| From the man who gives you Goosebumps to Godfather. | Started by: Grimaldo on Jan 03, '22 23:59 |

The time had come for R-L_Stine to remove the old Godfather of 12th street. So Grimaldo and @StaleDoughnuts, helped the man load up the van. A couple of old, large chests was the only thing he needed. The three pilled in and headed to the has been, Godfathers compound.
Once there, they pull the van over near a lage locked gate surrounding the compound. They climb out and remove the two chests, setting them side by side along the back of the van. Stine walks over, casually unlocks the first crate and flips it open. To Grimaldo's surprise, lying at the bottom was a simple ventriloquist dummy.
"A dummy?!"
Grimaldo says with confusion in his voice. The dummy leaps from the chest and lands on the ground in front of the men, then does a quick spin. Grim and Stale jump back as the surprise sets in. The annoying voice of the dummy crackles as he begins to speak.
"WHO YOU CALLIN' DUMMY!! YA' DUMMY!! HA! HA! HA! NAME'S SLAPPY! AND DON'T WORRY R-L. I REMEMBER THE PLAN!"
With that, the dummy dashes off in a blur towards the compound. R-L_Stine, turns toward the second chest and unlocks it, flips it open and pulls out an antique typewriter. It's old and covered in soot from a fire. He places it on the floor of the van, dusts off the ancient writing utensil and cranks a page of paper into the machine.
He cranks the carriage back into place and gives his knuckles a crack, before he begins to type. As soon as his fingers start to tap the keys, a pink substance begins to ooze from the typewriter. It drains down the back of the van and onto the ground, pooling up in the street. It forms The Blob That Ate Everyone in its path. The blob smashes through the front gates, absorbing guard after guard making a path for the men.
Words spill on to the page and as they do, monster after monster clouds the area around the van bombarding the HQ. RL_Stine, finishes the story and the monsters disappear in a haze of smoke, leaving a trail of destruction behind them.
R-L, packs up the typewriter and casually strolls through the would be fortress. Grimaldo and StaleDoughnuts, walk behind in a state of amazement, at the tale that had just unfolded infront of them. At the end of the hallway lies the old Godfather of 12th street's office. There he sits, tired to the old plush chair with a telephone wire. Sitting in his lap is the lifeless body of Slappy the Dummy.
"Get this damned, cursed doll off of me for Christ sake!"
The Godfather, yells out in horror as R-L_Stine shuts the office door behind him. When he opens the door the old man has completely disappeared. All that remains is a green, glowing pile of goo. With the Godfather dispatched, the three men take the long ride back to the HQ and arrive with even more questions than they started with.
Back at Camp Nightmare
A large party had already began to break out. Lights were strung up in the trees. Massive picnic tables littered the area, covered with the "good" white linens. Servers trolled the area handing out glasses of champagne and a pig had been roasting over an open bed of coals the entire day. Accompanied by just about every side known to mankind.
Grimaldo, climbs up on to the event stage and quiets down the band. He raises a glass to the microphone and begins to clank a fork against it. Slowly but surely a crowd begins to gather in front of the man before he speaks.
"First off, I just want to thank everyone for coming out today. I see a lot of faces from all over the country and it means the world to us you could be here.
"Every since I met R-L, way back when, he's been a good friend to me. He's always been there without hesitation and without fail. He's charismatic, helpful and one hell of a business man. I'm glad I found myself as your right hand man all those days ago and I couldn't be prouder of where we're at today.
"You deserve this and I mean that with my whole heart. So, everyone stand up on this joyous day and give a round of applause. To the new Godfather of 12th street Detroit!
And now, if anyone else would like to make use of the stage, feel free to do so.. Enjoy the free food and refreshments everyone."
Grimaldo steps from the stage and contemplates telling anyone the events that transpired earlier... Not that anyone would believe it. |

HeadHunterX hurries in through the doors, attempting to not miss a moment of the reception. He arrives just in time for Grimaldo's speech. After Grimaldo finishes he approaches "Well said brother. I am so happy to see you guys in one piece. I heard some rumors of what transpired and if half of them are true... well lets just say again, I am happy to see you in one piece." HeadHunterX holds out his hand and the two shake. "I am not one for speeches. I do however have to first thank Grimaldo for setting all of this up. It came together great. With that, R-L_Stine I wanted to give you a huge congratulations as well as thank you for putting your trust in me. I am looking forward as we continue to work together for many years to come. Cheers!" HeadHunterX raises his glass then takes a swig. |

The night is cold but that does not deter Pepsi from taking his evening walk. Admiring the snow falling and the red halo illuminating from the street posts his mind got to wondering how women can walk these cobblestone roads in heals. He shakes that thought and asks himself what it was he was supposed to do this evening. Suddenly remembers there is another celebratory event he must attend. He pulls out his tie and stops to put it on. As he turns the corner, he hears familiar voices. He arrived at his destination in time to hear Grimaldo proudly and joyfully announcing the new Godfather in Detroit. "Grimaldo, this was a wonderful speech. The power and enthusiasm in your voice resonates in Detroit." Godfather R-L_Stine, congratulations to you and to your crew and city. Best wishes to Detroit.
Pepsi continues with his walk. |

Unsure how her liver would cope with yet another Godfather rising to the occasion, though this one has... Upon approaching the venue the smell of food flooding through the area, wine glasses "clinking" from a distance, laughter and cheers could be heard throughout 12th street, Freyja quickly trotted towards Grimaldo and R-L_Stine with a platter of meat rolls that looked to be shaped in fingers dipped or painted in ketchup depending on the way you looked at it. Freyja was no baker but they tasted devine upon her sample to sober up. "Congratulations Godfather Stine, am so proud of you getting to this day though I'm sure Lincoln_Lawyer is still shifting through the pile of paperwork to ensure he can derail further cases for a week or two, Grim splendid throw together! Can't wait to see what you two and Staledonuts make of 12th, if you need someone to do some target practice at Camp Nightmare with that dummy again please give me a ring!" |

Mickey had been snowed under, he'd recently had to spend sometime downtown before being released without charge. There was an old saying that a Lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client, but truth be told Mickey didn't trust anyone else with his legal defence. On top of his own woes he was still fending off the FBN from perfoming abfull examination of waste ground in 12th street looking for some disappeared kids or some such. Finishing his Morley he flicks the butt down an alley, accidentally hitting the corpse of JulianLennon, shrugging he looks around at the visiting dignitaries, CLO, Grimaldo, HeadHunterX, Freyja, @SaturoGojo, @Sakuna, @ShinigamiK, even Pepsi-cola was there.
"R-L_Stine, this has been a long time coming my friend. I still find it strange that before our fathers were thrown together during a war that our families had never worked together. I know that my old man had a lot of respect for yours, and considered his time as Marsh's RHM as some of the best experiences of his life. His respect for your father I carry for you, you are one of the smartest, insightful and loyal men Inhave ever met, and I am so proud to call you my friend. It truely is a pleasure to see you follow your father's footsteps, it has been a genuine pleasure to work with you these last few months, and I want to know that if you need anything that I can assist with then please do not hesitate to ask, my door will always be open to you my friend."
Shaking hands with his friend, Mickey steps back allowing others to congratulate R-L. |
