What do you think of the theory that the world will end in 2012?

The world has already ended numerous times. It became a holiday, the Doomsday.

so you think it's all a load of b/s?

Well of course it is goddamn it.

The world will end one day and it will be in a blink of an eye not on some calendered date. 

thats like the Myan calander 2012 is the last date and so everyone asumes its the end Wtf people lol you ever think HEY THEY RAN OUT OF ROOM!

And speaking of Myans, i was always intrigued by the fact that no one knows what happened to them they just disappear. There are other civilisations like that around the globe thats just Disappeared off the face of the earth no clues to where they went either.

 The Mayan calender doesn't signal the end of the world, they said that 2012 will be "The changing of a God". They never say it will be the end of the world, they say "It will be the end of the world as we KNOW it". However, the last time they predicted a changing of a "God" was the ice age!

People do know what happend to the Mayans, they over farmed trees without replanting, which over a period of time caused oxygen deficiences, which eventually leads to death.They were very smart people in somes ways but in reality they killed theirselves, not their greatist achievment.

Not sure i believe it or not but i can say for damn sure i will be smoking a biiig reefer on that day, waiting for the greatist firework show of all time :)

StillSmokin is partially right that the world as we know it now will end. Not the end of civillization itself.

In Native American culture, which is close to Mayan, both predict that world is coming full circle. One side of the cirlce, being the beginning is the feminine side. As we go around the circle, it becomes masculine. In the last 100 years wars have been prominent with the advancement of technology making war more catastrophic. In 2012, the prediction is the world will shift dramatically back to feminine to start the cycal again.

This is my opinion and my cultures belief, so it's still everyone's own interpetation culturally.

well think about this.

On the 11/9/01, over 3,000 people died in a terrorist attack.

On the 10/3/11, over 16,000 people died in a natural disaster.

here's the scary part:

add 11/9/01 to 10/3/11 and you get 21/12/12 = the day the world is supposed to end.

Just saying........

as long as I get the day of work for it, am not fussed

Jan 1st 2012 @ 12:00am the earth is going to tilt and we're all going to slide off the edge and into a dust pan of a giant. Yep you've heard it here first, we're all just a bunch of microscopic assholes.

I'm not saying that I believe it's going to happen exactly like people say and that the world will end. The Mayan's have been right about a lot of stuff before though!

The world will end in couple of billions years. Just that two dates when combined give a date in 2012 doesn't mean that's the doomsday. Only supersticious people believe in this, and I'm not one of them.

i have serious doubts, and when probable end of the world comes i believe technological evolultion will mean the human race lives longer even if not on earth
