The Adventures of a Bowler Started by: TheBowler on Feb 17, '21 09:30

Come closer.

Those were the words that greeted the ears of Bowler the first time that he awoke from his slumber, it had been a very long time since anyone had spoken to him. A very, very long time.

Good, you're awake.

This voice was louder than any other he had heard before and yet it was soothing enough to actually follow. Listening to it was not as frightening as one might expect, but being in the lull of just waking up could also be dulling his senses. While this was surely one of the factors to consider there was another that hadn't been missed in his mind; this was a calling, and he was being forced to answer it.

The feeling of warmth and the feeling of wetness as he erupted was enough to--

"Come on, man. You did not remember your fucking birth like this. Ain't no way."

"Why do we even bother with this guy? He's always making up shit."

The two gentlemen were very annoyed for some reason, when people got fed up with his stories they would really let him have it. In fact, people always reacted to The Bowler like this, especially when he was weaving on his more deeper tales. While they were all rooted in complete and utter truth exactly as they happened, no one could quite comprehend how much one man had been through and so the first thing everyone was willing to believe was that it was all just an elaborate lie.

"I would like to hear what you have to say", spinning around in his chair was dizzying and yet satisfying; only to notice the person standing behind him was much smaller in stature to most others he had seen and yet there was something large about him that he couldn't quite put his finger on. Was it his hands? No, his hands looked normal enough. Hmm...

"I heard you have stories. I'd like to hear a few."

A few? No one had ever asked to hear one, let alone a few. His mind was racing with the possibilities this would incur, and then suddenly everything went completely blank. Had he been kidnapped again? Nope, not this time. Waking up on the same bar stool he had been sitting on the entire time, he realized he had taken a bit of a spell.

"Are you okay?", the man went to touch Bowler's shoulder and suddenly a burst of words began to spill out of his mouth without any sign of stopping. Story time was on, and the first one to start with was the most obvious as it was the first time he was stolen and also the most notable entry of the past couple of years.

MaDAAAAAMN Part 1

Being stuck in the trunk of a car wasn't nearly as exciting as one would hope. Not only were you stuffed in a small confined space, but also every bump from the rocks in the street was amplified by a thousand. What one would imagine was a simple STOP. STOP!

All that he could hear now was a large kerfuffle happening outside, and then what could only be described as pops. Bowler had heard these types of pops before and knew exactly what it was, someone was shooting. But who? While he tapped at the top of the trunk in an attempt to get any sort of attention, he heard the sound of latches coming undone and finally brightness met his eyes for the first time in what must have been at least a day or two.

CLOSE IT! CLOSE IT!

Slamming the door back shut, he opened his eyes and embraced for the re-opening. This time staring through slits created by pressing his eyes as closed shut as possible without fully letting the world before him darken. Alright, I'm ready now. he said with a puff, finally the world was back into view and after only four or five minutes of acclimation it was time to...

Flmff.

The second that he stood up, he fell right back down. Apparently he had spent more time not standing than he had thought, but with a bit more determination he was finally ready to be a fully functioning human again and that's the first time that he met the men who would finally welcome him into the fold.

Hello there, Agent.

What did they mean? He was no agent, just a simple man living a quiet life in the mafia. Surely there was some form of mistake, but instead of correcting them right away, Bowler had a plan. He would let it ride and see how long until anyone noticed that there was no agent standing before them.

Yeah, uhh... Agent...

Rick.

Agent Rick here.

Rick Castiono.

Clenching his fists to not give away the lie so soon, he continued to nod his head and simply agree with everything being said.

Yeah, that's me alright.

There was a brief moment where no one said a single word, but it was quickly broken when someone shoved a piece of paper into Bowl-- Rick's hands. Looking at it, he couldn't make heads nor tails of anything that it said but that didn't stop him from humming to himself in a strong tone in order to really drive home the lie that he knew what the fuck was going on.

As you can see, there is a Madame running a rather lucrative "bar" here in the city and we need someone that can get in there and relay us any information about how exactly this place has stayed under the radar for so long. You have full clearance on this, so go wild. Just don't do that thing you did last time.

Chuckling to himself, The Bowler set off to the location on the paper which was quite honestly the only thing that he could decipher on the entire piece of shit. Why couldn't they make this easier? After only a few minutes of traveling he ended up at the joint and man was it fucking spectacular, some of the light shows outside of it were magnificent to watch, and he caught himself doing that for at least ten minutes.

Alright, alright. It was time to begin. Stepping inside, the bright lights bursting against his eyes gave him flashbacks to the first moment that he was let out of that trunk, but what he saw once his eyes set was enough to knock him over. Literally.

WAIT WAIT WAIT

"So, wait... you're saying that you were a secret agent?"

"Hey, man, you're the one who asked me for one of my stories. Trust me, it'll all make sense by the end."

"NO IT FUCKING WON'T.", one of the patrons in the bar yelled towards the seats that both Bowler and the man were sitting in. People were rude like that to him, and he still couldn't piece together why. Was the truth so hard to accept?

"Alright, son. Continue your story."

No problem, so where was I?
