Nostradamus. Fascinating individual, right? Maybe not so much. 

For those of you who don't know who Nostradamus is, or what he has done, I suggest you go to your local library to form your own opinion. But he's an author who predicts prophecy in his books. Over a thousand of predictions for the future…. And to some people, Nostradamus is right, and he's successfully predicted some of the horrible events to plague this world. 

But in reality, the man isn't that amazing as he might seem at first glance. His prophecies are taken out of context to form what people see as the truth. To push his narrative vaguely. To predict so many prophecies for the future that it's not surprising that one or two come true eventually. 

Nostradamus is not psychic. He's not special. He's a storyteller in his own right, who believed his own bullshit. I've yet to see a flying space pirate burning the world in its own hell. 

Sorry if there's any fans out there. Facts are facts. 

And for a while, I've noticed a trend of anonymous letters flying around in the countryside. Certain individuals who prefer to hide behind a mask and not put their name or reputation to their words. Sending US postal mail without the return address, if you will. 

And you're probably thinking, "Well, shit. I've gotten those anonymous letters". And I have too, friends. I have too. Instead of reaching out to you, they send a middle man or take advantage of the postal service. Throwing some cash in to make sure you don't know who the package is from. It's…. Well, I dunno.

To me, it's Nostradamus. And that brings me around to my point. 

It's someone who thinks they know what they're talking about. Maybe feeding me some half truths. Pushing their own agenda and vaguely stretching things to help them do so. Planting seeds of paranoia, maybe. Saying something to you about how they might really feel, because they don't have the courage to do it formally, maybe. The anonymous letters come in many shapes and sizes. Where some are friendly, some take the turn.

And Nostradamus does this… why? Well, same reason any of us would, really. The power isn't in our hands and misleading information can be almost dangerous as a man with a gun. Push your agenda in the right way, to the right person, and you might be surprised in the results.

And just like Nostradamus, if you throw enough shit at the wall, some of it will stick eventually. Even if it has to be taken out of context. 

Paranoia is a tool for Nostradamus. Just like it is for fortune tellers, mediums, church healers, and magicians. It's understandable if you've been a victim to this type of psychological behaviorism.

In conclusion, anonymous letters and their prophetic predictions… are bullshit. And sometimes it's your belief in it that makes it come true to begin with.

If I listened to that bullshit, I should've already seen a grave many moons ago. And if I do, it's not because they knew shit, it's because fate catches up with all of us eventually.
