When Roxie told Godfather - Chairman Dagda and Godfather Squirrelly-Dan that she wanted to throw a block party on Main Street for New Year’s Eve they were all in and granted her the use of their Charga-Plate.  She just hoped they wouldn’t be to shock when they received the bills.  But needless to say the party was on.   After Peter-Gangi and Aliyan worked wonders, begging, pleading and bribing officials, Roxie was able to secure three blocks on Main Street.  Chellie  and raven27 came though and obtains an outstanding construction crew ready to come in and set up tents, booths, tables, a nice size stage and the works. Paradise and Le-Semois got some of the locals to help make it a success.

Roxie decided to go with a Luau Theme. With the streets lined with Tiki Torches she followed the trend with tropical-theme tablecloths, napkins, plates with images such as pineapples and exotic flowers in the dining areas. There were three bars set up throughout the blocks with spirits and floating champagne fountains.  @KingSolomon contracted the entertainment for the evening with several local bands and jazz singers.

Happy New Year Everyone

Roxie couldn’t believe how everything just fell into place. 

Ms_Ann_Thropy  and Peter-Gangi people set up fine dining areas in each block.  Dagda ‘s associates set up Cheese Barns with an assortment of cheeses, meats, fruit, crackers and fresh baked bread.   Special ovens were rolled in to keep Sisyphus‘s  Saucyphus Pizzas hot plus  AbsurdiTea and  Sisyphus' Orange Juice stands.

Julius, Aliyan, Genesis and Peter-Gangi men had the bars all set up and the champagne was already flowing from the fountains.

When Roxie finally got dressed and arrived back to Main Street people had already started to gather.  The Tiki Torches were burning bright throwing off a heat taking the little chill out the air and intensified the smell of the delicious food being prepared.   The first band was on stage and already drawing a crowd.

Roxie had no doubt that this was going to be a nice New Year’s Eve party and everyone will have a good time bringing in the New Year.

When Ann got word that Roxie was putting together a block party, and asked her to be part of the catering, she was thrilled. Not only was her restaurant booked solid for the night, but this party could expand her fine cuisine reputation and help her business.  Ann was able to call in some favors for extra help and set about with orders what was to go where and keep the food platters filled.

Hor d'oeuvres of stuffed mushroom caps, smoked salmon canapes, chicken liver wrapped in bacon and petite sandwiches filled the linen clothed long tables.

Alfonzo, her head Garmache chef, was barking for the lamb roll and veal rollatini to be basted and then spoon tasted the sauce. With a nod, he clapped his hands and kitchen staff scurried about with precision.

It was unseasonably warm this New Year’s Eve, and people would pack the New York streets as soon as the sun set. Ann looked around and spotted Roxie who looked to be going over a list. Ann made her way to Roxie and smiled before placing a kiss on her cheek. “Roxie, you really out did yourself this time. This all looks fantastic! And you look amazing, as ever! Thank you for asking me to be a small part in this New Year bash”. Ann felt she was growing flush with the warm temperature and the gushing compliments but she was very impressed with how this New York party was shaping up.

Aliyan arrived to the party an hour before the midnight celebrations, setting up all his spirits at the drinks table. He had bought a variety of spirits from all over the world.

"Good day all" he grinned, pouring himself a Gin with ice, he sipped at the watery colour liquid and sighed, looking around at the set up. He made his way around the room picking at the snacks and smiling to himself as music played, heading to Roxie where he greeted her with hug. "Good idea Rox" he grinned.

Pete arrived at the block party, after working hard to secure the permits for this party.  He damn sure was planning on enjoy it.  Roxie had shelled out a lot of cash for this and Pete restaurant was one of the caterers at this shindig.   Pete arrived after having a few drinks in his bar on Mulberry Street.  Pete was happy to see the civilians from the neighborhood walking around with their kids laughing and smiling.  Pete shook hands with a few of them because they knew him from the neighborhood.  

Pete spotted Roxie as she was greeted by a few locals and local officials.  Pete started walking towards her as she was stuck speaking to so many people that were telling her jokes and thanking her for the event.  Pete spotted his people from the restaurant, which he shifted directions causing him walk over and grab a sandwich and a beer.  Pete spoke with Sal Aprile and Tommy Blundetto the managers at the Windsor.  After a short conversation Pete looked back over at Roxie and she gave him a little nod as she was turning away to speak with another politician.     

Roxie was extremely impressed with both Ms_Ann_Thropy and Peter-Gangi ‘s gourmet chefs  who possesses an immense amount of talent, skill and experience in the culinary arts.  The gourmet food was of high quality and rarity, crafted to deliver exquisite taste and was presented in a pleasing fashion. 

When Ms_Ann_Thropy approached her with such a warm greeting she couldn’t wait to thank her. Roxie really admired Ann because one needs to possess a great range of skills all of a very high standard to run such a fine establishment, plus it also takes tenacity and perseverance to achieve such a status.

Good evening Ann.  I can’t thank you enough for all you have contributed to make the block party a success. The food looks and smells so good.  I am a little to excited to eat much but I did taste a small bit of the smoked salmon canapés and oh my God what a unique  flavor. You can be assured I will be visiting your restaurant and sure others will feel the same way.  Again thank you for being a part of this and I wish you continued success in the new year.

They walked down the block and one of Ann’s chef was trying to catch her attention.  She told Roxie she would talk with her later, she hoped there wasn’t a problem.  Roxie knew she was very busy and told her she looked forward to talking with her later.

Roxie then strolled over to the bar that Peter-Gangi had set up and punched him in the arm.  He asked what was that for and they both just laughed.

Well it looks like everything is turning out really nice.  I know you had to pull some strings to get the area for us and I appreciate it so much.  She pulled him by the arm to the champagne fountain and loaded up two glasses of champagne.  She passed him a glass, held hers up to his

Cheers to the ending of the year and a new one arriving. We had a good year, let the New Year bring more of the same.  I thank you for hanging in here with me. They clicked their glasses together and Peter took a quick sip and placed his glass down.

What you don’t like champagne?

Peter told her nah not really, champagne is a woman’s drink.  Roxie punched him in the arm again.

It was late, and unlike most nights, Luis was itching to get out and hit the town, get away from the stress at his office.. yes tonight he would go out drinking, his cigarette smoke plumed into the air as he took one final drag and put it out in his tray and stood up. On his desk sat a flier for a local New Years party that was going on and decided this was the place he would make an appearance, and without waste he and his bodyguards were on there way.

Lucky for him, the drive was a short distance from his office and upon arrival, was happy to see many familiar faces as he stepped out of the back of his black sedan.

"Hello, thanks for the invite.. I wasn't really sure If I would make it but-"

Luis was cut off quickly with a warm handshake from his dear friend Roxie who scurried him into the mix with everyone, offering drinks and food.. yes, it was going to be quite the night.. but before he got too carried away, he got the attention from everyone present as he gathered in the center somewhere and clicked a piece of silverware against a glass, sending a loud echo of ringing glass through the building and smiling as everyone looked.

"Happy New Years everyone, I hope you all are enjoying yourselves tonight. I wan't to give a special thanks to Roxie for organizing something like this for everyone to come together and have fun.. and also the big man himself, Dagda for making this city what it is today.. be safe, have fun, and most of all.. don't any of you go home tonight and drive drunk! We all got chauffeurs for that!"

He took a slight bow and found a seat at one of the tables nearby that was reserved for him, along with a bottle of Crown and Cork whiskey that his family still made to this day.

Roxie was so glad to see that Luis_Patangeli.  It had been a long time since she had the pleasure of having in company in a more social atmosphere. She gave him a big hug.

It’s so nice you could make it Luis. A great party needs one important ingredient. It needs great people to show up. Thank you for coming.  I hope that this New Year will be the best year of your life. May this year bring new happiness, new goals, new achievements, and many new inspirations to your life.

After Roxie showed Luis all the awesome places he could get some great food they down the block to hear the next band that had set up on the stage.

Shinigami was wondering about how and where to spend his last minutes in the year, he thought about many ways and places but its not fun to go there alone, being with people much better for him.

Just before Shinigami giving up his plans he received an invite from his dear friend Roxie to come and have party with them, he couldn't hide his smile, Shini prepared him self and walked to the place, it was really crowded, there were many people, families and kids running everywhere, laughing and having fun, everything about the place and the atmosphere looked amazing.

Shinigami walked to the bar looking for his friend Roxie, he hugged her once he saw her and wished her a happy new year, its been a while since they met each other.

"you are a shining star Ro as always hehe, thank you for the amazing party"

As he joined in the festivities he enjoyed himself enormously drinking beer and eating Turkey. He yells "Happy New Year Mother Fuckers." 

Roxie couldn’t believe ShinigamiK flew in from Detroit to celebrate bringing in the New Year with her.  Since her good friend left New York they had missed each other a few times when she was in Detroit or he was in New York, they had only communicated by phone and it was so nice seeing him.  He approached her and gave her such a genuine hug.

Hello me love, so glad you made it and happy New Year to you also.  I’m so proud of everything you accomplished this year, and can’t wait to see what you do in the coming year.  You have been a true friend and just want you to know how much I appreciate your friendship.  Roxie returned the genuine hug.   Just then they turned to see TheMurderedJr who was really enjoying himself scream out

“Happy New Year Mother fuckers, both Roxie and ShinigamiK just laughed and screamed back “Happy New Year TheMurderedJr.

@Squirrelly_Dan woke up with a pile of empties beside him and figgured it was time to rally.  He didn't have to go far to catch the party, or at least what was left of it.  He lit up a dart and scratched his nuts as he tried to get himself back into the game.  He caught a cab and tipped him generously as he made his way into Roxie 's party.  He noted that some of his favourite people were around and was truly glad that he came.  He grabbed himself a beer as all the whisky from his pregaming was still flowing through his veins.  

"Happy New Year's to all!! This is the time to make a bunch of resolutions that you aren't likely to keep, but fuck it - let's do it anyway."  

He threw his beer bottle into the garbage can.  He felt awkward for a few seconds and then reached down in and pulled it back out and took a drink.

Aliyan woke up in darkness, brushing his hand over his head to remove the sheet, he groaned, his eyes barely opening as he looked around. "What the hell happened?" He mumbled,  climbing to his feet and making his way to the drinks table to fix a coffee, stepping over other sleeping bodies.

He lit up a cigarette before walking out onto the patio area, smoking and drinking his coffee to wake himself up, what a new year it had been.
