Squirrelly-Dan was in no mood to be chatting or be an orator. The chair seemed rather large (or himself small) this evening - but something definitely needed to be said.
"Flowah may actually be a better person than me, and today's events underline the fierceness and unfairness of this life.
I can't say this was a long time coming, but things added up where I made a choice that Chicago had to be removed yesterday. Allow me to go back to the fateful night where my mentor Dagda was slain. I was rapidly notified by my RHM at the time, Le-Semois that he was dead and we needed direction.
Obviously, I would fight to the death for Dagda - and that's what I did. My gut at the time told me that parts of Chicago would be a danger in that situation, while other parts would not be. The city itself has always been kind of piece-made going back to when @Odin and Space-pole moved in to help Flowah. Things happened rapidly, and Tyrion was dead before communication was made while Flowah was pro'd and Zeitgeist was soon mowed down by Buttercup. Eventually, cadence was found in the battle and I asked that shots not be lobbed in the way of Chicago members.
I reached out to Flowah and apologized and asked to move forward rebuilding together. She agreed and that was that. Nonetheless - time eats away at your resolve sometimes. Over the past couple of weeks - I been told from credible sources that she remained in the war room with Buttercup after we ceased fire. Additionally, there were a couple wise guys who were verrrry old that made our city nervous of rogue threats. Lastly, if I were her - I'd wish harm on my city too. It all added up to the fact that I felt that Chicago needed to be removed in the interest of my city. A time to attack was decided and locations were drawn up. Philadelphia, New York and Detroit were in on the gig, and LA and LV eventually joined in. I I apologize to the gangsters of Chicago. It truly is just business.
Clearly, there is a leak somewhere inside my operation. I hope to find it, I'm a simple and straightforward fella. Information in this regard would be muchly appreciated. Literally minutes before we attacked, Flowah shot Le-Semois. The war proceeded, but we obviously suffered a few more casualties than we would have liked - Le-semois being my biggest loss, Aliyan included as well. Chicago fought as they should and I harbour no ill will to them or their kin.
So - a hot mess is what we have. In the coming days, I intend to meet with the good godfathers of all cities to decide a path forward with them all at the table. It certainly seems fucking ironic right now - but I'd rather build bridges than burn them. Communication will be key.
I know every story has 2 sides, but this is mine. May everyone who lost their lives rest in peace, and may those surviving become stronger. Please stay tuned for further communication."
Dan sipped his moonshine to take the edge off and went back to his Brooklyn operation. |

It is always refreshing to get someone to speak after events that we have all witnessed. Whilst my mother was a nobody in Chicago I morn her death with a little confusion. You mention taking out Chicago was required and explained your reasoning thank you. However there is a single crew left completely untouched and still operating which doesn't fit with that statement. I wonder please if you could clarify or perhaps the remaining crew in Chicago? In the absence of information where something doesn't seem quite right sadly people tend to fill in the gaps themselves. It is with respect that I ask this in the context of your speech. This isn't salty, I miss my mother but will recover this is a simple question asked in respect. |

Ace-Of-Spades as he said in the 2nd paragraph, some parts of CH were a threat whilst others were not.. The remaining CH crew were not involved in the war so were not harmed. Thats my guess anyway. |

Salamandre cheers for a reply always difficult to navigate these convos with grieving people and as I mentioned this is not salty. It is my understanding that the other crew taken down as a result of the Godfathers choices were asleep at the time so it seems at odds with involvement. If being loyal to the Godfather (mother) gets confused with being involved then might that only lend itself to another crew not being so(loyal)? Again a genuine question. I don't understand how a crew resting / sleeping posed a threat when another active at the time did not is all. I have no right to ask these questions I realise I do so respectfully, it just doesn't make sense - it simply could be there is knowledge that my mother was not privy to but on paper is confusing. |

I find it amusing that they were let to live anyways. I guess when loyalty is no longer something that is valued, it makes sense that there is none to a fallen Godfather. Asleep or no, loyalty should be a thing brought back. |

I have a unique connection to my pasted mum that some don't recognise but it is strong. The family taken down were exceptionally loyal. They were also asleep so no threat and only knew of the god mothers actions after it had occured in a frantic telegram delivered immediately outside this world to wake up and get protection as she might have messed up. They had no knowledge were not involved and only knew after the fact. It is history but it is important to note too. The other family my late mother tells me were active at the time and relaxed talking about eating steak and generally hanging out. I just don't understand the threat claimed. I will not continue in an annoying way to beat this drum but understanding this would be a great help in my grief recovery. |

Silence speaks volumes. Thank you for confirming the absence of info or factual response to allow most to fill in the gaps. |

In my family's journals there are many crews even whole cities and multiple whole cities that have been taken down whilst they were sleeping. This is not an uncommon practice in this thing of ours. Also Ace their answer doesn't mean anything other than no one felt it important to answer the question twice. There was loyalty with that last crew standing like there is always with a "last crew standing" or a member who suddenly moved from a city or crew to one on the opposite side and is suddenly in a hand position. The issue is not the killers the issue is the people who gave the impression they were loyal to that city under attack, when it is obvious that it was not other wise they would be with their fallen compatriots. So whose loyalty is in question here? Common sense would say the crew left standing, in a city after a war. Ace-of-Spades I am curious why you question this as Flowah stayed asleep most of the last war, and was the last one standing in the city. Seems it is common practice in this thing of ours, and only questioned when people who the questioner deems as non grata use it . Perhaps it is because the Council didn't want the city completely empty, to make it easier to keep out those dreaded NPC Crews as they are tagged as, perhaps that is the reason here. The real question is are you looking for a reason that will fuel bitterness, or one that will allow yourself and others to move on. |

Fair play on this one. A lot of the time nowadays we see cities suffer a scorched earth policy. In this takedown/war a protection order was sent out and people saved. The survivors were then told why their for.er leader was removed. There has to be trust. It appears that had broken down. From there it's just a slippery slope unfortunately. Rest in peace to the fallen and may Chicago be great once again. |

There used to be a time I read where polite question post events were welcomed not mocked post events. I asked a simple question polietly and I am not that green that I understand it is the right of those carrying out the acts to not reply of course, this often leaves most to make their own assumptions or gain the information via other means. It is not a case of answering twice it hasn't been answered which is their choice as stated. It doesn't matter as other means have meant I know why anyway which isn't pretty reading but makes sense. I came here with no bitterness as I said many times if you'd lisyened just a question was all. I will learn that the streets are not available for open discussion politely presented without being ridiculed - respect goes in a 2 way street no matter the rank. |

squirrelly-dan I’m not quite sure what excuse you are using for your thuggery, as what you are saying does not seem to cover it. A city recently devastated by a war that they were not involved in, still on its knees, poses a threat to you. It was you and yours that put it there in the first place. There’s leadership, loyalty, honour and then there’s what you do. I’m my mothers final moments she explained to me how a certain CL from Chicago would survive. As when you play for both sides and have fooled everyone; you always will. She explained there is numerous leaks within your “operation”. Where you think you have the full picture, you really don’t. Take a good look at who is closest to you. Although, your biggest problem is who you’ve left survive in Chicago, that will be your undoing. My mother also told me about a time quite recently where you called out everyone in the streets. She regretted not putting a bullet between your eyes. |

CLO blames Dan for his close friend's death. CLO and K_W are practically the same person. Their philosophy, leadership, and loyalty to each other is unwavering. In Chicago there remains a dire threat. CLO builds a gun, and builds it well. |
