Joseph Bonpensiero: A Name Set In Stone Started by: JosephBonpensiero on Jan 01, '22 05:14

Joseph has been on the Vegas Strip for some while now, leaving his life in Florida had never looked this good until this point in time. He arrived here in Vegas with nothing more than the clothes on his back and a .38 in his jacket.

Picking up odd jobs, running errands and doing collections for small time gangsters was the peak of his days upon his arrival, barely making enough to pay the night rates in a motel. Then one day, everything changed for the better.

He was out doing collections for a small time crook who he became close with, upon his return to drop off and collect his cut of the money, he was introduced to someone who’d introduce him to the keys of the world. The late right hand of The Result, AmeliaGato.

She was there collecting dues, all the small time crews on the Strip answer to The Result, operating under them as subsidiaries. Their mutual partner had given Amelia the rundown on Joey, and she must’ve been impressed. She knew he could handle his own, never asked questions and never failed to carry a job out. So she offered him to come and temporarily work for her, to test the waters with him.

Over the coming days, Joey handled three tasks for her (none of which can be spoke about here), and upon completion, a note was slid underneath the motel room door. There was nothing more than an address and a time on the note. He knew who it was from and what it was about, but he was unsure of what was going to happen. He’d seen and done too much, if he’d outlived his usefulness, this was the end for Joey.

The time came, and Joey headed to the location. The place was like a palace. Standing outside the home’s gates with his wits about him, a million different scenarios raced through his head. Seconds later, a shadowy figure emerged, walking down the driveway towards him. He took a step back and planted his feet firmly on the ground, anticipating things to go south. But upon further inspection, it was Amelia. The gates opened, and she said no words. She just signalled for him to follow her and headed back towards the home.

Upon entering the house, he was overwhelmed by his surroundings, it was like something from a movie. The pair headed upstairs and down a hallway, and at the end of the hallway there was a door that was opened, a woman inside sitting behind a desk in the dimly lit room. Amelia waited on the outside of the door and signalled for him to enter.

Unsure still of what was about to happen, he swallowed his pride and waltzed into the room, the door closing behind him. The woman behind the desk stands up before he can even say a word. This woman was Circle-of-Fire, the biggest boss on the Strip and the Don of The Result. She put her hand out and shook his, introducing herself briefly, she then ordered him to sit. She made the fact known that she was aware of who he was, where he came from, why he was there and the work he’d done for the family. Joey panicked thinking this was a setup organised by the family in Florida who wanted his head and who’d killed his cousin Vinny.

She could see that he was nervous and understood why he was. She assured him nothing was wrong and continued to offer him a proposition. At that moment, Joey was brought into the family as an associate. But that was only the beginning.

After being given a fake passport, some startup cash and an untraceable gun, Joey went to town doing what he knew best, making money, and lots of it. He turned over millions in less than a month of working with the family, lining the pockets of the upper structures quite nicely. He’d begun proving himself as not only an asset, but the ideal candidate for being made.

After beginning to earn himself not only a fortune but also quite the name in the family, the streets and across the entire city, it was time he earned his button.

One night at HQ, the place was completely empty, excluding himself and every made member of the family. He was called into the Don’s office and when he entered the room, everybody was sitting at the table. CoF sitting at the head, her hands on either side and the others all along the sides in order of rank. He was told to sit at the other end of the table and took his oath, being made into the family.

And from that day forth, everything started turning around. Everybody knew who he was before he even entered the room, clubs in town wouldn’t allow him to enter through the front like the regular schmucks, kids wanted to be him and ladies wanted to be with him. He opened his own club, bought himself a penthouse above the casino and drove every kind of car you could poke a stick at, life couldn’t have been better right?

Fast forward time a little, and he was promoted to being one of the family Capos, taking care of the soldiers and holding order on the streets. He had cops on the payroll, passers by would open doors for him and those who dared to test him would pay the ultimate price, all without him needing to lift a pinky. At this point in his life, he was becoming somewhat of a legend in the Vegas underworld.

A war broke out when two made guys from other families decided to turn rogue and try and take over various footholds across the country, leaving several people from different families on the commission dead. Unfortunately, The Result weren’t lucky enough to be one of the families who were safe. CoF took a round in the shoulder but recovered but Amelia wasn’t so lucky, being left dead in the street. It rattled the family, she was a key piece in the backbone of not only the family but also the city.

After the war ended and the rogues were handled, Vegas was left without a Godfather, several crews were broken up and there was a huge hole in The Result. The family needed him more than ever. In the coming days, Vegas received a new Godfather, Mikazuki. He took the courtesy to introduce himself to the new Godfather and brought him to his club, giving him a welcome party.

After the party, he head back to HQ. He saw a bunch of new faces hanging around, these were the people who were left without families after the war. CoF took the liberty of bringing some of them in. He introduced himself to a few, then headed up to the Don’s office to catch up on things and to find out how things were after the war.

They spoke for a while and after being all caught up, CoF told Joey that she needed him, that it was his time to step up. Unsure at first what she meant, he blindly agreed anyway because he was nothing but loyal to his family, them being the only family he had left. She then soon revealed to him that she was promoting him to be the family’s underboss, to help her and the uppers oversee the family and to help bring new associates in. He wore the promotion like a medal of honour and got to work,

Now, Joseph Bonpensiero is like a household name in the Vegas underworld. From starting off as a broke, homeless, smalltime crook to being one of the biggest and most respected key players in the city. Through hard work, sheer dedication and undying loyalty to la cosa nostra, his name is forever set in stone not only as a Vegas mobster, but as a legend in this thing.
