I remember when the long-gone NathanExplosion asked us on the streets how the leadership had done since the so-called revolution. Back then I thought the same as I do today when forming an opinion on recent events. It kinda depends on what the fuck you want for this place. I'm not happy that so many good people died, but I do see opportunities for the future. Let's face it, I'm not known for my excitement and involvement in this world, so personally I didn't lose that much apart from friends. But then again, who didn't lose friends this week?

Long ago I applauded Nathan and the others who laid aside differences from history, joined forces and fought for a common cause. Likewise I can even appreciate a string of recent rogues that knocked on the door of the established elite and told them to do better. In that same way, there soon will be an announcement by A or B that gives an insight into what happened this week for which reasons and you know what, there’s probably an argument in there that warrants an applause. But in all of these efforts we escape from something, but we never try to go somewhere.

And it makes sense. When it rains we welcome those that offer an umbrella. When it’s scorching hot - hello Canada - you parade in those that bring the water. But one day the rain stops and you wonder why you’re waving an umbrella around. At some point you’d piss your pants if you kept drinking water like crazy. We focus on the short-term, ignoring the long-term, leaving us disappointed when the future eventually arrives.

Most, if not all, of us are first-aid revolutionists. Armed with molotovs we burn down what we don’t want, leaving us empty handed in the aftermath of war. But our violence isn’t the solution. Tebo gone isn’t the solution. Asher gone isn’t the solution. Any of those who died and them being gone; it ain’t the solution. Nor were any in their lifetime the solution to the main problem of this place. And neither is Magnolia, Wayne or whoever going to be the solution in the future. And do I even need to bring up the rogues who think they did their public service, now likely cowering away instead of collaborating in coming up with an actual plan on how to be better?

Our problems persist from generation to generation, regime to regime, because we don’t define what we actually want. We’re excellent in identifying what we don’t want, but that doesn’t paint a clear picture of the opposite. We need to define what’s good and instill processes that keep us there. This moment in time is an opportunity for that.

• Want active crewleaders and members?
  Propose and lobby for initiatives that reward those that make the difference and punish those that slack. Even if that means you and yours might be at risk when your responsibilities of civilian life take priority.
• Want to feel dynamic, useful?
  How about you reinforce the new guy on the block, instead of friends that accept your sorry ass in their family for old times sake.
• Not confident that your current leader is gonna be the change you seek?
  Inquire about their visions for the future and how you can be a part of that.
• Don’t like what you hear?
  Ask to swap crews and join someone that has a better story for you.
• See leaders that don't do a proper job?
  Engage them, help them, confront them or make them look pale compared to yourself when giving it a shot.
  If you bring something better, it can only get you appreciation and inspire others. 
• Missing the spirit and excitement?
  Join those experiment, competition, give-em-a-chance cities rather than join up in the city with the strongest reputations. The establishment only thrives on your quiet support out of convenience.

With the war to an end, don't only move on from your problems, but break the status-quo and grab your responsibility to define the bar and rally those around you to collectively meet a higher standard. The success of our future is in the sum of our efforts to do better.

Thank you Ghostbuster for this well thought out and presented speech. It's a shame it hasn't had many listeners just yet, as you really have made some great points. Our world is cyclical in many ways, and while violence is sometimes necessary and unavoidable, that does not make it "the answer."

This is a really fantastic take on what our world is, at it's core. Everyone wants to change things, yet rarely do we find people who both cause the change and the commit to the effort of improving things after that change happens. Most people are only concerned with what needs to change, rather than how to do it.

None of us will be here forever. It is the way of our world. Inevitably, we will all perish at some point. Such is life. Yet we should strive to fill what little time we do have here with progress and improvement for that world regardless. Mahatma Gandhi said something that has always stuck with me: "Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it." We can never know what kind of impact our time may have had on those who come after us, so it is paramount that we spend that time doing all we can to further our world.

I wanted to re-highlight what you said in this section, where you not only point out common concerns and issues people have, but suggest remedies that they can pursue in response to them. I applaud you for your thoroughness and dedication in this speech. Likewise, should anyone have ideas for rebuilding or improving our world, I implore them to bring it up with their crewleader - or directly to me, where I shall also assist in framing their words and ideas in the best possible light.

I love this speech Ghostbuster, It has somewhat elegance about it, you approached the situation with great thought.

If i'm honest about what I would like to see is some sort of a weekly update from the Crew Leaders/ Godfathers of this world. 

This can be as simple as recent events that happen on a regular basis and those that don't happen on a daily basis.

Also I would like to see all upper structure come up with some ideas of Competitions I know that there were some great competitions in Philly in the past my Father would tell me about a great competition put on by the late Takkar, An Easter Egg hunt and a Pick pocketing competition.

I know that since the last set of deaths there isn't much money around at the moment so It isn't so much about the rewards but more about getting everyone engaged.

There is also one more thing I would love to see more interaction with the Crew leaders and members quite often they are just all left to their own devices and  not much is said between the Crew Leader and his associates, This can also be carried out by the Crew Leaders hands but it is always nice to hear from the top dog.

wells - like I've always said - We should create solutions, not problems.  I'll be honest - I don't think I've ever said it out loud, but I often think it when I see people being asshats around here.  Or anywhere, really.

Violence/war, to me, is inevitable.  It is (in my opinion) the main way to create palpable change here.  It makes way for the new and refreshes the world in many ways.  As Wayne suggested - this is a cyclical place and eventually the new becomes the old and it's all but inevitable that the monotony gets to be too much for everyone here.  Personally, I don't mind the changes and the battling.  It re-engages some, finds opportunity for others, and has the ability to kindle/rekindle relationships.  I just hope that we can all pull up our big boy pants at the end of the day and move forward semi-harmoniously in the name of a better product for all.  The best leaders aren't ones with big guns, hundreds of bodyguards, or 800% prowess.  It's those that can make decisions for the greater good.  We need those people active and thriving here.

Ghostbuster, thanks for the thoughts and the reminder.  Let's move on and enjoy each other for awhile.

You are right no matter how long you are on the the top war is always inevitable sometimes it may be peaceful for a week other times almost a year, Lets hope that the new leaders can maintain some peace for a while
