Enzo was walking down the streets of his old town, a couple hours north of Chicago, remembering the days when life seemed so much simpler. Enzo pulled the key from his pocket looking at it as he walked up to the steps of his parents' old house. Turning the door and opening it up, it had been some time since he had been there as the dust began to settle pretty much on everything. Placing the keys on the table just at the door as he did when he was a child. Running his finger along it noticing how thick the dust really was. Sighing as he continued on, his bodyguards waited at the door for him to make sure no one would disturb him. He took a seat in his father's chair remembering how his father went.
Enzo was about 15 when his father was killed, his mother passed a few years after they say of a broken heart. His father was always a very secretive man, didn’t really know what he did for work, always went on business trips. He assumed he was part of the mob since well most Italians are. Especially since his father was killed and it was ruled a murder which they never found anything but a strange wound thought to be a knife.
After dwelling on the past for a few more moments he got up remembering his father’s room he wasn’t allowed to go into growing up. Making his way to the kitchen and down into the basement he stared at the door. As if time itself froze, a blank expression came over his face as stared at the door. Swallowing hard he pushed open the door, never had he seen the inside of this room.
Stepping it was a mix between a study and a workshop. He made his way over to the chair in the study, sitting in it while looking at all the books and texts all over this section of the room in the basement. Enzo’s hand rubbed over his face then his chin, noticing an envelope with ‘To My Son’ written on it. His heart sank as he read the text. It had been fifteen years since his father's death and here is now just seeing this.
Enzo sat for a moment staring at the note. Not having a clue how long this latter had sat here for, did his Dad think he would have made more of an attempt to get into this room? He wasn’t quite sure what to think at this point; the fear of opening and what the hell could possibly be inside was starting to get to him. Cracking his neck he flipped over the envelope and started to peel off the back of it.
The letter read:
Enzo my son,
Enzo sat in the chair a moment, then got up making his way over to the chest. Opening it up he found another letter. |

'Another f'n letter da.' He thought to himself, as he opened it up. He began to read,
Enzo read it thinking what the hell is all this. I am to decide my fate with this I don't get it. Rubbing his face as he stepped out of the room shutting the door behind him. New York or Chicago, tapping his chin as he thought a moment on this. |

Enzo had decided to make his way to the city of Chicago. Hopping in the car driving down to the address that his father left for him. Pulling up to what looked to be an old antique building. Enzo got out of the car making his way up to the door pushing it open. The place looked like it had seen better days. The bell rang as he walked in and a man approached wearing some strange attire with the hood up. "How may I..." The man paused before speaking again. "Enzo? Is that you?" He took a step back as he was extremely confused. "That is my name how do you know me?". The man spoke, "You look just like your father. I am Dominic Lombino. I assume you found his letters, Master Assassin at your services." He took a bow. "I am not sure how to take all this in. I didn't know any of this about my father?" Still confused. |

The man smiled at Enzo and began to speak, "My friend you have much to learn. Unless this isn't the path you wished to follow?" Enzo noticed the man's fist clenched. "I want to do the opposite of my father." The man chuckled as he looked at Enzo, "Then my boy, this is the beginning of that journey. Your father left the Order shortly after you were born. We had heard rumors that he had become a Templar, judging by your answer, you confirmed it for us. Now, if you follow me to my study there is much we have to discuss." Enzo nodded and followed as this was the beginning for him. |

The man, made his way into another room with Enzo in toe. He looked around as it was a room full of books, watching the man walk towards the bookshelf and pulled back a book with a strangle symbol on it. The bookshelf then began to move to the side opening a secret hallway, they made their way down into what looked like a chasm. They walked down the stairs, as the bookcase shut behind them. Enzo looked in awe as the same symbol was on the middle of the floor at the entrance of what looked to be a ballroom-sized room. "What in the actual hell?" Enzo spoke as he came down seeing all this with hooded figures standing in a circle. |

Enzo walked into the middle of the circle as the man had instructed him. "I am Dominic Lombino, Master Assassin of the Chicago Brotherhood. You father was the man I replaced before he left the Order. You ..... " Was interrupted by another Assassin, "You are the son of a traitor you don't deserve to be here." Dominic looked at him, "Shut it." Turning his attention back to Enzo, "As I was saying you have a choice, if you wish to join us you must prove yourself." Enzo thought a moment before he answered, "Is this an initiation as in a fight?" Dominic had nodded to Enzo which in turn Enzo pointed to the assassin that had spoken up before. "I want to fight him." |

As the man stepped forward, Enzo being rash charged him and jumped up to bring his fist down toward the man's face. The man dodged and punched Enzo in the gut. Landing on a knee with his fist on the ground, he took a deep breath and remembered his training with his father. Closing his eyes he was then standing before his father again which seemed a lifetime ago. His father stood above him with his hand out offering him help up, Enzo stood up on his brushing himself off. Enzo looked at his father, "Again." Enzo flashed back to the current fight as he stood up blocking the next fist the man threw at him. He had a focused look on his face as the other fist attempted to go for Enzo's gut, blocking it quickly and kicking the man in the chest to push him back. |

Enzo adjusted his foot movement and was in a ready position. He could tell he had angered the man since he thought he wasn't a fighter or knew how. A smirk popped on Enzo's face as he motioned the man to come at him. Dominic watched Enzo and as soon as the man charged Enzo he shouted, "Enough." Made his way between them, to make sure they didn't continue. "I know that stance, you didn't stand a chance." Placed a hand on Enzo's shoulder, "This was the stance his father taught most of the top Assassins in our Order. This was about to get very bad for you. I have seen many enemies' bones break from this stance. Enzo, come with me you have much to learn on top of just fighting." Enzo and Dominic made their way into the inner sanctum of the cave which looked like a massive study. Book upon books everywhere, "Enzo do you realize how much of a legacy and hated you are?" Dominic spoke to him. |

Enzo was in complete shock as he heard the words from Dominic. He understood his father betrayed the brotherhood, but he couldn't help to want to know more about the brotherhood. His father was a Master Assassin remembers he read in his father's journal about why he left the brotherhood. Enzo cleared his throat before he spoke, "I do, I guess. I know my father betrayed the Brotherhood, but why are you being so kind to me?" Dominic spoke with a smile, "Because I understood why your father left, I couldn't fault him as the others have. Do you really wish to become a member of this brotherhood?" He thought a moment before he spoke, "I want to learn more about the Brotherhood of Assassins and understand what happened to my father." |

Dominic nodded and so began Enzo's journey. Enzo sat and Dominic smiled as it was the first of many chats.
A few months later..
Enzo found himself in New York on a mission. It was rumored that the Mayor of New York City had been working with the Knights Templars. Enzo had been sent to investigate these rumors, but not to act upon them until reporting back. Enzo was just outside city hall watching all the people coming in and out. He waited till it became dark and watched what he thought was the last person had left. He quickly made his way down from the rooftop. As he touched the ground he pulled his hood from the back of his coat placing it over his head. Looking around as he crossed the street. it was dark and quiet so he used that as cover. Kneeling in front of the door he took a deep breath as he pulled out his lock pit kit. He placed the tools into the lock and began to work. A loud click sound happened after a few moments. |
