It had been quite some time from that day that Simplicity had ran into Kimble. He had offered her a new life, one that was her own. Yes, it was a similar life to the one she had known before, but perhaps that was why she flourished so much.
Simplicity had set out to make something out of herself. She wanted to be Simplicity, not just that someone you walked by and didn't even notice. She wanted her name to stick in other's heads. Many people lived this life, but no one ever knew they were there. You earned money and shot some people, but other than that they went about their business and didn't bother anyone else. She figured that was an okay life. That wasn't one she was interested in.
Simplicity had a voice. She had one that wasn't scared of speaking up and speaking out about her thoughts. Especially, when her Godfather was being attacked. Yet, this wasn't what Simplicity had came here today for. She had other things to attend to. There was always that source to her hard work. Her brother...
The thoughts raced across her mind about how her father murdered her only love in her life. He was everything to her and he was stolen away from her. At that time in her life she wasn't the strongest and could barely stand up to her father let alone be able to kill him. Although for her father, his days were numbered. Simplicity was no longer that young girl that ran to save her life. She was a strong lady that could hold her own and recently there was only one thing on her mind, her father dead.
This so called father of hers felt it was a good move to kill his son when they were planning to escape. That was probably his worst move made. You never know what you're messing with until you take away something that is more important than life it's self to someone.

Heading into the family HQ, Simplicity had to inform her family that she would be missing for a few days. The look in her eyes could tell you what she was setting out to do. She had planned to do it alone, but she had learned a thing or two from being in Chicago. Having others around to help you was always a good thing. Friends, loyalty, and respect was something she found in Chicago and it had kept her alive this long so it was bound to help her with the murder of her own father.
Sitting down at the table before her she began to write out the letter that was in her mind in case she was not going to return. Her family here meant the world to her, as did her city, and she wanted to leave her last words for them if she was to die.
Hearing the floor squeak, Simplicity quickly turned around. She couldn't see who stood there in the shadow, but only family ever dared enter the HQ. |

Things had changed for Ghendo over the past few months. He went from being a lowly thug, crawling through the streets alone, to being a member of something far more important than he imagined. He still wasn't a real name around Chicago, but through his hardwork and ambition he had turned a few heads here and there. After the last war, Ghendo had felt a little displeased at how little he was able to offer his Godfather, and swore to himself that he'd be someone of worth by the next one.
Stepping into the HQ, Ghendo's vision narrowed slightly as his eyes met with Simplicity's. She seemed pretty on edge about something, judging from the way she quickly snapped her head around to see who had entered. He raised and eyebrow a tad, walking over to the table she was sitting down at and clasped a hand on her shoulder, squeezing a little.
"Hey there, dear. Everything alright? You seem a little tense about something." Ghendo spoke in a very worried tone, because Simplicity meant a lot to him, and people knew it. She had been the one that dragged him from the streets and gave him a purpose. After that day he had found a strong feeling of admiration towards her. She was the person, the family member, he wanted to be one day. She was the closest person he had, and would do practically anything for her. She need only ask.
His eyes had dashed about the surroundings, and then fixed on the letter she had in front of her.
"Oh, this about your father?" His expression has changed from that of worry to anger, as he knew all about what her father had done to her. |

Simplicity relaxed when she realized it was Ghendo. She put down her pen and paper after finishing writing it and stood up. Placing a paper weight on top of it to make sure it didn't randomly fall off she let out a sigh. She knew her family wouldn't enjoy reading it and would probably be waiting around hoping she would come back at any moment. She knew she would be if it was someone else going out putting themselves at risk of death.
Leaning against the table she looked towards the floor as she spoke.
"Guess I'm that easy to read, eh? Then again I wouldn't be writing a goodbye letter if it was something other than this. I'm not the type to just leave those I care about without at least giving them a few words in case I am not able to speak to them again."
Pausing a moment she held her hand close to her heart as she felt the pain from her memories, like it was the day she knew her brother had died all over again. Her pain slowly turned to anger. Yet, she calmed herself as she knew that a calm mind would be better to shoot to kill than one fueled by her heart. She needed to rely on her wits for this task, her heart would only get her killed.
"I know everyone will be fine without me around for a bit. You've learned well and aren't that dim witted kid I once knew. You've....sorta....grew into a man."
Smirking at him she couldn't help but poke fun.
"Take care while I'm gone, okay?
Simplicity ruffled his hair and smiled before she began to make her way to the door. |

Ghendo shrugged a bit as she first spoke. His eyes had continued to watch her as she fumbled about with the letter, making sure it was secure and in plain sight.
He stood there in silence, aside from a loud sigh, as Simplicity seemed to be lost in thought. Once she had continued talking, Ghendo's worried expression turned into one of embarassment as she slightly praised him, only to turn around and make fun. Hey, it's what she did, and he enjoyed it at times. But she was right, when she first met him he wasn't that impressive of a mafioso.
She ruffled his hair and walked past him, heading towards the door. He raised up his hand and snagged a hold of her shoulder again before she was out of arms reach, stopping her.
"You're leaving the people who've fought and bled beside you.. a letter? And heading out alone? Are you serious?" His face shifted, and it was pretty obvious he was getting a little angry.
"Yeah, we're all here to better the family's business. To make Roman's name known strong throughout all of Chicago.. but that doesn't mean you have to take on all of your own problems alone. Your friends can always tell when something is wrong, Simplicity. How could we call ourselves friends if we were oblivious to it?" He let her go, just noticing he had begun t hold on for too long.
There was a moment of silence before he spoke again. "You know, you need only ask and I'd follow you to the fires of Hell. As would a lot of people around here. You've done a lot for this family." |

Simplicity glared at Ghendo. She shook her head and looked as if she was going to slap him. His words seemed to make her angry. Calming herself she regained her composure and spoke.
"Have you learned nothing about me? I would never put another family member's life in harms way and will never ask them to do so! Are you a fool?"
Slapping herself mentally she then ruffled his hair and smiled.
"You've grown up kid... If you follow me then I can't stop you. Yet, I warn you. My father isn't an easy target, but with me being his daughter I've got some tricks up my sleeve."
Looking towards the table she had placed the note upon and heart warmed a bit. Her family cared as much about her as she did for all of them. It wasn't until now that she was able to stand back and realize this. With all the rushing around and keeping things in order it was hard to see anything other that what the task was at that moment.
Simplicity smiled at Ghendo, almost like she was thanking him. |

Ghendo may have said too much. Simplicity looked as if she was getting pretty angry, though it subsided and she calmed down. He felt a little embarassed as she ruffled his hair, and chuckled a little under his breath at the 'kid' comment again, seeing how he was actually a little oder than her. At least she understood the point he was trying to make, as forceful as he may have come off.
"I may have grown up a tad, but I still have a long way to go.. and to be honest, I'm not that worried about your father. I figure someone as smart as you has a plan." He returned her smile and gave her a sligt nod, acknowledgeing her thanks.
His eyes dropped away from her, and back towards the letter she had left on the table. He shook his head a little bit, and let a sight escape his mouth. One day, he knew he'd be in the same situation, should his past catch up with him. Though that was for another time, and he knew all of his focus would need to rest on helping Simplicity get even with the man that both ruined her life.. and made her into the woman she was today.
Ghendo gritted his teeth together a bit and shrugged off his thought, his gaze returning towards her. Reaching into his coat, he removed a black comb and began to straighten up his hair.
"So, when do we get started, ma'am?" He said respectfully, returning the comb into his pocket once he was done. |

Simplicity took out a crumpled up piece of paper that she had wrote on. She had kept it in her bra, right next to her heart, where it was hidden. Reading it over she nodded and figured it was good for both of them. She didn't allow Ghendo to see what was written on it, but it was obviously valuable information. Not many would keep a paper in their bra unless they didn't want others to see or read it. Running her finger over a line she then spoke without looking up.
"The train leaves tomorrow at 9:00am. I'll most likely be easily recognizeable once I show up in Chicago so I'll be doing some undercover work. What does that mean? Well you'll see when you arrive at the train station. Be sure to get there by 8:30am and get your ticket or else you won't be riding the train."
Simplicity put the paper back in the same spot she had it and smiled. She had waiting a long time for this and the plan was finally underway. She knew exactly where and when to strike...things just had to go perfectly though or else their timing would be off and the plan would be ruined. She had a back up plan, but it was one she would rather not risk relying on.
"I'll see you in the morning, but don't expect to see me. I'll reveal myself to you when the time is right. I know my father's men travel the train a good bit for business."
Heading towards the door she nodded and gave Ghendo a small hug. Then turning around she made her way out of the family HQ and towards the dark streets. There were only a few street lights on at this time. All the cars were parked and none were running. Simplicity pulled her coat over her and then the hood to cover her face. She then began to walk down the street until even the brightest of lights could no longer allow you to see her. She was headed home until the morning light shined in her window. |

Ghendo watched as Simplicity began studying some piece of paper that was tucked away in her shirt. Standing there in silence, he calmly looked about the family HQ, and smirked a bit at all of the memories. There were notes pinned to the wall from one member of the family to another, some about bets, humorous remarks, and even future jobs. His eyes returned to Simplicity as she began to speak.
"Chicago? We're in Chicago, hun. You must mean Cleveland, yeah? You're a little worried about what's to come, and probably mixed it up. But I got ya', train at 8:30."
Watching her return the scrap of paper to inside of her shirt, he slightly raised an eyebrow.
"Roger, Simplicity. I'll look forward to seeing you when you reveal yourself. Until then, I'll go about my business and try to look as inconspicious as I can. But with a mug that looks this good, it'll be a tad hard." He chuckled to himself.
He stopped laughing when she had hugged him. He looked around the HQ a tad, and then returned the hug to her after he had seen no one of consequence. Ghendo nodded to her as she departed, and he made his way back over to where she was sitting down, looking at her letter. Ghendo had some stuff he had to take care himself, and made his way out into the night. |

Simplicity had cut her hair a tad bit to make sure it would fit in the wig. Pulling her hair up she then stuffed the extra strands inside the wig before placing a small moustache on her upper lip she made sure they were even as to not make a mistake. Then taking the suit she had made herself, she hung it up and grabbed the pillow. Getting dressed she then shoved the pillow into the stomach slot she had made. Doing a quick shake down to make sure everything moved into the right spot she then looked into the mirror.
"I make a good looking man if I do say so myself!"
Chuckling at her own joke she then grabbed her bag for the train. Making her way through the streets no one really looked at her. Most would eye someone if they looked awkward or out of place. Yet, she did look like a young business man making his way up in the world.
Rounding the bend she then headed towards the train station. Taking a look at her watch she saw it was only 8:15. Plenty of time to wait around for Ghendo. What a surprise it would be to him to see her in the form of a man. Quite the sneaky plan!
Simplicity paid for her ticket and then took to a wall to lean against. Her eyes watching the crowd that came and went. She looked at her watch once more and saw that only 5 minutes went by. She calmed herself and regained her patience as she was seeming to lose it quickly. |

Walking into the train station, Ghendo paused for a moment and looked about the vicinity. He recognized a few faces here and there, but he saw no sign of Simplicity. Her voice shot through his head momentarily. "I'll see you, but you won't see me", eh? He chuckled a bit to himself, and looked at his watch. 8:18. It had taken him a little longer than planned to finish up some business and get here, but he had made it on time nonetheless. He threw his bag over his shoulder, and made his way to the ticket booth.
After standing in line for a couple of minutes, Ghendo bought his ticket and made his way back towards to other end of the station. Along the way, his bag fell off his shoulder and happened to bump into Simplicity, not knowing it was her at all.
"My apologies, sir." Ghendo tipped his hat and nodded his head a little as he continued onward over to a vacant chair.
He sat down, and began to brainstorm of the coming day. Simplicity really hadn't gone over anything with him, so he was going to be prepared for anything to happen on the drop of a dime. Smirking a little, he washed away what worry and doubt he had. Ghendo trusted Simplicity, and he needed to be focused on the task at hand. |
