The real lesson to be learned here, dont go running off at the mouth about things you have no buisness talking about. Iocaste should have known better than sayin the things he said. Dont care if it was said in the coffeeshops or here in a telegram to someone. An entire city was burned to the ground over loose lips.

As they say, loose lips sinks ships

At the end of the day, there were many high ranking members in the city to blame for this outcome, Iocastes recent comments were the proverbial straw that broke the camels back in this case and tipped New York over the edge.

I would expect nothing less in this life, everyone should know the weight and value of their words and the impact they can have on not just their own life, but those of their friends and family.

Like Emerald's daughter has said, it would be wise of any of the other children of Detroits fallen to heed her words and accept the outcome and move on.

Rest in Peace InspectorGadget, Rest in Peace Detroit.

I had a lot of friends in Detroit, which I'm sure is no surprise to many of you, being the popular, journalistic superstar that I am. It was much to dismay that after one ordinary afternoon of bouncing Mr Pickles off the walls, I noticed the rising tensions between New York and Detroit. These continued to escalate over the past few weeks and it is also evident that without the intermediary actions from Chicago's own Godfather, things would doubtlessly have boiled over much sooner than they did. However, it was seemingly inevitable as a result of the ongoing issues between the two cities that push would eventually come to shove, and we would end up here.

I've never understood what the kin of the fallen expect from these things. When they are presented with reasons, they immediately reject them as ludicrous fallacies and when no reasons at all are presented, they demand an explanation. There are always three sides to any interaction. My side, what I believe happened; your side, what you believe happened; and finally just what actually happened. This is because as a species, we are prone to interpretation and analysis of our actions as well as those of the people we deal with. The most adept at this life, I've found, are those individuals who can understand and anticipate the actions of those around them.

As a result of this disposition, we swear blind things happened one way, when in fact, the unbiased truth of what occurred is virtually unrecognisable to us. You will see this type of thing every day and therefore whilst it seemed painfully clear to me, as an outsider looking in, that this was eventually going to result in conflict from my unbiased perspective, it appears to have been overlooked by the interlocutors. High profile arguments between a Don and a rival Godfather and the comments of TheGreenFairy regarding New York in addition to those of Bettino Casimiro, seemed to paint a clear path as to where we would soon all be walking.

I'm not surprised that those fallen do not believe they acted unacceptably or even can conceive that the reasons for this conflict was viable. It is understandable. However, had the same offenses been committed against Detroit, I imagine we would be listening to a very similar account of why another city was reduced to rubble. This is natural, especially when emotions are still running high.

I would categorise this as the latest in a long line of examples as to the necessity of running a tight ship. Those unruly members from Detroit punished some pretty fucking capable friends of mine today and that upsets me. I hope that the likes of TheGreenFairy learn from this and I'm not saying this to put the boot in, I'm saying this to highlight the pivotal errors that have been made and led to the downfall of a powerful city as a result. You have to guard your tongue in some situations. You have to bend the knee in some situations. You have to do whatever it takes to win. Allowing people you rewarded with high honours to act exceedingly promiscuously is not the way to achieve this.

As a leader, your absolute and overriding goal is to ensure the safety of your members, which is what makes these events so much more disheartening for me. Gadget was doing a pretty impressive job of enabling that to happen, allowing the loss of his RHM and two Dons from his city, in order to preserve the lives of those under his protection. Others would have you believe that he should have mounted his charger and rode out from the battlements in a blaze of glory, but without any real means of achieving anything except the death of his members, I do not believe he acted wrongly. I'd commend him for showing restraint and unfortunately condemn him for not continuing to do what he had to. There was no way -iocaste could walk unscathed from the above conversation and needed to follow the others out of the door. By not punishing -iocaste, he was only left with two options in my mind, attack or be attacked.

It is easy for me to cast judgement after the fact, I know that. I now have the full picture, which allows me to point to this and that and tie a pretty bow on top of it all, something that Detroit did not. Yet, it is still important that those who are looking to improve their understanding of the high level political manoeuvring involved regularly with life at the top of MafiaReturns take note of this. Gadget did a hell of a lot of things right and ultimately paid the price for entrusting the wrong people. Be aware of who you promote, the ranks mean something. A Don is considered to be someone you believe capable of being the number one, the boss of a family. The underbosses and consiglieres to your bosses within your cities need to be intelligent, experienced individuals as they are representative of you as members of your hierarchy. These are crucial appointments that every leader must make and must make correctly.

I'm extremely disappointed with the loss of so many talented business associates of mine. I sincerely hope that they take those individuals who painted their Godfather into a corner aside and open their eyes to the mistakes they have made.

Caboose walks around the ruins of Detroit, old HQ's of dear friends barely standing, walks over to his grandfather's old place of work. He remembers running around and playing in the streets with some of the people that would later lose their life today

Today I lost a many friends in what happened and it does sadden me, but what caused the fall of this city saddens me more. I wish that it could have been solved in a more peaceful way but I trust in the decision of Godfather Premeir to take action against a city that my bloodline started their short history in this thing of ours. I'm happy to see a lot of my old friend's daughters and sons coming to our cities to start a new name for their bloodline and wish all of them the best of luck making new friends in this wonderful life we all share. Rest peacefully the city of Detroit and I hope all of you outshine the legacy you had to leave behind.

Best of wishes~

As an aside, this slaughter could have been prevented had iocaste paid DickTrick a mere $3M in extortion fees.

WOW......

Throws aids infested cats at ThePlumber

That's a true story.  IO slipped up, but as a man of principle he decided not to be extorted.  The fee was even dropped to $1M because DT kinda liked the guy..

But, once again, Prem's desire to level cities is out there for all to see.

Roman...  kill him, please.  6 cities want it to be so.

ThePlumber, your wasting your time, nobody here takes you seriously, so why does your bloodline persist in following the same doomed footsteps as his ancestors?

Report Post Tip

Bummer.

caboose - check out what happened - IO made some comments, DT said $3M and it will be forgotten about.  He said no and took his chances - and his city was levelled

Report Post Tip

I'll level you in the next life

Wow, I'm glad my old uncle was an old school.
If someone try to kill you and they succeed, they shall be forgiven. If they failed, well you better go for fucking vendetta and don't stop until either one of you are dead.

My uncle knew that he's into dirty and dangerous business, so no need to go rampage on the street. I know it hurts you guys so much in loosing a relative, but still they should know what's coming to them by signing their "Contract"

Godfather Prem, even thought New York killed my uncle , but I must say you've done a great job. Congratulation on your take down.

Rest in Peace to all Detroit members.
