Alice had been walking by a couple people who were chatting. As she passed by them she heard one say to the other Good day. She stop and wondered puzzled for a minute then approached the two talking.

"Excuse me" She interjected politely into the conversation. What day is Goodday? Is it after Wednesday, or does it come after Friday? 

The two who had been speaking looked at the young woman. The taller of the two squinted slightly as he looked this way and that at her. Alice just stood there politely waiting for an answer to her question. She had to know where this new day landed on the calendar of days. 

She knew nothing of this day called Goodday and was curious. She turned her  head to left and smiled at the man looking at her. "Does it only happen during... well during...  oh drats," she exclaimed and stomped her foot on the ground in frustration. Suddenly it came to her as she hopped a little and said the word a little excited because she finally remember what the word was. "During a leap year!?" 

The men just stood there and looked at her like she was a borogrove or worse a jubjub bird.

She looked at the men and smiled with a sweet disposition," Well where does it land on the calendar?" She lifted her left hand and slid it into the front pocket of the white apron she wore over her blue dress. Suddenly her look of happy inquisitiveness turned dark and furrowed.   

Her head snapped up quickly as she looked at the two men "I lost my calendar pencil." She pushed her fingers through hole in her pocket and wiggled them. Suddenly she spun around on her  heels and started marching off her words trailing behind her. "I bet that woodchuck did it."
