Chalmers Park Started by: Peter-Gangi on Dec 17, '21 22:58

On a walk through the city doing his usual business Char decided he needed a change of scenery. Making his way into Chalmers Park he took in the beautiful trees which were a very nice change from all the brick and mortar buildings he'd passed along the way. It had been a slightly slow day in the motor city for Char and as he waa going through the park he couldn't help but feel like something was missing but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Walking along the path through he couldn't help but notice all the people in the park grilling during the summer heat and he could feel his stomach growl a bit each home his eyes caught some of the fine barbecue on the grills. It didn't take long for him to realize that nagging feeling he'd been having was how long it had been since he had any barbecue food himself. With his mind made up and truly focused on having a good family style cook out Char headed out of the park licking his lips at the though of nice juicy steaks, delicious burgers and a plan.

It was a beautiful summer day in Detroit, Michigan. The wind blew ever gently as the sun was nearing its peak position up in the sky. A perfect day such as this should be spent on a picnic date or time at the beach. Waylon, on the other hand, was in a full sprint from the law. With a firm grip on the purse he snatched, he tucked it under his arm and cradled it like a Heisman-winning running back. He didn't know the area well but he was confident in his ability at fleeing.

Rule number one was to never look back but he had been running at top speed for going on ten minutes now. Surely the rule was meant for the start of the race, right? He glanced over his shoulder and what would you know... There was no one behind him. He stopped, rubbed his eyes, reset his sights and yep, still no one was there.

"Cops and their donuts" he muttered under his breath before continuing his path at a walking pace.

He had wandered into Chalmers Park. He took a seat at the nearest bench and dumped the purse's contents out next to him. There was gum, makeup, a shopping list, cigarettes and finally, money. He pocketed the $11 dollars in cash and left the rest on the park bench. He grumbled. It was high risk and low reward. People don't carry around as much cash now that credit becoming trendy. Maybe it was time to give up the purse snatching gig.

As he was about to hang his head low, he spotted a cemetery nearby. There was a hardware store not far from here as well. He had seen it in passing while sprinting this way. Was this a sign? It couldn't be coincidence. Not when he was feeling irritated. He knew what he had to do.

"Victory is mine!" Waylon announced with his head held high. This could be his most lucrative day yet.

It was a hot day in July and Sal was out in the park waiting to me Joe Zerillio a member of the detroit combination.  He wanted to talk about the casino's in Vegas and Reno.  Sal wasn't one to give out information but was willing to listen to what they had to say.  Sal saw him walking up with his men standing by the car.  Sal looked to his left and nodded to Benny and then looked to his right and nodded to Robert and then stood up and shook Joe's hand.

Both men took a seat the the bench that Sal was seated at.  Sal heard everything Joe had to say and never made a comment.  Then he looked at the ground and told him he would take his offer back to Vegas but he wasn't going to promise anything.  Sal also told him that Reno was closed and that he had nothing to do with Dallas he needed to speak with Al in Chicago if he was serious about Dallas.

As Apache took a leisurely stroll through the Chalmers park, he found himself lost in thought. The recent meetings with old friends like Meyer Lensky, Roxie, and Salvatore had brought a sense of contentment to his heart. It was moments like these, surrounded by like-minded friends, that reminded him of the bonds forged over the years.

The sun cast a warm glow over the park, and the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze provided a soothing backdrop. As he walked, he couldn't help but think about the journeys they had all been on .

Meyer's sharp wit and unwavering loyalty had always been a source of inspiration for Apache. Roxie's resilience and strategic mind had proven invaluable time and again. And Salvatore's calm demeanor and extensive network had often opened doors that others couldn't even perceive.
The memories of their adventures together played like a movie in Apache's mind – the late-night strategy sessions, the daring heists, the celebrations after successful deals, and even the moments of reflection in the quiet corners of their shared world. These were the people who truly understood him, who shared his values and ambitions, and who stood by him through thick and thin.

As he continued his walk, Apache felt a sense of gratitude for the connections he had nurtured over the years. In a world where loyalty was a rare gem, he had found true friends who were always ready to have his back. The laughter, the camaraderie, and the shared experiences were treasures he held dear.

With a contented smile on his face, Apache realized that no matter where his business ventures took him, no matter the challenges that lay ahead, he had a circle of friends who were as solid as the ground he walked on. As the sun began to set, he knew that the memories of this day would stay with him, a reminder of the strength of their bonds and the joy of having true friends by his side.

Diva decided to take an evening stroll through the park before her flight back home in a few hours it's was a nice wonderful night and the moon was full and lovely as she walks passing each person some couples enjoying their night of romance and passion and some whom seem to be on business or just walking home from work as they seem to have decided to take the scenic route home. Diva continues her walk as the sound of the city faded in her mind as she got lost in the scenery of the park especially at night where it is most beautiful as she than spots a blue rose on the ground as she walks towards the rose and picks it and taking in the scent of it as her eyes glowed for a bit she knew who to give it once she got back.

Sal walked through the park it was night and he was surprised when he spotted Diva_.   He walked up to her and stood in front of her.  She held a blue rose when she looked up into his eyes and smile.  He asked her why was she out this late as she replied she wanted peace and this is the most peaceful time to come here.  They sat on a park bench and talked about everything for hours then she saw that the sun was starting to rise and she said her goodnight.  Sal smiled and said good night and that he would see her later.

Diva smiled wide seeing Sal at the park she held the blue rose tight to her chest now as he approached her Diva could see how happy he was to see her as they sat down and talked and it felt like eternity. She enjoyed listening to Salvatore-Lucchese stories they never grow old and boring. Before she knew it the sun came up and she sighed as they said goodbye until later on.

"Sal I want you to have this."  As she placed the blue rose in his hands as she turned around to walk away" I'll see you tonight" She told him.

Lissa had flown to Detroit to expand her dealings a little further. Trying to make a quick buck, but there seemed to be a lull in the prices today. Very little competition. She decided to grab a book at a local book store and find somewhere nice to read for awhile. As she walked through Detroit she stumbled upon Chalmers Park.

The park looked small, but she didn't see too many people around. The fact that it was not crowded made Lissa smile because she loved quiet places. Immediately she found an open bench and settled herself on it. Once comfortable she pulled out her book and spent a few hours reading.

Sal was back in the motorcity and in his old stomping grounds, he was meeting with the combination and as always he he set the meet in Chalmers Park.  No one can run up on you and where he sat he had the full 360 view.  He sat on the bench smoking a cigar reading the morning paper waiting on Zerilli to pop by.  This was a sit down with Zerilli and Stanza from Cleveland.  Sal was asked to host it and ensure they leave with an agreement with no one getting hurt.

Like Clock work they both showed up five mintues early and Sal guys checked them for weapons.  Zerilli sat on Sal right and Stanza on Sal left Sal ask what was the issue at hand and Zerilli stated that they had trucks hijacked in Cleveland and Stanza said it was only in retaliztion for their lost shipments coming out of Canada.  Sal shock his head and said they both are wasting his fuck time.  Each family will protect the other shipment from their home location to the others they both will set up shipment dates so their is a swap of goods.  Toledo will be the spot for both hands offs and there will be the peace.

The two stood up and gave each other a hug and went back to their place of business as Sal finished reading his paper.

The park was always a nice place to go especially at night when there's hardly anyone around and it was a nice November evening the nice cool breeze was flowing through her raven hair the smell of hot chocolate in the air, women in their coats as the men that accompanied them keeping them warm as they walk along the trail laughing and smiling. Selena smiled as she walked past an area where she spots a blue rose under a tree out of sight where no one can do any harm to it.

" A beautiful rose that belonged to such a beautiful woman once" she whispered." Sitting next to the rose as she enjoyed the night watching any passers by her eyes focused on the blue rose again" I've never seen such a flower" her heartbeats with excitement. " Maybe next time I can try and plant something like this when I go home" As she got up and walks back on the path at the park.

Oswald questioned Jarvis on why team up they were all ready doing that.  Him and Edward control of the mayors and the police departments.  TBJ listened and then told Jarvis his plan was awesome but had one flaw, he was already doing those things and he didn't have to split the pie with anyone.  Then he started to laugh as he looked at Edward and asked him when was he going to step out of the shawdows and into the light?

Joker walked through Chalmers park remembering his times as a kid playing with the girls and singling out the one he really wanted.  He recalled his first kiss with her and how it tingled right down to his socks.  He recalled his first real fist fight when he beat the hell out of Byron the class bully in the fourth grade.  He recalled his favorite teachers and how he got the wrong report card and got his butt beat his parent nor he looked at the name on the card itself only the name on the envelope.

Chalmers park was a place where he had good memories and bad.  He recalled how his friends died from doing stuff they should never have trying to show off.  He recalled losing the woman he wanted she went off to europe and he didn't even try to talk her out of it.  He wanted her to live the life he couldn't afford to give her.  They say 20-20 is hine sight.  Not the fucker has the money but not the woman.  He often wonders whos the real winners the guy with the girl and no money, or the guy with money and no real love.

Joker was at the park, it was cold as fuck outside and he was getting irritated by the second waiting.  He was there to meet with the combination Joe Zerilli.  When Zerilli arrived he was puffing on a cigar and smiling.  Joker looked at him with his head slightly tilted to the left and told him that the next time they needed to meet it better be somewhere with heat or fugget about id.  Joe laughed and apologized for being late.  Joker asked why are have the gangsters name Joe or joseph Zerilli just hunched his shoulders and nodded his head slowly yes left and right.

Joker asked whats going on and Joe said that the Purple gang was out and all activity in Detroit and surrounding areas belong to the combination.  Joker said he knows and they are willing to leave for a few bucks and he would ensure they never had any more problems.  He then told Zerilli he would take them out of town and if they ventured back he could do whatever the Combination wants without a word coming from him about it.  Zerilli then said one hundred and the deeds to the city is all theres.  Joker smiled and said each and they would leave tomorrow morning.  They shook hands and Zerilli said he would have the money delivered in a hour.

It was a cold winter morning. The air was crisp, and much of the landscape was frost-covered. And yet, even in this brutal weather, Rigoro was running, but not for exercise or anything like that. He was fleeing the crime scene that he instigated at a nearby coffee shop a few blocks away, along with a pocketbook snugged tightly under his arm. He figured he had lost his pursuers, and after a quick glance back, he confirmed it.

He reduced his pacing to a light jog and headed for Chalmers Park. Any other time, this place would be bustling with activity, though in the thick of winter, not so much. Perfect.

Rigoro stood still for a moment, panting and composing himself. Condensation, or what he saw as misty clouds, swirled around him with every breath he took. Once he settled down enough, he sat on the park bench and began funneling through the contents of the pocketbook. A stunning twenty-six dollars, nice. Another high-risk, low-reward job completed. And as he pocketed the money, he started to ponder his life's choices.

When his father died, a strange man showed up and handed him two thousand dollars. That was a lot of money for someone so young and inexperienced, so of course it was blown within the week. Rigoro never saw the guy's face or learned his name. To simplify things, Rigoro dubbed the mystery man "The Courier." The only thing The Courier said to Rigoro was that his father would have wanted him to take the money. Shortly after the exchange, The Courier vanished.

Fortunately for Rigoro, that was all he needed go by. He wouldn't forget that voice. If he ever came across it again, he would ask The Courier about his father. Maybe even find work. Twenty-six dollars was small potatoes for whatever business The Courier was involved in. The watch, the pinstripe suit, and the waxed suede boots spoke volumes to Rigoro; they told him The Courier wasn't some delivery guy. Rigoro could learn a lot from a guy like that and he knew it.

A smile appeared on Rigoro's face. "Maybe one day..."

Spring was in the air but so was a late winter chill.  Joker sat in the park trying to feel the warm rays of the sun.  Joker was there enjoying the moment.  No one was after him and there was a feeling of rest and peace in his bones.  He was reading the news and nothing new reported which mean even his friends were relaxing whereever they were.

Joker was in the park waiting on Wild Bill to show up.  Bill wanted to talk turkey there was an issue with product on the east side of the city however they didn't have access to the product which was a better quality then their own product.  word was it was the Jokers product and they wanted there taste in the profits.

Joker stands was he sold to whomever wanted to buy from him what they did with the product wasn't his concern.  They needed to talk with the people on the east side and work out the issue.  Joker also thought that Wild Bill should be smart enough to buy the better product and make just as much from the rest of the city.

Bill arrived on time and sat with the Joker.  Bill first words were he wants to buy from the Joker and needs the shipment as soon as humanly possible.  The product from france was stalled and they were running out.  With the better product they can cut it down and sale at a higher price and make more money.  His man handed Doc a bag.  Doc looked in and smiled Joker said they will count the money and call with where he can pick up his order.  Bill smiled and thanked him and the two shook hands and walked away from each other.
