"Sera! Ma'am, come quick!"

There was a hint of excitement in the maid's voice which was so rarely heard that it made Seraphyna perk up instantly. Having just finished getting ready for the day, she began the descent of the stairs to the main floor. As she came to the front hall, Sera noticed a bouquet of flowers. They looked like Daffodils, which was odd. Those were her favourite flowers, no one really knew this fact except for a couple of people. Shrugging the odd feeling in her gut, she decided to check if the maid received some flowers.

"Amanda, are those for you? They are absolutely lovely."

"No, ma'am. There was a card directed for you with them. I thought perhaps you were seeing someone new these days. It has been awhile.. since you know."

Sera cut the maid off with a look. It set the maid to wandering into the kitchen. Not one to be stern with the staff, Sera was just in no mood to remember the incident the maid was getting at. Taking the card off the table, she pulled it up to read to herself.

Seraphyna,

I know these are your favourite and I hope that it shows the level of devotion I have for you.

Signed,

S.

Flipping the card over, Sera tried to look for any way to identify the flower shop. But she tried to rack her brain for all the people that she knew started with an S in her immediate circle. Sonic? Yeah, right. They had always been close, but this was absurd. Just as quickly as that name came so did three other people. Stewart, the door man, but he merely nodded at her when she spoke to him. Then there was Steven at the local coffee place. Shaking her head, she couldn't see anyone that she came into contact with regularly sending her flowers. Most people knew that she hated flowers for the most part. She could never care for them like they deserved, so saw them as a waste.

Gathering the flowers, she set them in a vase. Leaving them there, only to be forgotten until later. For now, she had to get to work.

Walking the few blocks to the Headquarters, her mind preoccupied, she nearly stumbled upon the basket at the front door. Unlocking the door, she grabbed the basket and brought it inside. Setting her stuff down, she pulled her mitts off and lifted the cover on the basket. Inside was a bunch of homemade cookies. Confused, she looked a little further for a note to explain the cookies. Spotting a piece of paper in the basket, she pulled it out.

Seraphyna,

I hope these taste as sweet as you are.

Signed,

S.

Feeling a chill creep up on her spine, she immediately tossed the cookies out into the garbage bin in the back of the Headquarters. Her members staring at her in wonder. She could only shake her head, and walked into her office. Closing the door quietly behind her, she began to wonder what she should do. Her mind considered the police, but then she shook her head. Last thing she needed was them looking into her business or activities. Besides, she wasn't helpless.

Next she considered looping in her friends, but she had heard of many stories were things went wrong when others were involved. Sera had always been used to solving her own problems, with only the help of Lissa. Now she had to figure it out entirely for herself. She didn't recognize the name, or the penmanship of the letter. Giving a shrug, she mumbled to herself.

"Perhaps they will go away on their own. If there is no response, whoever it is will get bored."

Opening the office door, she slipped back out. There was too much to do and she had no time set in her day to worry about random gifts and letters.

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip

It was about noon time when Paul decided to go for a stroll. Finding himself full from eating his lunch a bit earlier than he should have, he was hoping to find something sweet To chew on. Nothing came to mind. As he hurried down the street to see what shops were open he quickly realized nothing he wanted was available.

Darn.

he was a wholesome man who did not swear too much. He came from a long line of non swearers, the type that would say “oh by golly” or “dish darn it all to heck” or even “fudge” the classic non bad boy swear words. His frustration in not having something sweet was growing until…PLOP. A bag of cookies came flying out of one of the windows above!

Ouch!

He exclaimed as the rock hard cookies concussed paul. I wonder who would have done it, couldn’t have been anyone sweet! He immediately looked up and saw no one. He decided to climb the fire escape where he would soon find the cookie thrower and throw it back at them. The first window he came across was an old man laughing hysterically at the radio. Surely something funny must have been happening. He kept climbing and got to the second window. A real group of scary folks arguing over something. Paul continued to climb until he reached the top window. It was open.

he peaked inside and no one was there. He listened quietly still nothing. He decided to step inside. He placed the cookies on the table and opened the refrigerator, nothing worth eating. He put the radio on to see what the old man must have been laughing about and he heard the sound of a gun cock from the bedroom.

paul, who didn’t have a gun because guns are dangerous and he was a nice sensitive kind of guy. Who just liked to spread false rumors in the streets, Immediately ran to the door, unlocked it and fled down the hallway. He ran so fast that he got in an elevator and closed it without ever seeing if the person was coming after him. He was like a real life ninja.

the radio continued to play, in the room and the cookies laid sitting on the table. Paul, had no idea what he had accidentally done or got himself into but the shenanigans were about to get dangerous
