Hey, I'm just curious to find out what you all think. I know it sounds cliched, but I love the first Godfather. Although I did recently watch Part II again, and I forgot how good that one was. Part III kinda ruined it though..
And of course I love scarface and GoodFellas. Two other ones I like a lot are Carlitos Way, and also The Departed. What movies your favorite?

Goodfellas because it tells the story of real Mafia, it being told by the real strength of the family, the earners, unlike The Godfather, in which Mafiosi are shown as honorable, family men, which was not true.

Yeah, I realize that the Godfather was very glamorized, and pretty unrealistic. But I still like I just for everything it has.

GoodFellas stayed true to a lot of age old mafia traditions, and I thought that was cool

If you haven't seen "Kill the Irishman," give it a go. It's the story of Danny Greene and the Cleveland mafia. It's a pretty good film, and I'd never heard of it before I walked through Costco the other day and saw it. Watched it, and really enjoyed it. It probably won't make anyone's top 10 favorite movie lists, but its definitely not a bad way to spend a couple hours.

Well I guess if thats what you mean...I meant 'gangster' not 'gangsta' movies, if that makes sense. The modern idea of a gangster is quite different than the one a couple decades ago

Has to be Goodfellas....simply the best and it is real.
