Eyzlee looked at the women on the other side of the table through her glass of water as she took a sip out of it. Through the curve of the glass the women looked almost pleasant, but when Eyzlee sat the glass back down on its coaster it was not the case. Raine's mouth was pursed, legs crossed and when her eyes met Eyzlee's they silently said she was not happy to be here with her. So how have you been? She hadn't seen Raine since Santino's funeral and that was not a good time. Half of his family glared at her through the whole reception figuring she was the one that shot Santino. If only they knew how Santino and her were trying to make things better. That wasn't the only reason Santino's sister hated her, when Raine told her family that she was joining with the Chicago family soon Santino was not pleased. Eyzlee assumed Raine thought she convinced Santino that Raine being in the mafia wasn't a good idea. Raine ignored her question and didn't speak until the waiter came and took their orders. Eyzlee's patience was running thin, she wanted to patch things up between her and Raine. Specially now since they ran with the same crew, but she wasn't going to bust her chops because of one stubborn person. Okay Raine, obviously you don't like me. Just answer one question. Why? |

Raine tapped her fingers on the table and wondered if she made a mistake by agreeing to meet Eyzlee for lunch. She didn't want to go on a trip down memory lane with her former sister in law. Every time she thought about Santino her blood boiled. When Ezylee questioned her she took the opportunity to vent. I'll tell you why. Santino had you on a pedestal like you were some sort of perfect princess, but you were far from that. You lied to him and left him. As if that wasn't bad enough he tried to keep me out of the business. You probably had something to do with that. Trying to keep her temper in check Raine lowered her voice as she continued talking. All the years you and Santino were making money in the mob I was working as a secretary barely making enough money to pay my rent and eat every week. Do you even know who our ancestors were? They were rich and powerful people in the mafia. Now that Santino is gone I'm going to get what is rightfully mine. I might even run my own family someday. Raine paused and picked up her drink. She felt a little bad about taking her anger out on Eyzlee, but she was the closest person to Santino. Before Raine could continue talking a familiar voice in the restaurant called out to her and Eyzlee. Raine turned around and saw Dominick_Scalese walking towards them. His face looked beat up and bloody. Raine was concerned about him. She pulled out one of the empty chairs at the table for him. Sit down. What happened to you, Dominick? |

Eyzlee was shocked when Raine just went off. She really didn't know what she was talking about as Santino obviously didn't hold Eyzlee on a pedestal, if he actually did he wouldn't have cheated on her. It looked like little sister over here needed to be told her grand brother also lied and equally left her. Just as Eyzlee was about to tell the girl off a familiar face came into view. Dominick eagerly took the open chair Raine offered him. Hey Dom.... Dominick gave each girl a faint smile before he went into his story. It seems he was over in New York selling drugs. Putting the nice profit into his wallet he started to walk out of the back alley, but was punched in the face just as he was about to step into the street. Dom went on telling them that he later woke up unconscious with all his money gone and looking like he was ran over by a car. "There was two to of them, I caught one of their names." Dom shook his head and smiled. "Stupid bastards, everyone knows not to name names. Anyway the guys name was Vasque." |

What the hell? The anger Raine vented at Eyzlee moments before switched to the muggers Dominick told them about. Although Raine didn't know Dominick very well they were in the same family. She was furious about him being attacked. As he told them what the muggers looked like Raine waved to the waiter. He brought over a glass of water and gave it to Dominick. They probably spent your money already, but we'll go look for Vasque. Raine picked up her purse and stood up. She wasn't sure where to start looking and if she could handle the two muggers if they had guns. Instead of going alone she looked over at Eyzlee. Are you just going to sit there or go with me? |

Of course I'm coming with, someone has to keep an eye on you. Eyzlee knew that Raine knew what she was doing. After Santino had tried to kill both of them by setting the house on fire Eyzlee did a little research. Raine was correct by saying that her family had deep roots in the Mafia and a lot of them held very high ranks. Still she wanted to keep her eye on the feisty one. She picked up her purse and made sure her hand gun was inside just in case they did find their guys and things got messy. Let's go down to Washi's Guns and see if two men were in there buying anything with a lot of cash. She called their waiter over and got the bill from him. After she paid for their food she gave Dom some money to get a new suit and some food. Don't worry Dominick we'll find them. |

I don't need anyone to keep an eye on me. Raine rolled her eyes as she followed Eyzlee out of the restaurant. She was glad she wasn't going to look for the muggers alone, but she didn't want her former sister in law to think she needed her for anything. Just because we work together don't assume we are friends and I'll forget what you did to my brother. I'll hunt down someone if they fuck with you because we're family, but I still don't like you. I'm being such a bitch, Raine thought. She barely knew Eyzlee. She thought she probably would've liked Eyzlee if she wasn't once married to the person Raine disliked so much, Santino. |

Eyzlee didn't know if she should take this news as good or bad. What if Raine was the one hunting her down? She told herself she could take the young women any day. We really have to talk about what I did and didn't do to your brother. She said as Raine tried to hail down a cab. She gave Eyzlee a wicked look that almost dared her to go on. I don't know what you heard from your family, but the only thing I did was love Santino. Yes we may have gotten into some little spats.... Eyzlee trailed off thinking about the night she shot at her husband. But I always had love for him in my heart. She didn't know if Raine was listening to her. Eventually the woman turned to her and opened her big mouth. "Really Eyzlee can't you think of someone else besides yourself. We are trying to help out Dominick not your pathetic mental health." 'How dare she, that little brat.' Eyzlee said to herself. She was not thinking of herself, she was only trying to patch things up between her and Raine. The rest of the cab ride Eyzlee had her hands folded across her chest and didn't make a peep. |

When the taxi stopped in front of the gun shop Raine got out and waited for Eyzlee to pay the driver. Raine never paid for anything if someone else was around to do it. She figured Eyzlee had plenty of money anyway, probably Santino's hard earned cash. That looks like one of the muggers Dominick described. The one named Vasque. Raine pointed to a man walking towards an alley next to the gun shop. She couldn't believe they found him so quickly. Eyzlee really knew how to find people, Raine thought, but she wasn't about to compliment her. Unsure about what to do Raine turned towards Eyzlee to ask her. What do we do now? Follow him? When Eyzlee only answered with a nod Raine assumed she was too mad to talk to her. Maybe I should give her a break and forget about all the crap with Santino, Raine thought. Remembering some photos she found at the butcher shop in Chicago Raine knew her brother wasn't a perfect husband and Eyzlee wasn't the only woman in his life. As they walked towards the alley Raine was scared Vasque had a gun and might shoot them. She slowed her steps and let Eyzlee walk in the alley first. |
