I moved to the city of Detroit with dreams and ambition to help make it everything it could be, a city of One, a city of a united and trusted Mafioso that would make the country proud. Corktown was my base but the city itself was my home and whilst working alongside some of the greatest leaders we started to achieve this dream however, with the untimely demise of Godfather Chairman Takkar this was halted, but like the hands of a clock things keep moving and forward we went to continue the dream and then like a hammer on an anvil another blow to lose the great JackMezzo and Avocato. 

After a time I inherited the great district of Bricktown, here in the centre, in order to help progress this even further wth Elle_E_Ott, FishTheKitty, GeoMassachi and my own auth of PeterMcNeil we would build this bright future together. For you see a city is not about individuals, yes it is individual districts, individual families in those districts, and different ideas and ways of working but all of these pieces, all of these cogs, must work together in order to make the city thrive, to promote trust and maintain the balance for all.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what brings me here before you today. 

Recently, without any conversation, a new auth. was made here in Detroit.  It is not uncommon or unreasonable for a Godfather to authorise one of their own to start their own family.  So it is time of celebration, surely?  Well, that is where it becomes tricky, you see as I mentioned earlier all of the cogs must work together in order to promote success but if just one of those cogs decides to push in a different direction, without working with the others, then things just grind to a halt or breakdown entirely. This takes away from the vision of a united city.

The auth. was not discussed among the families of Detroit, let alone with me the Godfather Chairman; there was no courtesy, no regard for how the city would run.   We have families who are trying to make their mark in an already busy area. 

A question must then be asked as to why this was felt necessary, and believe me this was asked, but a response was not forthcoming.   This lack of communication initially, and then failure to have a simple discussion afterwards did not give the trust that we actively were trying to promote here in Detroit from the beginning. 

You may chose to think my rational was unreasonable, or not, but regardless I did what I did because I believe that for Detroit to work it needs to be united.

Smash

Some might say that would seem like a bit harsh of a reaction against the decision of another godfather running their own district. Some might say that. 

Others might say perhaps there is a reason you're not saying. 

I'm not sure though. 

It is always an unfortunate time when you're working or planning on achieving some grand or magnificent and you have all the working parts to do so, or you think! Sometimes the parts may work, but mistakes happen, the machine begins to break and the parts become rather unworkable, or useless.

I always see through to a clear future, I know this must have sat on your mind for some time before taking action against your former comrades. It is sad to see the men and women of the city to fall in the manner they did, but it is for a bright future for the rest of Detroit for you, Peter and Fish.

In the same position, I would have acted similarly, if I am to be head of a city and my captains act on their own interests, and not the interest of yourself or the city, well, it is a clear indication that something went wrong along the way.

I hope those that lay dead in the attack rest now and I wish that you Smash rebuild your city to the standard you would like. As always, it is nice to hear from you again Chairman Smash.

Demon H brushes off his Los Angeles Bulldogs jersey, and lights a smoke as he slides his way out of the crowd.

"A city with a solid base, and a unified goal for the future are always some of the safer places to call home. Just like a home of any other a small leak, or infestation can cause that foundation to crack and crumble leaving the house above in ruin, this is no different in this world of ours. When you begin to allow things to slide, and that one thing becomes another, and another people begin to take advantage of that. It's always good to nip issues when they present themselves, and if the cause cannot correct him or herself that leaves the people with little option. I can't say what I would do in the shoes of the Chairman, but I do not think Smash acted out of line whatsoever. Let the rumor mill spin, it will either way, at least people can see that you are willing to protect the things you believe in, even if it is some machinery."

Demon takes a rip off his cigarette, inhaling the smoke back through his nose and slipping into the crowd.

The tragic events are something that happens in this thing of ours, friends were lost, business avenues closed, but I believe GFC Smash when he says it was for a unified vision of Detroit and that this was not an easy decision to make on his part.  

I believe those that have fallen will be a loss, but that the city will continue, and it will remain strong.   I have no doubt there are some among the progeny of those who died that will bear ill will, and that is understandable.   I would simply encourage those to speak with GFC Smash for any answers they seek, I'm sure he will furnish answers to any questions that he can reasonably answer.
