If you follow U.S. politics Mike Durant is running for a state seat in Alabama. He is the perfect man for the job. Successful business man. Many successful years in the military. All around good guy. |

| Trump did more for the U.S. than people are willing to admitt. Even if he should never tweet his opinions | |

DocHoliday - what did he do? And which people won't admit that? Trump's damage to the prestige, mystique and project of American power is incalculable. Like Britain after Brexit, once mighty powers are reduced to chaotic punchlines. |

I am pleased more and more are letting the anti-Trump syndrome they had leave their dinner tables. Anyone who judges a candidate running for any office, because they may have agreed with Trumps policies, I feel for them. Their minds are clouded. |

DocHoliday - neither point has any substance. Who did he fire? And in what ways did he "lighten the load"? And how are either of these things for the benefit of America as a whole? Trump, because he was such a weak and chaotic leader, failed to really change/introduce many laws. He brought in a huge tax break for the wealthiest in society, but that's standard republican behaviour. What Trump did do, and what his genius is, is convincing fans of his that, through him, they have political agency and that he is on their side. People who haven't achieved much in life desperately want to feel like a winner - and as you identified, life is full of people who haven't done too well in life. Trump is a past master at stoking their frustrations and insecurities and giving them a little dopamine hit by making them feel included and special. You won't see this, but Trump's greatest achievement is rupturing and convulsing the GOP. They will never have the same standing or stature again. Biden is the status quo. He will do as much for the average American as Trump will. That's a tragedy. Overall though, as an anti-Imperialist, I am glad Trump was elected in 2016. Clinton would have pursued a bloody and destabilising middle east policy. But it's time for an actual change. America's decline has been greatly speeded up by Trump. |

All this guys talk about being on a mission from God, while at the same time supporting his own families incest/rape for decades just... that level of depravity just really doesn't deserve to be a representative of the USA. Its an insult to God and country :/ There really isnt any wiggle room on this. |

Well I have to disagree with you Squishy on this one. Mike is dead set on getting rid of politicians that are dead weight and just sit in congress doing nothing to change or improve the American way of life. I was hoping people would realize the need for improvement even at the government level. Things that don't change or improve die out over time. If that is where people want America to go then good luck. I served in the U.S. Army with Mike and he is a very upstanding person in every sense. |

I looked him up and read the family stuff. He had a choice to associate himself with the victim of a heinous crime or the perpetrator. His choice and total lack of contrition demonstrate his character. People deeply attached to Trump and the notion that he cares for them remind me of a quote I saw once: "People that think politicians care about them are the same as people who think the stripper likes them" As a former military man, DocHoliday, do you believe that Trump would endanger himself for others? Has he ever done anything truly selfless? He's the epitome of a 'leader' who would fight to the last drop of everyone else's blood. |

Democrats everywhere in this game lol I am sure everyone here knows someone of questionable character so I guess that means no one should run for politics because that makes you guilty by association. Anyone that is somewhat good with words can twist the truth to suit their means. Is that not the meaning of a real politician. No one is prefect so put your crosses away. |
