Alice Liddell ran from the cards with the Cheshire Cat's maniacal smile fading behind her.  There were spades and clubs hoisting pitchforks along with diamonds and hearts yielding axes,  all yelling off with her head.  She knew it was by the screeching decree of The Red Queen, who had vowed to seek revenge on Alice for slaying her prized beast the Jabberwocky.  The Jabberwocky was a large winged beast, with eyes of flames, crushing teeth behind snarling jowls, and claws of razors. Alice had been running from The Red Queen and her army of cards since that first adventure to Wonderland. 

Still the size of a mouse she scurried under the door jam of a near by house. She knew that piece of mushroom she ate wasn't going to last long. Squeaking as she twitched  her nose she willed her tiny mice size  feet to carry her quickly through that strangers house. With relief rushing through her she scampered out of a hole in a window screen near the back of the house.

She leaped to the ground her form wavered as it returned to its normal size. Her head spinning and stomach woozy as usual when she shrunk or grew. Landing on her hands and knees Alice pushed herself  up as quickly as she could paying no mind to the dirt on her hands and knees she scanned her new area. 

Alice was on a quiet street so she relaxed a bit and walked down the dimly lit street. She soon realized that the  Cheshire Cat wasn't with her. "Perhaps I lost him when I ran through that house." She said out loud to herself.  She never knew that every time she shank to that size it took the Cheshire Cat's every ounce of self control  he had left not to snatch her up and eat her like a tasty little morsel. So he always took his leave of her when she shrunk.  Speaking her thoughts out loud made her realize that she was in a neighborhood she did not know. Once again those damn cards made her get lost. Trepidation was  creeping under her skin when  Alice turned a corner and came face to face with...

With a double arrowed sign that had one arrow pointing left and the other pointing right. Written on the right arrow was the words THIS WAY and written on the left arrow was the words THAT WAY. "Oh, I will have to sit and ponder on this."  She could never make up her mind when presented with this if she went THIS WAY would she meet the Walrus who sings to clams again?  Or if she went THAT WAY would she see new things? Then she remember that The Cheshire Cat told her it really didn't matter. With that thought fading in her mind she decided to go THAT WAY...
