Takkar walked over to the city square and cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. " Good evening ladies and gentleman. Many of you may have questions about the events that unfolded last night and the cause for the removal of 12th Street and South Side. I'm here to give a concise account of the events that led up to the bloodshed last night," he paused and scanned the crowd before continuing.

"It was around mid afternoon yesterday when I received word from our allies across the country that certain parties were plotting to strike against the leaders of this thing of ours. And when I learnt that this group consisted of the godfathers of 12th street Detroit and South Side Chicago, I was naturally alarmed."

"A meeting was quickly called forth. In this meeting many trusted members of the alliance presented evidence, all of which pointed to an imminent attack set to take place this weekend. At that point, a pre-emptive strike seemed like the best course of action. But before we could go about planning this strike, we learnt that many of our enemies had started having their associates protect them in safe havens. Time was of the essence at that point and we knew we had to move immediately," Takkar took a long pause. 

"I knew what had to be done and as I was on my way towards 12th street, I couldn't help but think back to the past few months. Things had started off well with me, Smash and Gunther. We worked hard to rebuild Detroit after the last war wrecked havoc to the businesses. Gunther and I had had a few disagreements but that was to be expected as I had not known the man before moving to Detroit. I knew he was a hard worker and a good leader and I admired that in him. But then last week we had a heated argument about expansions within Detroit. Our views differed on the matter of expansion. Perhaps this argument was what caused him to plot against us or perhaps it was something else. All I knew for certain was that he had made his choice and now I had to make mine."

"When I squeezed that trigger I did not feel hatred or anger. It was done to protect those who put their trust in me and followed me to Detroit. If not, I would be the one 6 feet under and Gunther would be the one speaking to you. It was either me or him," Takkar looked at the crowd once more and added. "I'm not going to shed fake tears or say I'm sorry for what I did. To say sorry would mean that I regret my action which I do not."

"Now I know that the kin of those that were slain have a right to feel angry, I would feel the same anguish if the roles were reversed. If sending bounty hunters after me relieves your pain then feel free to do that. Not that you need my permission to do so. Till those bounty hunters catch up to me, I will be working hard, as I always have, to make Detroit a thriving hub for the mafiosos of the country. Thank you for listening," Takkar said before walking away from the public square.

Thanks for this, Takkar. You're an investor in the community, like myself, so I know how crucial stability is to you. We don't take these decisions lightly, especially when it involves individuals we respected and were proud to associate with. The reasons given for this excursion sound legitimately founded, though as always there will be some "innocent" parties involved, who's kin will be left asking why. Appreciate you taking the stand to deliver that.

Slip of the tongue. 

Hello, Mr. Conner. It is fair to be upset and challenge the statement given. I'll speak honestly and open with you, my experience of the events of yesterday were far from organised or premeditated. Any dismantling of two districts with such significant occupants would require some careful planning and execution. I received a last minute telegram to seek protection, not a target, as a priority action. This does not equal to any amount of personal agenda to remove the previous occupants of 12th Street to me.

And should it be that there were plans to attack which triggered the move? Well then both parties are guilty of violent intentions so in keeping with our traditions are expected to defend themselves.

I don't believe it is fair to besmirch the entire character of a man, who has worked hard for his city and this community, for doing exactly what anyone else in their right mind would have done.
