I've been meaning to get to this one.  I just have a lot of things that keep me from getting places in a timely manner.

Mxyz - I'd agree with you sir.  The streets used to be worth a look at least daily.  Now - if it's every three days I pop my head in here - I'd be shocked.  That said, I still love to read about what's driving the mobsters in this thing of ours.

I love a good debate.  I like to see the perspectives of everyone here.  However, there just doesn't appear to be the amount that there used to be.  Alas - it seems when we do that it often gets the "we're beating this with a dead horse" narrative.  I disagree with it, but it is what it is.  I wonder if the negativity of a few of us keep people from engaging.

I love reading about the motives and reasons for a takedown.  Some leaders are good at doing this, but many times we see blood and we're left listening to the crickets.  Frankly, I think it's a disrespect shown to the dead.  There has been at least one takedown since the revolution that came without any kind of explanation, which seems to go against the policies brought in for "our new world".

I also love hearing from the leaders of our society.  But - many appear to have the "Why bother?" attitude.  Maybe, they are right.  We're all loyal to them even if they aren't out here keeping us all informed, aren't we?  Money rolling in and big loyal guns are really all that matter in the end.  

In times gone by there was sometimes several but usually one predominant journalist that would publish a weekly newspaper, one chap in particular gained great acclaim - sadly his name is smudged in my journals. He held indepth interviews with leaders and others and often asked the questions that the young people in our world wanted to know lol and even some of the bold suits too. He also gave people the chance to give their explanation on important matters such as crew leaders ending up in the morgue, he was dedicated and it was highly respected in the community. Business would advertise and there would be a run down on the weeks events with cheeky funny glibs in there. It should not be down to a single person to extrapolate words from peoples mouths but maybe this could be a start? It certainly had people talking over a coffee after they had purchased their copy. My father was interviewed by him and was extremely impressed but the publication. I agree about listening to the crickets....Bluntly it's either cowardly or apathy that results in silence out here....we can call the 'why should I card I don't need to explain myself' then play your card and come out here to say I won't be explaining none of your business go away. At least then we get a sense of a person, crew, city and maybe are reminded of our place if someone feels particulary defensive. I likely will be about to be for talking so directly. I prefer the streets recognise my face if it is only because of the awkward name I was bestowed from my father due to him loosing our family savings and most of his liver function on a very long night playing poker.....but that is another story....if only there was a journalist nearby looking for a tasty nostalgic story on how hardon came to be, no pun intended.....honest!
