What is common sense? Is there really a such thing as common sense? In detail please explain what you think common sense is.......

I'll start first I don't believe there's a such thing as common sense. we all come from diffrent backgrounds and get taught diffrent ways we all have diffrent experiences. These journeys we have everyday shapes us metally which creates a unique thought process which we all have... So one might say it's common since to flush the toilet after you use the bathroom where I'm from. But what your from an area where everyone uses outhouses and say that person visited a friend in Michigan and the area she stayed had a sewage system. And this person used that bathroom without flushing would you tell that person it's "Common sense" to flush after you use it?

The ability to resolve a common problem that has a simple solution.

I would see having common sense as the ability to take in your surroundings and the people of the situation you find yourself in and being able to come to the decision that is best appropriate.

So take your example for instance, if I was in an area that had a communal toilet that wasn't flushed after each use it would be socially unacceptable to flush it after your use, it could also be seen as an insult or ignorance to your surroundings for not taking the way things are done there into account.

And vice versa if I was from an area that did that and travelled to an area that had a full sewage system then I would utilize it. If your travelling to an area unknown to you or venturing into a culture that is different to your own it would be considered common sense to make yourself aware of socially unacceptable behaviour so that you would not insult or cause any issue out of ignorance.
