I'm an amateur astronomer, in my first steps and I was wondering if there are also people here who are in this hobby, so we can exchange some ideas. 

Astronomy sounds very very interesting. I am looking for a telescope to get for my godson who's 7 now and I want to get him interested into it. Hopefully a telescope will offer better time than playing some kind of game on a phone. 

hmm interesting subject, i have been always wanting to buymyself some kind of telescope but i am always unsure will i throw away money by buying something stupid that wont be useful or where to actually start with all that so any advice or reading material will be appriciated

my father always had a telescope because he loved the idea of being someone who studied the sky, stars and maybe even saw planets. I dont think he ever really put time into it though, and I know us kids weren't allowed to touch it.
