Mickey steps up onto the stage, the crowd looking at him with a puzzled look on there face, why was gangster on stage Thats the reason i wanna talk to you all today, Its about Gangsters in this world, are they treat like trash? My father, god rest his soul was a wiseguy and a nice guy, got on with people never had any trouble, when he spoke to people he didnt know, he was pleasant with them and them with him, he made alot of friends this way, respect for one another, but i join this world and try to do the same and all you get is rejection I introduce myself to gangsters, goombas, earners and wiseguys, maybe not so much the higher members but still, some guy get along with you but some guys are just arses, they dont really wanna talk to you, reply with on word answers e.g Mickey:heya ______ how are you? ______:Good Mickey: you been up to much this week? ______: No anyway to conclude my moan, why do people discriminate gangsters? People have to start somewhere, those gangster may become CLs, If it was the same situation and i was a mademan would they talk to me? the answer is probably yes! Mickey steps down form the stage every gangster cheering for him while all the higher members load there guns |

*Clears his throat* Mickey. Why do you feel that your fellow Mafioso should stop and talk to you? I'm all for having a chat now and then with people but I don't see how you can expect everyone to want to stop what they are doing and converse with someone that they don't know? Wheter this person be of a low, medium or high rank within the family is unlikely to matter. Take earlier today, for instance. You started a conversation with me and asked me for a loan of some funds. I respond rather nicely to you and wasn't even met with a reply. Why is this? Did you feel that I wasn't deserving of your time because I was a simple thug at the time? |

Walk onto the streets, listens to -Mickey- complain and Yourmaw's retort. "-Mickey-, I find most people very accommodating and I am a thug. When I speak people to chat or talk, I don't ask one liners and expect a speech in return. If I wish to engage in conversation with a stranger, I will introduce myself first, then I will ask whatever was on my mind. Today, I have spoken to a Don, 2 Consigs and every rank in between, except Boss - They're all moody swines, don't worry though, it's just a phase. Point is, as Yourmaw stated, rank won't come into it, if you are polite and engaging, you'll more than likely get a polite and engaging response. If you are direct and bullish, you'll more than likely get a direct and bullish response." Bows, smiles, and goes to bug a moody boss. |

Mickey, personally I always try to be accommodating. However, the reason that Gangsters often aren't afforded the time/respect of the higher rankers is simple. At Gangster level, they've often not yet done enough to earn the respect nor time of these people. I'm sure you'll accept that this thing of ours is very much a pyramid system. If high rankers were to speak to everyone at Gangster level, they'd be there all day and the fact is, many of these people don't make it beyond Goomba. Easier to wait until they're at least established Earners before getting too deep into conversation. Generousity, with regards to time, is often afforded to those whose father was close to the aforementioned high ranker, but that's understandable. Over and above this though, to speak to every Gangster who wanted a chat would be time consuming, especially when getting to know family members often comes first (ie, before some random gangster). The fact you were getting answers is a start, some people wouldn't reply. Stick at it! |

| The devil makes work for idle thumbs... better to be out knocking over 7/11s than standing on street corners chatting all day? Though I accept your point that some who walk these streets could be more sociable. Then again, careless talk costs lives and omerta has to come first... | |

*Looks around for cops, shocked that someone would be so freely speaking of the mafia in the middle of the street* I don't know anything about these gangsters you are talking about, but I assume this same principle could be applied to any organization. As a new member, you are nothing but an errand boy, a foot soldier. You do not even officially become a part of your organization until you are made one by your leader, until then you are just an associate. So why should anyone higher on the food chain than you take the time to talk to someone such as yourself or myself when we have done little in the ways of contribution to the world. As you move higher into the bureaucracy, you gain more respect and people will talk to you. Focus on earning respect through contributions to your leader rather than making idle conversation with those outside of your own corporation. |

| I can see something in most points in this discussion, however I would like to point out to those of us who are less then sociable that in addition to communication for helping newcomers to our world, communication and getting to know people in addition to hard work is now how people rank past a certain point. So, unless the "youngster" approaching us is rude or persistently asking for a loan or whatever, we should give them a chance. | |

| The only people you should be concerned talking to is YOUR family. And their silence at times is a measure of tough love.it gets rid of that "you will have everything handed to you sense of well being" taken right out of you.It makes you realize your place in the pecking order. So stick with family and let it be.Rival families usually do not have members having a chat over tea now do they? | |

| I disagree, probably because of my ancestry being involed with HeadStartforHooligans. Obviously this is the mafia, not a tea party as you so aptly put it Apathy. But, I think for the good of our world in generation, communication and education is key. Obviously our vows of loyalty etc need to be taken into account when talking with someone but that is very easily done. The mafia is like a business - altho the FBI sees it differently - and networking is a large part of any business even among competitors | |

| Well asides from the attention seekers out there, what purpose does having someone wander around demanding to be liked? It doesnt work for Crewleaders why should it work for a gangster? We need to stop catering to every squeaky wheel that feels it is unloved or isnt getting the attention they deserve. This thread is not about learning the ropes or getting questions answered about this way of life so the headstart for hoddlums does not matter here.this dude is saying nobody wants to be his friend and talk to him. That is tough luck i guess. We all get dealt the same cards people, how we play them depicts our destiny. If that means you are a speechless hermit who will die alone..then so be it.We are not here to be friends with everyone. We are mobsters, killers, crooks, swindlers etc...and life is not fair, never is gonna be and never was.So if you do as I say and stick to family(where it matters)and you still get ignored and mistreated, then come back here and have a legitimate bitch about it. | |

I received this of Apathy, can some tell me why this is suspicious? first of all Antonio was not involved in the war so neither was I, second a friend wanted money and happened died before i could send it. To: -Mickey- From: Apathy Sent: Mar 25, '08 20:06 Subject: regarding your thread Post Reply | Watch Page: 1 Janitor's Funeral Started by: God at Mar 21, '08 12:41 *From the entry of the church a black casket that holds the recently deceased can be seen. The only light inside the church is from the flickering candles on the altar. And though it takes a moment for your eyes to adjust to the dim light, you see a woman in a black veil place a white rose on the casket. You watch as she wipes a tear from her eye. She lights a candle in remembrance of the deceased and walks down the aisle wiping the tears that are now cascading down her cheeks. The only light inside the church is from the flickering candles on the altar. The candlelight casts an eerie glow across the priest's face. He hangs his head as he starts to read...* "Friends, we are gathered here today to pay our final respects to our friend, Janitor. May he rest in peace. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at this time." RIP friend, the money was just about to come lol sorry Reply by: Mickey at Mar 21, '08 12:41 your post made you look suspicious, why would you be transferring money to another family during a war, especially when the person you were sending cash to was the ENEMY? Then your boss antonio was deemed to have been a threat and was taken out, thus your father died....now you come back under the same name and cannot figure out why nobody wants to associate with you? I could of aired your dirty laundry in the street but why? this is a heads up as to why things are probably happening.Unless you did alot of good under your former name, never re-use it.Especially if it has a sordid past |

Hmmmmm quite interesting that you come out here and act like a total whining bitch with your original thread. So I try and explain to you in PRIVATE MAIL where you may have went wrong. And you bring it to the streets? Well i am not really sure where you wanna go with this or what you intend to prove with it,as I had stated to you that these were only two things that may have brought suspicion towards you.....how about this act of bringing dirty laundry to the streets? Act #3 maybe? And you sure as fuck ended any chances of any new people speaking to you from now on. My intentions of sending you a private mail was to stop any whining and bitching from littering the streets, and possibly let a half witted schmuck save some face. But You decided that you are the idiot savant and wanna paint yourself bright colors and draw as much attention as possible.Mickey...your a stupid son of a bitch! It had to be said. |

Maybe he's like REALLY new to our streets and initially borrowed some money from someone before even being in a family? I dunno, it did look fishy to me too, but hey, the fact that he DID bring that telegram to the streets almost says he does not know any better. ;) |

-Mickey-, it's not hard to meet people and make friends, you just have to invest time in doing so. Like I said before, one line questions will be replied to with one line answers. If you invest time in your introduction and questioning, you'll be more successful with replies, I guarantee. If you complain that no-one wants to talk to you, no one will want to talk to you because all they'll know of you is that you complain. Somebody stated earlier to start in the family, this is a good idea to begin with although your not limited to family members. Best of luck Goes off to find the swine who gave me the black eye . . . |
