Theft, Murder, Fraud: Lincoln's Writing Competitions Started by: WilliamButlerYeats on Jan 31, '22 21:04

WilliamButlerYeats walked through the streets.  He is sick and tired of the scams, the unfulfilled promises.  Most of all, he is sick of the killing and the dying.  He steps on his soapbox and begins to speak

"Friends, I am here to report a crime.  The murder of the Competitive Writing Community.  And I charge a man I shall call Lincoln with the murder of said community.  This was death by numerous assaults.  I will deal with them.

THEFT

Lincoln ruined a competition hosted by a rival.  He took the prizes intended for the winners of the then Leader of the Streets competition and gave them to someone who hadn't entered the competition.  This was straigh-forward theft, and strictly contrary to the standard  rules of competitive writing competition which, as common sense dictates, rely on people who enter the competition being handed prizes that they win.

In awarding the prize to someone who hadn't entered the competition, Lincoln removed the incentive element of incentivised competitive writing competition.  So disheartened was the then Leader of the Streets, that he curtailed his competitions.  The absence is keenly felt by writers everything, particularly when we consider the next two atrocities this individual was involved in.

MURDER

Much has been written about the disaster that was Lincoln's competition launched immediately after previously smashing competitive writing principles apart with the winner being someone who hadn't entered.  By most historical accounts, Lincoln hosted a writing competition that inflicted war-time casualties on a peace-time population.

Lincoln himself acknowledged 62 fatalities.

BLOOD IS ON HIS HANDS.

FRAUD

His most recent compeition, the tragically maligned Sunday Roast, promised the winner $25m.  The sole entrant has not received his prize.

Who has Lincoln given the prize to?

We were going to ask Roya for her thoughts on this subject, but here is what she would likely say:

"What a cunt.  Why does anyone fucking like him?  Fucking vermin.  Kill him.  Cunt."

I do not believe this.  But I do believe that he has questions to answer.

Report Post Tip
I dont care about the said writing competitions. You keep bringing the same subject up, over and over again...

I will not call you a cunt or say I will kill you, because this is all very tiresome and I shall not waste my time anymore, at least not now.

Good luck.
Report Post Tip

Your bloodline continues to talk nonsense, over and over.

Here you are yet again, clutching at straws and clinging to the past on the one scenario that you can think of which somehow connects you to Lincoln, knowing full well after being told on MULTIPLE occasions that he acted upon my request, nothing more. All this proves is that yet again, you have nothing new to say and instead of simply taking a few moments to try and drum up something decent to discuss with the fair residents of the six cities, you prefer to stand on your soapbox spamming bullshit that no one cares about.

This episode was finished months ago William. Please, take this opportunity to go back to the drawing board and try to think of something new/productive.

All you are currently doing is making yourself like like a fool.
