Over the time I've played, I've seen many things change for the benefit of the game. They may not be realistic, we may not agree with them all, but they're added for pure gameplay/enjoyment. The topic I want to bring up, and I know its been brought up before is age. Not specifically that your character gets older, but the way the rank/position system works.
Realistically do you really think a Godfather would still be doing petty crimes? Hijacking trucks and more? In my opinion, hell no. He'd be on his way out. He'd be in Florida with the other old folks enjoying the sun. The Godfather is more of a face. He's feared because of his history. Key term being history. He's feared because of the people around him, the connections he has to make you disappear.
We all know the top dogs are Godfathers. Over time they rack in more kills than any of us can count, same with bodyguards. Most of us will agree that realistically you don't see people walking around with 400 bodyguards or have even killed over 500 people by the way of a gun in their life time.
What I'm trying to say is let's make one thing realistic and allow the bigger, top guys, not have the ability to do so many crimes or actions such as wacking as often as they could. Like I said, why would a Godfather be knocking over a 7-11? Why would a Godfather go out of his way to kill some poor Gangster? He wouldn't. He'd send someone over. It'd bring too much and after all of his crimes, you'd thing his criminal record would be rather large...
This is VERY brief on my behalf but thought we could get some ideas going. |

There would need to be some sort of trade off if the Godfathers are going to lose the basic abilities that they currently have. Otherwise, what would be the point of striving to the top positions if you essentially become weaker and can do less? |

Money isn't enough? I mean they take so much from every crime that is done in their city and such. Their wack boost must be significant... Defense as well.
What if bigger actions such as wacking as limited? These days when a city goes to war, that Godfather of the city is the main hitter. Why not make it so he can only wack once every three hours? Something along those lines. |

I think I understand were your are going thus the only Idea that could be implemented in such case would be to limit the petty fellony to it's achievement requirements so when you finish the 100% on snatching a purse you move on to do something else and will not be able to snatch another purse again. this way it would be fair for all users and would give it a boost to a more realistic view.
this implementation/change wouldn't affect only godfathers but all players. (I believe this covers the supplement matter you discussed Chuckle ) |

"It will boost the voting (+ clicks for cash)"
You suggest that petty crimes stop being available, but believe it will boost voting? The main aspect, other than a little cash, for the + is that it resets your petty timer. If no petties are available, why would you click it? For that little bit of cash and xp? Seems a little redundant.
I'm all for the higher ranks having more applicable means of passing the time, but I dont see anything plausible suggested thus far, nor have I managed to think of anything myself that could be implemented. |

"It will decrease the cash flow for high rankers"
If we are trying to make this more real, why would we decrease the cash flow to the high rankers? In the real mafia the high rankers made a ton just from sitting there letting thier boys roam the streets. They didn't have to do anything but bark orders. Since that can't happen in this game, you have to allow them to do the crimes like the rest of us. If you took that away from the higher ranks why would you even get to a higher rank? Why would you strive to reach GF if you could make 10 times more being a WiseGuy? |

I think everyone agrees that a Godfather knocking over a Post Office is just a tad unrealistic, so why not present these individuals with more, advanced, forms of crime. For example; corporate fraud, money laundering and insider trading, more white collar crime for instance? |

Hmm. Excuse me, but wouldn't that just be essentially changing the names of the crimes that lower ranks already have?
It might not make sense for a GF to do petty's but even if you took the petty's away and put in something else it'd basically be a petty with a different name wouldn't it? |

Yeah, very good point. Unless you increased the benefits from taking part in these specific crimes. |
