Im selling my XBox and buying a PS3 but not really sure on any games to look for..

Ive got GTA 4
CoD 4
Modern Warfare 2 and Mirrors Edge because the're games i had on my XBox..

Can anyone suggest some good games for the PS3 that i could look into getting?

I back Sweeney on L.A. Noire. I'm planning on getting that game, soon. All my mates, say it's pretty epic.

L.A Noire looks crap, not something that appeals to me..
And ive already played asassins one and two, got bored of them..

And don't recommend Fifa to me either
Fifa and Uncharted are my two least favourite games ever..

its all about Pro Evo when it comes to the football games, Fifa is slow as hell which makes it far too easy

You can change the play speed on fifa, only noobs play on normal speed. PES sucks.

well, the servers can fit that many in one game.

Don't much fancy the game myself but i've heard its a good game..
But the graphics look naf and the handling of cars looks worse..

Infamous (available for free on the PSN atm as part of the "Welcome back" package), Dragon Age and/or Dragon Age 2. I've played the first Dragon Age and fucking loved it. Oblivion if you're into that kind of game too. Hell, Fallout 3 aint half bad if you want a cheap game that is good, or one of the Final Fantasy's.
