The RCMP Widows and Orphans Numbers Game Started by: Benton_Frazer on Jun 10, '11 10:00

Benton gallops into town on the back of his Black Stallion, before dismounting and straightening his tunic. As always he is resplendent in his Red Serge, Highly polished Strathcona boots and Sam Brown, and his Stetson perfectly straight. Standing beside his horse, he strokes its flank before feeding it a sugar cube. Reaching into one of the saddle bags he removes a handful of flyers and steps into the path of the oncoming pedestrians.

Excuse me, I wonder if you wouldn't be so kind as to take one of my flyers? He says as he pushes on into your hands

Detroit RCMP Numbers Game

Starting Friday June 17th, The RCMP will be relaunching my Great Grandfather's Numbers Game, with a few tweaks.

'What is a numbers game?' I hear you ask. Well a Numbers game is a traditional form of Mafia business and gambling where people wager money on the outcome of a basic 3 digit number, like 777 or 666 or 123.

Ah, so this is another Lottery then? No, definitely not. A Numbers game is much simpler than a Lottery, and the odds of winning are substantially higher than those of a Lottery. Also, Lotteries have fixed ticket prices and fixed prizes based on a percentage of ticket sales. Numbers isn't like that. You pick any number between 000 and 999, and you decide how much you wish to wager, between $1 and $25,000. We offer simple odds of 200-1. So if you bet $5 on 123, and 123 is the winning number, you win $1000. Easy!

I'm not sure about this, it sounds too easy, and far to easy for you to rig. Those are fair points. However, as Inspector Gadget always says (How do I keep ending up working for people with ranks in their names?), "Simplicity is the way to go..." why do you think he Authed Iestyn_ap_Llywelyn? As for easily rigged, well we have a fool proof system that guarantees this game can't be rigged! Its based on the Dow Jones.

At the close of trading, the Dow Jones publishes four figures. The closing Price, the Opening price, the High price, and the low price.

It looks something like this:

10944.72 +193.45 (1.80%) 5 Oct 16:02 ET
Open: 10752.78
High: 10965.61
Low: 10711.12

We will take the last digit of the Open, High and Low prices, and that is the winning number. So yesterday's winning number would have been 812. Simples. This way anyone who plays can verify the winning number, and you just don't have our word that we didn't cheat.

Sounds good, so how do I play? I thought you might ask that. Well that too is simple. The winning numbers will be based on the number published by the Dow Jones every Friday, the first Friday being the 17th June. You have until 12pm (MRT) Thursday to buy your number. To Buy your Number simply send a message to me, Benton_Frazer, with the number you wish to play, and the amount you wish to bet up to a maximum of $25,000. Then have your accountant transfer the funds to me directly. I will then mark you wager in the log books of the Numbers Bank here in Detroit. Winners will be paid by return transfer the Saturday after the numbers are published.

It really couldn't be any easier. So what are you waiting for?

The first draw is Friday the 17th, could you be first to win $5 million?

Alabama overhears the mention of a numbers game

Well, how refreshing to see an age old Mafia game being put to use, albeit in a somewhat different fashion, its a numbers game none the less.

I would be happy to purchase a ticket. In fact, seeing as its the opening week I shall pay for any bets made by any members of my family. I'll have my accountant transfer the funds for my own bet now, though.

Best of luck with the game, hopefully you'll make me a millionaire!

Wow, that's a very generous offer Mrs Worley, if even half the True Romantics decide to have a flutter it should put one of them in a very good position to walk away a millionaire.

It must be obvious to all that you are a true visionary!

Report Post Tip

Did I just overhear a free ticket offer for a True Romantic?

I think I just did, interesting idea here you have Benton, I'll be happy to purchase several tickets on behalf of our, shall I say, quieter members of the family.

I shall put to good use the kind generorsity of Alabama and be in touch shortly.

Walks away wondering how many people will put on 187

Not a problem Klasky, I look forward to hearing from you.

Bets are away, good luck with your venture, I hope you get a good response.

*Paris picks up a flyer as it blows in the wind*

Hmmm, sounds interesting.....

*Looking out for a contact name, Paris shakes his head, throws the flyer in the trash and walks off to look for the latest issue of the Chuckle Knuckle*

Johnny reads the flyer that's been placed in his hand.

"Hmm, a clever game. I'm not much of a gambling man though. So I'll have to pass. Good luck with it though."

Johnny hands back the flyer and continues walking down the street.

Hearing about the game Paul shrugs, cant be worse than any of the games he constantly throws away hes money on in las vegas. Deciding to place a bet he takes a flyer from benton and goes away while trying not to consider the odds which are basicly crap...Then he gets a thougth and goes back to benton saying.

My good man, may i suggest next time you launch a game you make it simpler or atleast the explanation simpler cos reading this flyer gave me a headache and made me very thirsty...

He then marches off to the nearest bar and orders a beer.

Report Post Tip

I don't think Benton will be making anything simpler from 6ft under.
