A Bona-fide Case of Mistaken Identity Started by: Roman on Jul 11, '11 14:36

Roman just got through with a meeting in New York with Godfather Premeir.  Certain events had transpired on that night which would shape the immediate face of his long-time friend's city.  As he stepped out of Premeir's base of operations he was met by a throng of people from the 7 cities who had heard about the goings on from the night before and were eager to get the scoop.

"Thank you for coming tonight.  As most of you saw, New York lost a Consigliere, Capo, and Wise Guy tonight.  We lose people every day in this life, but it is the hows and whys that keep us coming back for more.  I'll touch on what happened, and really take a deeper look into an issue that appears to be plaguing our society."

Roman paused to look at the folks who were listening in before continuing.

"Last night, a New York Consigliere by the name of Ant was killed.  Shortly after, witness statement requests went out throughout the cities, and nothing was found.  Following quickly on the heels of Ant's death, a Wise Guy associate of Bonaserita's fell into the Obituaries as well.  It was quickly determined that Bonaserita (or so we thought) was killing Grif's members internally without alerting any witnesses.  Bonaserita was quickly dealt with by Premeir, but this would not turn into a normal death."

"It turns out Bonaserita comes from a bloodline that had been guilty of these type of actions before.  Immediately following his death, there were howls both in public and private portions of IRC Avenue about how unsurprising these actions were.  It was a dogpile of such proportion that one person even lost their life for egregiously crossing the line of how human beings act in public.  There was only one problem, something that didn't feel quite right..."

Roman took a moment to gather himself, as the events that unfolded were something the aged Godfather had never seen before during all his time in power.

"Bonaserita himself was innocent.  Someone gained access to the privileged information kept between a Right Hand Man and a Crewleader and exploited it.  Bonaserita was killed to protect the rest of Grif's family from this intruder, but nevertheless the point doesn't change that Bonaserita himself never betrayed his family."

"It was a stunning sight to see when people began dismissing the action as something they just assumed Bonaserita would be guilty of and chastising New York for trusting such a man.  In the end though, it was not Bonaserita who was at fault, it was nobody's fault, just a random tragedy that befell an already tragic bloodline."

"I myself am one for second chances, not many past that, but I'm usually willing to kick the tires on someone to see where their bloodline is at.  I just want to send out a warning to folks, because everything isn't always as it seems in this world, and pre-determinations can end your life if you are arrogant enough to bring them into the public eye.  In a world where your eyes can be deceived consistently, it is important for us to try to look deeper, a lesson many young mafioso can take to heart."

Nodding, He waited for GodFather Roman to finish and then stepped forward

As Roman said, Thank you all for coming. As I am sure everyone is well aware, of what had happen last night, my city suffered the lost of 3 good people.

Now, I will be the first to admit, I was one of the people who was quite upset last night, and i believe i had more then a right to be upset.

When the pieces fit together, you can go on your assumptions to what happen, and my assumptions were proven incorrect.

It appears it was one of those things that just can't be explain of the why or how.

I would like to Thank Roman, and my city would like to thank for Chicago, in their help and efforts of helping me solve this problem.

I would also like to thank the people who had enough common sense to be respectable mafiaso and not laugh and giggle at the tragic events.

I am also sorry to Donnie Brasco family line for some of things i may have said last night.

Turns to Roman, and walks away with him

Chuckle takes some time out from abusing Mr Pickles and listens to the discussion of the esteemed Godfathers before him. He was always present in every throng of people and given the shit that EvilClown had been conjuring up for the Chuckle Knuckle, he thought he should try and get an exclusive. He listened to the men before adding his own two penneth.

As both Roman and -Premeir have said, it is incredibly easy to jump to conclusions. It tends to be a crime of those with the longer established bloodlines; we've heard the tales of pretty much every idiot under the sun after all. So, when we see someone of less than reputable character with something a sketchy background, it is usually safe to assume the worst. However in this case, it would seem that the simplest explanation was not the correct one and there was much more to the story than originally meets the eye.

I think we can all be grateful that we live in an era of tolerance and second chances. I'm certain that everyone here has an aspect of their bloodline's past that they would love to change if they got the opportunity. That, unfortunately, remains impossible, but the opportunity to reinvent yourself and to become far better than you have been before is available to all.

It hasn't always been that way and it probably won't be again in the future. Perhaps some people should consider taking up this charity whilst they have the chance. It won't last forever.

Pickles listens with serious intent (for a change).

I would like to applaud Premeir and Roman for stepping up and clearing the air about the Brasco line.  Before people accuse me of just kissing my Godfather's ass, I'd ask "what would you have done?"  How would you have reacted?  Demonic posession, for lack of a better explanation, is something we usualy only hear about in church.  We never expect to deal with it in our lives.  This is a tragedy not even Thomas Hardy could have written.

Pickles turns and walks away . . .

It's refreshing to see two Godfathers come to the streets and clear the air regarding an unfortunate situation. Condeming the supposed offending party and sweeping this under the rug would have been the easy thing, but that isn't how Chicago and New York handle things. These Godfathers have made the most of a bad situation, and have taken on the responsibility of dealing with this in an open and honest manner, something we can all learn a valuable lesson from.

i just want to know something you say bonaserita didn't kill anyone? but same time i just find it confusing how u became so sure of it cause i see you guys say there were no witnesses alert or anything so who did it then if bona was innocent and how u got to know he was innocent, sadly he died though but i am just curious to know how you deal with things like that since am new to the game and barely know nothing about it yet

EXC,

MikeHunt hears the conversation and gives his opinion...

My cousin MichaelPalmero was a victim of this misunderstood betrayl if you will. The journals he left behind, left entries only stating good things about Bonaserita. The actions taken upon were only out of bad luck if you will. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was unlucky to have died under the wrongful hand of this mishap. As things move foward with this speech, I only hope that others can aswell. Shit happens for the wrong reasons.

Rest in peace Michael, and Ant. I can only hope this doesn't smash Bonaserita's reputation much.

the real explanation cant be stated here without an uneeded trip  to ooc avenue

Exc, It is an unusual situation. Refer to your mailbox and refer to a letter sent by a gentleman named Squishy.

Commendable that two Godfathers would come out to publically clear a bloodline after an oddly bloody evening. Salut

After a long, emotional night, Grif takes in the revealing words with a sigh of relief.

It’s extremely difficult dealing with the events that transpired last night.  My family and city lost three hard working members taken too early in their lives before developing to their full potential. It’s unbelievably frustrating but what’s done is done. May their souls rest in peace.

He pauses for a moment and continues.

There have been several people who have approached me and I’m sure more of you who have wondered why I made Bonaserita my RHM based on her bloodline’s past.  It’s a simple reason and I’ll keep it short.  Let me answer it with a question that was brought up in the streets not too long ago.  Why is your family’s RHM currently holding that position?  The list goes on and on and everything mentioned could reflect Bona in some manner. Maybe I'm too forgiving but when I'm approached by someone who I know has the experience, dedication, and knowledge to do something great in this thing of ours and proves that to me, why should I not give that person a second chance?

As my Godfather has said, thanks to everyone who offered their assistance and I appreciate those who have expressed their condolences after the situation.

Alabama waits for those before her to stop talking, before coming out of the crowd and addressing to the two Godfathers in her presence.

As many have said already, its refreshing to see such estinguished members of our community come out here to clear the name of someone who was wronged. From what everyone has said, am I to understand that some sort of zombie like takeover of Bonaserita's body took place, and was then used to cause harm to others? What a tragic and completely unusual state of affairs. Again, i'm delighted to see such wrongs publicly righted and i'm sure Donnie's family will feel the same, though obviously his death is going to be a sore one in all this.

Listens up his Godfather's speech with a very serious expression in his face and with full of respect, after a second, Luca murmurs a couple of words to his friend who`s listening the Godfather's speech..

Dude, you see, not only a noob action that posts you to the six feet under..smiles..but also the way you bring the problems to your crewleaders and the way you explain the things..Watch your words and think twice before you act and before you talk..i think, imperturbability is also a key in this thing of ours..May God bless those souls who passed away in this tragedy

Then The Godfather Premeir starts his speech, his voice stops Luca, who`s eager to talk and keep advicing his friend..Luca stops his whisper-speech

Looks on solemnly, with a big sigh he rubs his chin.

I have known Bonasera's family line a long time, I have watched as he attempted to turn around from a previous indisgression which i understood at the time even if i never agreed with.  My sympathies go out to each victim here due to the nature of the incident.  I can understand the frustation and disgust over the cirrcumstances of the death and can only wish their next of kins the best of luck rebuilding.

Klasky listens carefully and intently to all that is being said, one by one the mafioso speak after the 2 GF's addressed tha masses.

Well, it has to be said this is such a shitty way to bail out of our way of life, we all know that death could come at any moment, but in this way,in this fashion, truly is disturbing.

Again, to re-iterate what has been said previously, it is so very refreshing to see these things explained to all, obviously with something as serious as this, it is expected by many, but still refreshing nonetheless.

It's a shame to see this happen to fellow mafioso, I do hope, and it certainly looks like, thier kin will get over this and excel once more.

Having said his small piece, Klasky slips back into the shadows to let others have thier say.

Im glad that Bona's name have been cleared and is welcome once again to the city where he is given a chance to make a name for himself .

With Godfather Roman making the speech, and Godfather -Premier backing him up it only shows how outstanding they are and clarifying what had happen last night. On what could have been a scar on one's bloodline for life.

May the city of Chicago and New York work hand in hand always.

*On the way back from the funeral home Paris steps into the crowd to listen to the words being spoken before him*

It is indeed a tragic and highly unusual set of circumstances that arose. I'm deeply saddened personally as I lost some close personal friends, who died in their prime and before their time. It doesn't need me to say but Godfather Roman and Premeir did absolutely the right thing in what they judged at the time of the events, we get judged not on this life but of bloodlines... it's human nature to act that way. I'm a firm believer in offering second chances and a chance of redemption It's just unfortunate that this tanglement led to the deaths it did, i'm also glad that Donnie's name has been cleared, it's just a shame that his tainted past led to his demise

Out of the flames, pheonix's will arise

*Looks up into the air only to see pigeons*

I'm truly relieved to hear that Bonaserita was innocent of all charges. I had been getting to know her and I had troubles wrapping my head around the notion that she could do such a thing.

This is truly tragic, but at least her name has been cleared in the end and we will all remember her fondly and watch her son blossom into this way of life just as his mother did.

Simplicity came to the streets, which was something normal for her these days, and listened to Roman's speech. She then listened as Premeir admitted to being wrong, as did Roman. Nodding at those there standing amongst side her she then spoke.

"I must say it takes a lot for people of such high rankings and respect to admit they were wrong. For you both to come here today to clear Bonaserita's name deserves a round of applause. I don't have to much else to say because many have said it before me now. Yet, what I will say is that you both have proven once again that you are great leaders and I'm proud to work for you."

Simplicity felt a bit bad that she didn't have too much else to say, but she didn't know the bloodline nor what really went on. So with her few words that she said she then smiled and made her leave. Her car was waiting for her and she told him to take her on to the nearest winery as she was planning a grand get together soon.
