Anyone here a fan of one of the worlds hardest sports competitions. 3500km over 22 days. Speeds of over 70mph. Climbs of over 2600m. It takes a true athlete. And it has been shown through tests (firstly Indurain, then Armstrong) that pro cyclists are the fittest men in the world.

It will be interesting for me to find out if any Americans still enjoy it since Lance Armstrong retired?

So what of Le Tour? Yes, it has a history of drug cheats (but no more then the 100m in Athletics), but it is a superb race. I have been an addict for as long as I can remember. Currently, I love Cav. If more British athletes showed his single-mindedness to winning, we would have better football, rugby, atheltics, swimming, etc, etc, teams. I feel for Wiggins, as he had so much time over Contador when he got his crash, that he defo had a chance of the podium. I do now love the way that Britain is now represented with a strong showing, unlike the 90s when it was just Chris Boardman.

My prediction> one of the Schlakes as Contador seems to be a spent force now he cant dope.
