Ever Feel Watched. Started by: Martyr on Jun 24, '11 03:47

Martyr slowly pulled into her small apartment and tried to shake the feeling she had from the docks earlier. Something just stirred in her that wasn't right about the feeling she got from it. Placing the car in park she slipped the keys from the ignition and then opened the door.

It had started to drizzle and the cool rain felt good on her face as she looked up and spied the moon off in the distances.
Still just seems off She caught herself whispering those words as she stepped up to the door and then shook her head as she placed the key in the lock.

"Patches.." She happily opened the door forgetting her thoughts awaiting her playful puppy to greet her, but then was left staring oddly at an empty doorway. Her shoulders sank as she shut the door behind her and then she tossed her keys on the table.

Suddenly the door slammed against her face as she felt herself being held tightly against the hard wood. Caught off guard she tried to scream out but was silenced as a hand covered her lips.

"Sometimes you can't avoid your gut feeling... I know you knew we were there." The gruff voice grabbed a handful of her hair and then drug her over to where her phone sat and then tossed her to the chair that sat before it. Martyr tried to make a dart for it but found a hand grasp her arm and pitch her back in her seat and then place a heavy hand on her shoulder. "Your a bit to small to try that one.. Pick up the phone." The voice rang out as if it was in her ear and she could feel the hot breath on her neck as she tried again to move away.

"Screw you!" Martyr didn't know what the man exactly wanted but she wasn't going to give in. Suddenly a hard sting hit the back of her head and everything seemed blurry for what only seemed like a moment.

Blinking a few times, Martyr realized everything around her was completely dark and she tried to stand up and realized maybe what had happened wasn't a dream. Suddenly a light flickered on and a man stood before her holding a gun to her head.

"Martyr. Speak into the god damn phone now." Martyr tried to reach for the phone as she realized then she couldn't move and a rope rubbed against her skin causing it to ache.

Her voice was a little more then a whisper as she choked back her pain and managed to speak in a meek voice.
"Hello.." She caught a gasp as she heard the voice on the other end.

Revolt was walking through the streets, wearing only a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt. He looked down to see that his clothes were soaked, but paid it no more mind as he reveled in the heavy rain falling from the clouds. He was on his way to Martyr's apartment. He had tried to get in touch with her, but tried unsuccessfully. He even tried calling Paul_Klint, but he hadn't heard from him either. That was all about an hour ago, he should have checked with Klint again, but he decided to just go check it out himself.

After a bit of a stroll, he realized that he almost passed up the apartment, caught up in his own mind. He noticed her car in the drive, and thought maybe he was just overreacting, being slightly paranoid. He began walking up, only to realize there wasn't a light on in the apartment. He tried to peer inside to see if, maybe, she was asleep on the couch, or something else. He couldn't see through the pure darkness in the room, until a crack of lightning flashed and lit the room for a second. He saw Martyr tied up, with a phone held to her head. A few strange men also occupied the room.

He tried to listen in quickly to see who she was talking to. He couldn't hear much, but heard her say the name "Klint", and he wondered what the hell could be happening. He wasn't going to sit idly by, and potentially allow her to get hurt. He moved silently towards the door, reaching into the back of his jeans and pulling out his gun.

"Here goes nothing..."

He opened the door quickly, remembering where each man stood. He fired off three rounds hoping to hit them somewhere that would give him enough time to get Martyr out of there. He only heard on shriek of pain, but hoped it was enough. He darted over to where Martyr was tied up, and deftly cut the ropes with a knife he always kept on him. He picked her up, and ran towards the bedroom. He kicked open the door, and darted inside, barring the door behind him. He sat Martyr against the wall as he heard thuds, and shouts against the door. He knelt in front of her.

Are you okay...?

Gods only know what is going through Klint's mind on the other end of the phone line...

Putting down the bottle of scotch, Paul glanced over at the phone as it rang noisly from the other room.  Who could this be at this hour? He said to himself as he walked into the other room, jingling the ice cubes in his glass as he leisurely picked up the phone off it's receivier.  Hello?

The glass fell from his grasp crashing on the floor as Paul listened to Martyr's voice muffled and full of fear accompanied by the voices of other men in the room. Martyr? Is that you!  His eyes grew wide as shots rang out on the other end followed by a scuffle and another familiar voice.

Are you okay?  Hearing what appeared to be the voice of a friend, he began shouting on the other end loudly.  What the hell is going on over there!!

Moments passed like an eternity as Paul heard more gunfire followed by more shouting.  Not wanting to be simply a bystander while his friends fight off an army, Paul slammed the receiver down and picked it up again as he hastily dialed a number, letting the rotary dail turn slowly in front of him as sweat poured down his face. Hello! Melody!  Get the guns!....I can explain later!..Like I said...meet me at Martyr's she's in trouble.  Not letting another moment pass he dropped the phone leaving it dangling by it's cord as he promptly headed out the door to the scene.

Slamming the shot of whiskey down on the kitchen counter, Melody decided that she'll get some shut eye on the couch. She laid down, got comfortable and be she knew it was off in another world. ((ring)) What the hell?! Quickly getting up to the phone and almost tripping on her feet she picked up the phone.

Hello! Melody! Get the guns! Klint shouted.

What why man?! Snapping to alertness as his voice was stern.

I can explain later! Like I said...meet me at Martyr's she's in trouble. And as fast as it happened he hung up.

Oh shit, oh shit! Dropping the phone, Mel ran to her bedroom and dropped to her knees grabbing a metal box under her bed. Opening it up she grabbed her dual pistols and grabbed another couple that Klint gave her. Putting the guns in a book bag, than finally placing her pistols inside her jacket pockets she ran back to the door she threw on her sweater and leather jacket. Dashing into the car, Mel sped off in the direction of Martyr's apartment. Finally notcing the rain, Mel rubbed the last bit of fatigue from her eyes and there she was at Martry's. Klint was just getting out of his car when Mel pulled up and got out.

Throwing the bag of guns at Klint, Let's go.

Martyr held her head tightly as she heard the thuds on the other side of the door. Her hair felt damp as she pulled her hand to her face and rubbed her eyes. Looking up at Revolt she saw the look on his face of fear and she looked at her hands covered in blood. Her eyes grew wide with fear as she realized she had smeared blood on her face and realized it came from the back of her head where she had been knocked out.

I.. yeah.. umm.. She held her head a moment and nearly screamed as she heard the men on the other side. "What in the hell is happening? The phone.. The.. Fuck.." Martyr slid off the bed and to the floor as she reached under the bed and pulled a single gun out that she kept hidden under some clothes she had thrown above them.

"Revolt..." He placed a finger to his lips as she started to speak and she knew he wanted her to shut the hell up and so he could hear what was going on outside the door. She slid along the side of the closet and held her gun tightly in her hand and waited as the thuds grew louder and seemed to echo across the room.

"MARTYR!!!! You can't stop us. We know what you did, and your friends are next." The mans voice boomed as she looked at Revolt with wide eyes as he stood infront of the door. Suddenly a loud bang shrieked out as she watched Revolt sink against the carpet.

Revolt feels the soft carpet underneath him, feeling a slight tinge of pain coming from his side. He looks up and sees a bullet hole in the door. "The bastards shot me..." At this point his fear was beginning to wash away as anger took over him. He pulled his shirt up, and saw that the bullet had only grazed him. He stood up and looked through the bullet hole to see no one in front of the door. He took a chance, and opened the door a crack to confirm his sight. When he opened the door he saw a body on the floor, blood pooling around it. He looked a bit further and saw the man who had been shouting sitting against the door, still breathing, and alive.

Revolt remembered three of them, and looked around for the third. He looked to the right and saw a man slowly backing away from both Klint and Melody who held the guns toward the man. You could see the fear in the mans eyes as he took small steps towards a near by window. He looked towards Melody and Klint, who appeared to have no intention of shooting the man.

"Are we letting him get away?"

As everyone looked towards Revolt, he could see the man make a dash for the window out of the corner of his eye. Without turning his head, Revolt pointed the gun and let out a shot. He then heard a crash as the man stumbled from the gun shot to his back, and fell through the window.

As the adrenaline began wearing off, he felt the burning in his side again. He looked back and forth between Klint and Melody, and suddenly got a slight smirk on his face.

"So which one of you missed and shot through the door...you hit me you know...?"

Revolt tries to hold a straight face, but can't help but crack a smile. He also noticed the rest of the group start to smile, and some laugh slightly.

Klint looked at Melody who looked at him and in turn they both looked at Revolt and shrugged their shoulders in disbelief.  It was the communists I tell you!  Paul blurts out drawing every-one's attention towards him as he blows the smoke off his weapon twirling it around his finger, holstering it quickly it in his pocket.  Looking around the room at the faces of those in denial, Paul shrugs again and makes his way over to the body by the window as he peers out glancing below at his fallen foe. Nobody appreciates a good comedian I tell ya.  And speaking of funny, you should see what you did to this poor chap, mate!

Stepping out carefully while making sure to avoid the shattered glass, Paul exits the building and goes through the man's pockets taking his wallet, some spare change and a single business card.  Flipping, the card over he takes a glance at the header.

Floyd's Disposal Services

"Getting the job done since 1919"

Stepping back into the building, he hands the card to Melody to take a look.  What do you make of it?

Melody shook her head at Klint and pats him on the back as he walked to the dead man laying on the ground.

Sometimes...just maybe...you should keep your mouth shut. Just a thought. Laughing at Klint she saw Revolt and Martry in the room.

She was juat about to say something when Klint grabbed her attention with the card. Well, well. Taking the card and reading it over, it didn't ring a bell.

To be honest I don't know what I can tell you about it. Never heard of it, but...I think this gentle over here can.

In the darkness Mel could see a man by the door and injured by a shot, most likely from Revolt. His gun laying some ways from his hand, she kicked it towards Klint for safe measures and knelt down just before the man. He was breathing heavy and clutching his stomach. Blood was beginning to pool around the man. She flipped the card around in her fingers and looked straight into the man's cold eyes. Putting the gun inside her jacket, she put the card in front of the man's eyes.

Can you tell me what this is? Or maybe you can tell me as to why the fuck you are here?

The man sat there breathing loudly yet remained silent. Just than he leaned forward slightly and looked directly into Melody's eyes.

Fuck you...you're all dead...

She looked towards Klint, Revolt and Martyr whom made there way slowly out of the room with a look of impatience and frustration.

Forgetting her pain in her head she kicked the man that was barely holding on in the face.

"Remember your friend over there holding the phone to my face?" Martyr punched him where the bullet penetrated his skin and watched as he winced over in pain. "TALK!" She screamed as rage over took her senses.

She watched as the man tried to keep his mouth shut and she drew her gun. "Now mind you I wont kill you slowly as she placed her gun to the palm of his hand which she had suddenly grasped and laid on the floor. "3... 2...." A loud shot rang out as she guy screamed in pain and cursed the heavens.

"The build.. by the docks a about 1/2 a mile from where you guys were.." She guy grasped his bloody palm as Revolt, Klint and Melody turned their heads at Martyrs actions. As soon as the information was leaked she placed the gun to the mans head.

"You lying to me?" Her voice seemed to boom from her vocal chords as she watched the man shake his head no and mutter to her. "I.. I.. wouldn't.." Before he could say another word Martyrs gun rang out and blood splattered the wall behind the man as he fell to the ground and red liquid spilled from his wounds.

Revolt looks at Martyr as she ends the villains life. He can't help but get a slight grin on his face. He looks over towards the others, and shakes his head slightly.

"I love it when she gets like this..."

Revolt walks over to the coffee table, and finds an empty pack of cigarettes lying open. He picks it up and takes one from the pack. He sticks it between his lips before walking over to the corpse in the window. Klint had said I should see what happened to the man. It was not a pretty sight. If the bullet didn't kill him, the multiple stab wounds from the window would have. He then makes his way towards the front door.

"To be honest...I have no idea what's going on...I'm just a gun...so you guys discuss what's going to happen next, and I'll be right outside enjoying my cancer."

Revolt opens the door, and steps outside; closing it behind him.

Report Post Tip

Melody stands up and takes a step back just in time as Martyr takes the shot into the man's head. Seeing his head ripped apart from the bullet, Mel can't help but look away. Walking back towards Klint she pushes her hair from her eyes pulls out a cigarette and lits it. Taking a drag and looking at Revolt make his way to the coffe table, she let's out the white smoke escape her lungs. Feeling her whole body now relax from the recent events and closes her eyes for a second.

...so you guys discuss what's going to happen next...

Hearing Revolt, see opens her eyes as he makes his way outside and into the night. Still holding the card in her hands, Mel handed it to Martyr to look at. Putting her hands in her pockets, Mel quickly realizes she has a flask in one of her jacket pockets. As Martyr tosses the card down onto the floor, Mel opens up the flask and smells the aromas escaping the top. Grinning slightly she takes a swig and hands it to Martyr.

This will calm your nerves girl. We'll get them. They won't get away with this. I say we go down there tonight. They will be expecting these bastards to be showing up with the grand news that they did their job correctly...last thing they will be expecting is us raining down on their parade. So what you two think?

Mel takes a seat on the arm of the couch and takes another big drag of her cigarette. Looking out the door she see's Revolt still standing outside. She blows the smoke from her lungs and eyes Klint and Martyr waiting for the next plans to unfold in their night.
