I know why the sad Clown- cries Started by: Chuckle on Aug 04, '11 19:07

There are a lot of things that come with being a Boss; you get a massive HQ, you go all bold on the 60 Second List and you even get a snazzy little banner to dedicate to your crew. Walking hand in hand with these bonuses are a whole host of responsibilities; you have a family to protect, you have a reputation to maintain and you have a city to represent. People tend to forget these responsibilities when they get into the leadership positions. They forget that their image is important, they forget that their words will be scrutinised and most of all, they seem to forget that their decisions will be judged and acted upon by those around them.

Some days being a Boss you have to do things that you don't want to do. Like today, where someone who was given the opportunity to lead a family of his own was caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Inevitably, once the conversation involving EvilClown plotting against Chicago reached the ears of Chicago's hierarchy, it could not be ignored and had to be acted upon. Reluctantly, knowing that it would result in another death, we passed the information over to our friends in Las Vegas.

You have once again seen the result of attempting to stir up discontent within the Empire and you have once again witnessed that Chicago will not tolerate people actively trying to bring her down. Let us all be clear, any act that is counterproductive to our business interests and the longevity of our success will be met head on and crushed. Chicago and her allies are united in making money, in our continued mutual prosperity and in the preservation of business. Anything that threatens this will not be tolerated.

We've seen too many Capos, Bosses and even Godfathers fall because they've made a bad decision. Unfortunately, it seems that people are still failing to learn the lessons that they would teach us and devoutly follow this flawed paradigm, placing their trust in the wrong people time after time and ultimately tasting betrayal.

EvilClown was a promising Consigliere from the fine city of Las Vegas, recently seeing his numbers swell and his influence grow. He made a lot of right moves, was someone I personally count amongst my friends, but made a mistake in scheming against Chicago and compounded it by trusting someone with that knowledge who, if nothing else, has demonstrated throughout his history that he cannot keep his lips together.

If you plot against Chicago, you will die.

If you scheme to bring down Chicago, you will die.

If you plan to disrupt Chicago's business, you will die.

If you target the bodyguards Chicago has worked hard to employ, you will die.

We are not unreasonable and our Godfather's patience is testament to that. Many people are given the opportunity to flourish both within Chicago and outside of it. He has many business partners across the country and continues to work alongside many different individuals, regardless of their affiliates. Those who are unhappy with their lot need to step back and evaluate the situation - the problem isn't with us, the problem is with you.

I offer my condolences to EvilClown- and his second in command, but ultimately there can be no escaping the consequences of your actions as a Boss. We are delighted to see that our friends in Las Vegas share our beliefs on this and we would commend them on their swift and decisive action in this manner. Chade and Whiskey have once again demonstrated what it takes to thrive in this business, which is why they succeed in Las Vegas and enjoy a strong working relationship with Chicago and others. We thank them for their ongoing support and incisive dedication in removing a threat.

We would also like to thank CaptainMidnight of the Dash bloodline in bringing this matter to our attention. This is one of the reasons why Roman decided to revoke his bans and grant absolution to those individuals who have wronged us in the past. It allows them the opportunity to prove their worth and CaptainMidnight has done just that by doing the responsible thing for his city.

Please refrain from repeating these errors, working with us equals success, whilst scheming against us...

Chuckle shrugs.

Today was a very very sad day for the city of Las Vegas. Someone who I personally considered a friend spat in mine and Chade's faces with his actions. Certain events transpired that caused his downfall and in the end it was no one's fault but his own. I hope his lineage learns from their mistakes and can eventually move past them. It's a sad day when you let down all of those who are trusting in you to keep them safe and lead them to green pastures. Evilclown- put himself before his family and in that, he made the ultimate mistake.

I thank the city of chicago for bringing this matter to our attention. No one wants peace in these streets as much as the great windy city and we here in Vegas wholeheartedly agree with them. With the cooperation of our two cities the issue was able to be solved in great time and with minimal bloodshed.

In the end it comes down to what you value most. As a right hand I will always put my family and city before me. Obviously not all leaders share my sentiment. Our society has evolved into one that works together, one chink in the chain will not stop what we all strive for. To Evilclown- and Jambi, may you rest in peace. I hope your children can learn from their mistakes. To Chicago, thank you for working so closely with us in taking care of this threat. Finally, to Sin City, we will all push on and continue our hard work. Today was only a speedbump, there are long roads ahead for us all.

Whiskey crushes out his cigarette and takes a deep swig of his drink

It's been a tough day, I think we could all use one of these.

correct me if i'm wrong, but basically your saying that there shouldn't be a war ever again?

now, i don't want to warmonger, but i do wonder at what point do we start seeing masses of retirements because this world has become an oversized, underactive, place. as is now, we only have a few strong street presences, like the good chuckle. part of what wars do is shake things up. stability means more money, but sometimes thigns need to change.

that said, i would commend all parties involved in their handling of the situation at hand.

Why would anyone retire because "this world has become an oversized, underactive, place." You don't need a speech in the streets for activity. There are plenty of other venues to mingle with fellow mafioso. This world is what you make of it. You can sit in a corner, rocking and pointing fingers while blabbing about the past...or you can fucking do something now and prepare for the future.

If you wanna hear someone speak...sometimes you gotta stand the fuck up and say something yourself. Bitching and moaning does nothing for anyone. Look in a fucking mirror and start talking if you wanna get something off your chest about "then & now". Most people truly don't wanna hear it.

Maybe I misunderstood something with what you were saying. I believe you listed wars and street presences for activity.

As for the war part..believe it or not but there are quite a few people that wanna live to see their 70s. Wars should only be fought when needed..not to stir a fucking pot. When things need to change...they change. That's how this thing works.

Please, keep in mind that this is more of a built up response (as far as the street presence). Some of it might not apply to you.

As for the topic at hand, never assume you know someone. You get overly comfortable when you're in the presence of someone you think you know. Foolish actions often get met with wise reactions. No shit, right?

We can all be thankful that most "plotters" have a story they wanna tell before acting.

"Don't let looks fool you. Even the most innocent, nicest, or level-headed people can turn against you."

"I once heard a saying, you can always know that a liar will always lie, but it is the one who tells the truth that you'll never know if they lied. It may not be the exact quote, but you get the picture."

Running her hands through her hair she pushed it behind her ears and continued to speak.

"What I'm getting at is you need to be careful where you place your trust. Anyone can put on a mask and play a game with you. Granted I'm not saying that this is what EvilClown was up to at all. He made a grand mistake and it cost him his life. I am just going off of what was said and adding a bit more to it."

"Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Yet, don't think you'll get too far when attempting to fool Chicago. So try as you may, but don't waste your life by attempting to get a shot at us. Make a better decision and focus on making yourself and your city better. Then maybe one day you'll be able to call the shots."

Simplicity gave Chuckle a friendly smile and waved goodbye. She had nothing left to state and needed to be on her way.

There is one great lesson to be learned from this. A lesson for all to heed regardless of rank, sex, or persuasion, and that is this;

Should you be fortunate enough to be granted a position of authority, a position where you are regarded as powerful, a family head, a godfather even. It is worth remembering that the title to which you are known is afforded you by the men and women alongside you, beneath you and above you. Your future within the family to which you have sworn your allegiance is, as has already been said, dependant on your every deed, whether written, communicated, or acted upon.

Any individual within this thing of ours who betrays the very fabric of our society through any of the above actions will, ultimately, fail. The demise as in the case of EvilClown was immediate. Others may sit in the old pit of comfort completely unaware of the approaching reaper. Either way, you forget the code, and you`re fucked.

The swift response to the threat by the hierarchy of both Las Vegas and Chicago is confirmation that the code of Omerta is still held dear. The world in which we live is still underpinned by loyalty to both family, and the health in both physical and financial terms, of all who reside in our cities.

Well said.  All we need back is some love

One of the hardest parts of leading an crime outfit is knowing that every single decision you make impacts not only yourself, but those who you work side-by-side with, and the people under you who break their stones to make sure your family succeeds. One slip up can cost not only you your life, but also your entire family and city. It isn't easy business, especially if you plan on doing the job well.

As Chuckle said, despite all the good that was going on with Clown's family, all it took was the sense of a threat to Chicago for all of it to come crashing down. Las Vegas should be commended for dealing with this in a timely manner, and picking up the pieces without skipping a beat.
