“Boss, you know we are having a good time right now, and this high-quality sake really adds up to it, but can you tell us how you managed to put such a brilliant plan together? I mean, people been telling tales about it, putting it as a legend among the criminals. How the events unwrapped, how it ended, little do we know.” – Asked the man at Dokuhebi’s right. “Yes boss! The Opium Massacre has a great story behind it, i can feel it. Perhaps we can even learn a thing or two from it.” – Replied the Other man, this time at Dokuhebi’s left. Looking both sides with a smirk on his face, Dokuhebi puts his lit cigarette aside on the ashtray and proceeds to fill his Giant mug with steam hot tea. “Well, it’s not a big deal of a story to be quite honest, but whatever, we have time before the next meeting” – Dokuhebi take a quick glimpse on his pocket clock. “We will have to go back 5 years ago, when those prick wanna-be-gangsters from the West Side were still alive and pretending to do shit.” – Dokuhebi takes a sip from his tea mug. – “In fact, i will start from the very beginning.” “Eight years ago, when i had recently came back from Japan, i have noticed that Chicago had it’s share of low life criminals, not connected with the mafia to be very clear, and that the Opium was a quite requested product, in fact, Chicago was under it’s dangerous potential since eighteen-eight. Therefore, it’s just natural to see it as na opportunity to establish a steady commerce and income.” – Dokuhebi uses his fingers to emphasize the word Commerce. – So, i started to study the city very carefully and found out what i needed.” Dokuhebi gazes away… He had mapped down every small time Opium dealer and Opium Houses in Chicago, as well the name and common gathering and loitering places of the so-called dealers. It wasn’t an easy task. In reality, it took him about five months of intel gathering. Meanwhile, Dokuhebi who had already stablished his reputation and power back in Japan, arranged a meeting with his Oyabun, the head of the Yakuza in Kobe, Dokuhebi’s place of origin. Upon attending the meeting, Dokuhebi showed his Oyabun all of the information gathered and so, after a few hours, both agreed to invest in such venue. Shortly after, they acquired a big property of land in China, seeking a place to produce their own supply of high-quality poppy seeds, the main product of the Opium as a drug. It would take at least a few years for a good result. “Boss?” – The man at the right breaks the silence. – “Are you alright?” “Oh… Sorry, i was thinking about back then.” – Dokuhebi straightens his back and lights another cigarette. – “Where was i? Ah, yeah, i ended gathering all the information needed while also fixing a steady production of opium in another country alongside an old partner i had back then. So, time passed and I finally had the opportunity to put the real plan in motion. Problem was that after two or three years of my arrival, the police started to put more pressure on drugs, so I had to add another step on my plan.” – Dokuhebi signs to the waiter. They were sitting in a restaurant near the main Avenue. “Can you bring me more tea?”. “Ok, now that i had sorted the product, i had to sort the distribution. You see, the mayor wanted to build a reputation and ordered the arrest of anyone involved in drugs. Yeah, it could certainly fuck it all up, so i finally came to a good solution!” – The two men quickly gave Dokuhebi and surprised, yet with a curiosity aspect to it. “So?” – Both men asked. “So? So i fucking built a Confucianism temple in a far piece of land from downtown. I even invited the mayor himself to it’s inauguration, despite him being a racist and xenophobic twat. In fact, many people in Chicago hated the idea of another philosophy and religion being preached in it’s street, to be even more fair, it was pretty hard to settle down, but after a few months, people bought the idea. It was the perfect faced. While my guys taught Confucianism on the upper portion of the temple, with the perfect disguise, I had a few guys walk the major streets of Chicago going from door-to-door carrying the words of wisdom.” – Another sip on the steaming hot tea. “By doing so, i managed to create a giant distribution net across Chicago, unnoticed by the police, unnoticed by the low life criminals. And quite frankly, it turned out very great. Since i had the best quality Opium in town, and my guys were discrete upon distributing it, business went sky high. Sadly, after one year of pure success, my old-time partner was shot down in Tokyo by a rival Yakuza Clan, which put me at the top, being his successor. Certainly, it was a major set-back, but also gave me more power and soldiers to put forth the last phase of the plan, which came to be known as “The Opium Massacre”. The man on the left stops Dokuhebi’s for a second. “Eh… You feel good using a philosophy and religion as a front for your drug business?” – The man realizes he confronted Dokuhebi. – “I mean, with all due respect boss.” Dokuhebi nods and proceeds to explain. “Why would i? Religion is a drug for the masses in one way or another. Plus a front is a front. There is the real deal going on, of course. People will still be welcome to learn Confucianism. It’s just that i have put two things together, only know by a few. It’s merely a distribution faced. Nothing more. The drug is dealt to whom seeks it, to whom recuperation is beyond return. To whom destiny has already been set, if you think like that.” “Anyways, after the death of my old partner, i became the leader of the Yakuza Clan i started in, which gave me a lot more power. I now had over five hundred men under my command in Japan. So, i did what i needed to.” First of all, Dokuhebi had to avenge his Oyabun. He ended spending one entire month in Japan, between bullets and knifes, between criminals and cops, only seeking to honor his late boss and partner. After a bloodbath that lasted exactly third days, Dokuhebi’s clan was proclaimed victorious in deadliest war ever seen in Japan’s crime underworld, which has put his Clan at full control of Kobe. Now back at Chicago, Dokuhebi has brought twenty of his best men to finish his plan once and for all. Although it wasn’t a common thing for criminals to have access to heavy weapons in Japan, all of them were well versed in war tactics and heavy weaponry, making them feel more than comfortable to use the heavy Lewis Guns Dokuhebi had bought. “And what was it that you needed to do boss?” – The man on the right asked. “Avenging my old boss was the top priority, taking over the entire Opium business in Chicago was another.” – Dokuhebi pressed his hair towards the back of his head as if he were combing it into a menacingly position. – “Obliviously i took things very serious and delt both situations accordingly. I took over Kobe region and brought twenty yakuzas with me.” Dokuhebi still had his mapping of Chicago Opium spots and dealers, making it even more easily. In the twentieth day of June of that year, at exactly three past midnight, Dokuhebi Launched the Opium Massacre, deploying his soldiers on strategic spots and unleashing them upon his rivals. It took only three hours before the entirety of the west side of Chicago was fully taken over, resulting in fourth-two deaths on the rival side, and none on Dokuhebi’s. “You brought war against them, right? I can only assume it all went as planned Boss.” – Asked the man at the left. “It certainly was. In three hours i managed to took over the Opium Business in the West Side, but also attracting the eyes of Chicago’s notorious mafiosi. This was my real objective. Even if i am half Italian, since my father was, this showdown was the only way of gaining full respect and proving my worth.” – Dokuhebi signs the waiter and asks for the bill. – “Once i took over the West Side, i have been given the opportunity to work with them. Years passed and i have proven my worth, being trusted as the number two in command of the Black Cobra family. After paying the bill, Dokuhebi stands up and proceeds to walk outside and towards his car, which was parked behind the restaurant. Upon approaching it, the two men slowly tried reaching for their holsters with the clear intention of murdering Dokuhebi. Unnoticed by the two men, they were quickly approached by four heavily tattooed men, all of them dressed in lousy black suits, opened shirts allowing the gold chains to appear. Scarier than that was the fact that all of the men were carrying real samurai swords, and in a quick motion, both the two men ended surrendered by the razor-sharp blades on their neck. Dokuhebi lights another cigarette. “Now that we are all together, we can start our meeting.” – He takes a puff. – “I knew from the beginning you two were working for the thug-based gang operating near my area in West Side. I knew since the beginning you real boss is one of the past dealers that survived the Opium Massacre. It was just a bait. Now you both will tell me how to find this bastard.” – The yakuza men disarm the two now unemployed bodyguards and proceeds to tie them tightly. They all drove down to a cabin on the outskirts of Chicago where the torture session took place for hours. After learning everything he wanted to know, Dokuhebi slit both of their necks, while ordering the yakuza men to remove the bloody corpses and deliver them near the dealer’s hiding spot with a clear message on both of the bodies. Two still lit and smoking Opium pipes, one on each of the two men chests. Another war was about to happen in Chicago’s streets. |
