People like to know exact dates for many reasons. It is impossible to work out an exact date just using someones profile ID - sure you can narrow it down, but if the IDs near them all die along the way and their profiles are removed it could leave you with any amount of ambiguity.

I like this idea.

Perhaps we could use the terms 'DOB' and 'Criminal Start Date', I think they suit it quite well.

I say have "Date of Birth" and "Start Date". Simple as pie, and provides a valuable bit of information. Bravo!

We really need this change. It is really decieving to the players on the start date. You go to war try to wack a Wise Guy and your a boss and he got higher stats then you id flip out if he killed me thinking he was a few days old it would be helpful during war so we dont pit real younger people up aginst people who we think should be in their range but really is a year ahead of them. I mean yeah you lose exp and etc. but still their way more exp then you would think.

In additional to tactical knowledge, this needed change also provides needed character information. For example, if a newly authed leader has 7 original threads and 100 posts with a start date of a month ago, you'd say that person was extremely active. Except that their character has really been around for over a year and only recently was demoted.

This is unnecessary. Theres always a way to put a reasonable number to how old someone is regardless of how many times they've been demoted.

RoRoG, i am unaware of any of the methods you speak of. the unqique ID that evilclown spoke of is something i have never even heard of.

your demotion does not change the date you started, it mearly changes your rank. your date of birth should be fixed, demotion changing that looks weird.

that said, i don't believe demotion dates are necessary in any form. all i ask is that DOB not be changed.

I have recently learned about the unique ID method and it doesn't give a bad approximation of how old each person is.  But I still think it would be nice to know because logically speaking I still don't think just because someone gets demoted means they become younger.  An old expierenced man will still be an old experienced man, just with lower social status. 

I absolutely love this idea. Some of the members of my blood line have taken a demotion or 2 and I can be hard even for yourself to know the actual date and time you started your character. Though I'm not certain what the other date should be called but definitely Date of Birth for your original start date.
