head starting to make sense, and threw it towards the seemingly impentrable den behind which Tammy was hiding. |

Tammy saw Dino aim his ball towards her string bean cutter decoy installation and chuckled. She had moved herself all the way around to the other side of the Frances covered bourbon table and got ready.. Custard snow popball storm!! Tammy yelled as she went all-out-attack, ignoring any detail of defence. With seven tiny snowballs per hand she started clusterbombing the central area, hitting RunaKatte on her leg, Dino's yellow zebra on the head and Frances's bourbon bottle on the top. None of the hit targets seemed to notice the impact. Relentlessly, she launched another collection of popballs. One almost reached Saanvi's feet. Another one dissolved mid-air. With her third launch she seemed more lucky. Four of eight actually hit something. Oh phoc.. Tammy sighed, as she wondered if JackMezzo appreciated the quick succession of tiny snowballs on the back of his head, before she shook of the thought as she reached out for the next load. |

Dino, seeing @Tammys load splatter all over his horse boobs realised he'd been out flanked. Desperate for cover before she was able to project her next load, he took cover with Frances behind the bourbon table and fashioned a white flag out of the corner of Frances table cloth...or was it newspaper? It was difficlut to say 'should we call a truce while we have drinks'? |

Tammy noticed Dino's whitepaper and heard him give up, admitting defeat to her. Tammy paused for a moment, thinking about how she had just started her tiny snowballfight, without even using the double rolling pin catapult she had prepared. But as she was happy to admit Dino's defeat, she stopped targetlessly hurling popballs and stepped towards the table. Taking of her woolen hat, she looked at Dino. I'd like a hot chocolate.. As long as it's not the one that I made the other day, with the expired milk and the fake cacao.. Is it self-service here? Otherwise I can just do the serving..? |

"Ain't got no ma..." Faro said to Frances. "Orphan. But thanks for asking after her just the same. Real sweet of ya, Miss Frances. You know what," Taking the cash from RunaKatte. "Let's make that two cups if you would, one for me and one for the best new driver in Jack's whole damn operation." He noticed the custard snowball thrown by Tammy and considered giving it a taste but instead, he opted to dig into the cake he was given. "Wanna share some cake, Miss Katte? If you play your cards right I might even help ya build a snow-made-man when we're done." |

Runa sipped the hot cocoa she was given, but sprayed at it on the snow when Faro-Casadei said "snow-made-man". "Ah sure, I'll share some cake." She looked around; this wasn't what she expected, really, but it seemed like fun. |

"Hot dog! We'll get that hat of mine for him, I can buy a new one ... maybe you can help me pick out a good one this time since you so damn keen on thinking your sense of fashion is better than mine?" Faro laughed, "Oh this is gonna be great. Watch out for those snow-custard balls there, you don't wanna slip." Faro tried to take RunaKatte out of the direct line of fire to enjoy their cake. "THANKS AGAIN MS. FRANCES, YOU'RE ALL ACES IN MY BOOK!" In a more reasonable tone, he said to Runa, "What sorta stuff did you do back in your old country during winter? Anything as fun as this?" |

Runa rolled her eyes even thinking about what Faro-Casadei called his 'sense of fashion.' Then she winked at Frances, who seemed to have launched quite the impromptu celebration; she was looking forward to catching up with the woman, preferably near a piano. The question about home made Runa stumble; it'd been a while since she'd thought of her dad and her village. "I lived on an island, and travel really cut down during the winter. Just got a lot more dangerous, ya know? So we mostly just huddled around a fire, drank, and waited for spring. But we did some things. Ice skating. 'Big' feast for Christmas. That sort of thing." |

"Ice skating?" Faro said the words as if they were alien to him utterly. "Heh, well, I suppose your Pa probably got you some fancy skate or somethin'. Nuns never had no skates for us... we did have trays we'd take from the kitchen to go sledding on. Sledding is good fun, if you're up for it we could go sledding... I'd offer to take you skating, but I... um... don't have skates." |

Runa punched Faro-Casadei in the shoulder. "Fancy? I grew up in a bar in the back end of nowhere. People've been skating for thousands of years. We strapped blades to our regular boots. I used to sled when I was a kid, but haven't been in a while. I'd offer to buy you some skates, but, uh..." Runa sighed. "... some guy in a suit took all my money. Gambling." |
