Where is the great and powerful Kuku? Started by: Runway on Sep 09, '21 02:42

Runway steps from the shadows and kicks over a soap box. She takes a stand on it, gives Sisyphus a wink and gets to talking.

Do any of y'all remember the name Kuku?

She lets the question sink into the crowd like humidity on a hot southern day.

He was a man of many talents and of much excite. Kuku was a masterful streat speaker. A king among men. A brave soilder. Commander of facts. A joker, a smoker, a midnight toker. Ring any bells?

Runway watched the crowd. Watched for any slight change. Hoped to see some sort of reconation or rememberance, even a slight glimmer to the eye. But there was nothing. She tried again.

The man named Kuku may seem like a fever dream. One of those childhood memories you don't know if it was real or fiction. One that makes you feel some sort of way inside. Some sort of way that is good or bad or both. And just as you think it's fiction - that memory - something sparks deep down and you realize it was real. Then you're thinkin' about how your whole childhood was something it wasn't or something it was.

She felt herself drift from herself on whatever this road she had gotten herself on. Runway pulled a pack of cigarettes from her POCKET and took one out. Placing it between her lips she struck a match and lit the end. She breathed in at the same time and instantly felt the nicotine cool her jets, simmer her anxious mind. Once more, she looked at the gathered crowd. Still nothing. Disappointing? Maybe. Runway chuckled.

I'll not waste any more of y'alls time on a forgotten legend man. Runway smirks. If any folks see his someone from his family tree let 'em know I'm looking.

Runway hopped off the soap box and took another drag on her cigarette. A long one that made her feel fuzzy inside. But she needed something stronger, craved it. So she went to find a back alley to buy some drugs.

The_Beast was standing in the crowd. He agreed with Tutte

"This Legend/ sorry, man that you speak of was accused and jailed for uttering the most insidious of threats to ppl. I dont understand why he is being lawded as a hero. Check your facts before siding with such a terrible person."

With that The_Beast walked away.

Runway rolls her eyes at The_Beast. Nothing, absolutely nothing, got past this guy.

“You asked for opinions Runway, and you got a couple. It’s probably not the most decent thing to do to roll your eyes after someone answered the question that you asked.”

Johnny lit his smoke, drawing a deep inhale as he did.

Of course, The_Beast is completely correct but that wasn’t the answer you were hoping for. The common consensus seems to be that Kuku has not and will not be worth the trouble that he brings to this place.”

"Just wonder how any in this world dont know what this Kuku did and destroyd so much against many"

Tutte nods to both JohnnyGavin and The_Beast that also know all that this weird one done.

He lights up a smoke and walks out rolling his eyes and just wonder where this world gone to.

After hearing what JohnnyGavin had to say Runway cried snowflake tears into her cocopuffs

EddieMame - Italian, American, Japanese, and most of all, a bean - wondered what the fuss was about.

I was told this man comes from a family of street leaders. What's so bad about him? It seems like we could use more of those. Can anyone enlighten me?

Report Post Tip

“First and foremost, EddieMame, the only person that calls the Kuku line street leaders, is in fact, the Kuku line. Unless of course he is talking about leading his friends and family to slaughter over his short sighted and to be honest, kind of a dick move, casino scam. That’s on top of multiple stays in the dreaded admin jail for just about anything you could imagine. Duping, plagiarism, harassment. His latest stint locked up was for a full year for a disgusting rape fantasy that he plastered all over the streets.”

Johnny pulled another smoke from the pack, “Now, I don’t know about you, good Sir, but that certainly doesn’t sound like the actions of anyone who should be leading the streets. Mostly because the streets don’t need a leader and also because any one of us could close our eyes, spin in a circle and land on something better than the Kuku line.”

EddieMame - please ignore the village drunk.  He usually chatters to himself, but recently has taken to trying to ingratiate himself with my friends.

I have no right to call myself Leader of the Streets, yet.  Leading the Streets requires power, vision, oratory skills, and motivation.

Maybe if this writing contest takes off - will you be entering? - and if I change things for the better, I might propose myself for Leader of the Streets.

Does that sound OK to you?

Report Post Tip

“So you are once again choosing to ignore the truth. Someone asked a question about the Kuku line, was anything I said wrong or inaccurate? Wouldn’t the “leader of the streets” answer straight questions that were asked of them? That seems a lot more like coward if the streets than anything else.”

Report Post Tip

Such vitriol. Reminds me of the old saying often attributed to Buddha: -

"Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else. You are the one who gets burned."

Personally, I have respect for any person who accepts their punishment and pays their penance by sitting out their sentence in the pokey - like a man. A manly kind of man who fears not the likes of Bubba.

Leaning against a wall, Satoru waited for an opportunity to speak.

Mr_Kuku,

I may be wrong, but was your late great Grandfather not the man who was involved in the recent war between New York and the 5 United Cities? I heard tales that he played quite a vital role infact. Is this true?

SatoruGojo - my counsel was requested and given.
