Throughout history, warring factions have called truces, for a variety of reasons. My favourite truce is probably the WW1 Christmas Truce, when German and British soldiers played football on Christmas day and exchanged gifts and San songs. A less favourite Truce is when Apollo Creed promised Rocky that there "won't be no rematch" - Apollo went back on his word, and that caused sad brains all round. |

This is the Outside Forum, so we can talk about not game related matters, like historia truces. Or the NJ-NY Truce in the Sopranos which maybe didn't work out well for Tony. I've need to the IRL diner where Tony had his onion rings |

Tbh I think the WW1 Truce you mentioned has to be up there as the No1 truce. the fact those on the front lines got some respite and even managed to engage with their "enemy" in a harmonious way is amazing. It just shows what can be accomplished if people sit back and take stock instead of just sending people to their death. Communication is always key. |
