There are a lot of things that come with being a Boss; you get a massive HQ, you go all bold on the 60 Second List and you even get a snazzy little banner to dedicate to your crew. Walking hand in hand with these bonuses are a whole host of responsibilities; you have a family to protect, you have a reputation to maintain and you have a city to represent. People tend to forget these responsibilities when they get into the leadership positions. They forget that their image is important, they forget that their words will be scrutinised and most of all, they seem to forget that their decisions will be judged and acted upon by those around them. |

correct me if i'm wrong, but basically your saying that there shouldn't be a war ever again?
now, i don't want to warmonger, but i do wonder at what point do we start seeing masses of retirements because this world has become an oversized, underactive, place. as is now, we only have a few strong street presences, like the good chuckle. part of what wars do is shake things up. stability means more money, but sometimes thigns need to change.
that said, i would commend all parties involved in their handling of the situation at hand. |

Why would anyone retire because "this world has become an oversized, underactive, place." You don't need a speech in the streets for activity. There are plenty of other venues to mingle with fellow mafioso. This world is what you make of it. You can sit in a corner, rocking and pointing fingers while blabbing about the past...or you can fucking do something now and prepare for the future. |

"Don't let looks fool you. Even the most innocent, nicest, or level-headed people can turn against you."
"I once heard a saying, you can always know that a liar will always lie, but it is the one who tells the truth that you'll never know if they lied. It may not be the exact quote, but you get the picture."
Running her hands through her hair she pushed it behind her ears and continued to speak.
"What I'm getting at is you need to be careful where you place your trust. Anyone can put on a mask and play a game with you. Granted I'm not saying that this is what EvilClown was up to at all. He made a grand mistake and it cost him his life. I am just going off of what was said and adding a bit more to it."
"Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Yet, don't think you'll get too far when attempting to fool Chicago. So try as you may, but don't waste your life by attempting to get a shot at us. Make a better decision and focus on making yourself and your city better. Then maybe one day you'll be able to call the shots."
Simplicity gave Chuckle a friendly smile and waved goodbye. She had nothing left to state and needed to be on her way. |

There is one great lesson to be learned from this. A lesson for all to heed regardless of rank, sex, or persuasion, and that is this;
Should you be fortunate enough to be granted a position of authority, a position where you are regarded as powerful, a family head, a godfather even. It is worth remembering that the title to which you are known is afforded you by the men and women alongside you, beneath you and above you. Your future within the family to which you have sworn your allegiance is, as has already been said, dependant on your every deed, whether written, communicated, or acted upon.
Any individual within this thing of ours who betrays the very fabric of our society through any of the above actions will, ultimately, fail. The demise as in the case of EvilClown was immediate. Others may sit in the old pit of comfort completely unaware of the approaching reaper. Either way, you forget the code, and you`re fucked.
The swift response to the threat by the hierarchy of both Las Vegas and Chicago is confirmation that the code of Omerta is still held dear. The world in which we live is still underpinned by loyalty to both family, and the health in both physical and financial terms, of all who reside in our cities. |

One of the hardest parts of leading an crime outfit is knowing that every single decision you make impacts not only yourself, but those who you work side-by-side with, and the people under you who break their stones to make sure your family succeeds. One slip up can cost not only you your life, but also your entire family and city. It isn't easy business, especially if you plan on doing the job well.
As Chuckle said, despite all the good that was going on with Clown's family, all it took was the sense of a threat to Chicago for all of it to come crashing down. Las Vegas should be commended for dealing with this in a timely manner, and picking up the pieces without skipping a beat. |
