A legacy is all a man has or even wants to leave behind when he departs from this world. BrunoD was no different. Growing up under a single mother with two sisters was tough. Especially when he was the reason his father wasn't around anymore. "You got the money?" BrunoD was making his weekly round of collections in his beat. His area wasn't much because he wasn't a Made Man yet. But the respect and sometimes fear he instilled in the common civilian was more than most given to any guy with a button. His dark suit, white shirt, and loosened tie, paired with his infamous baseball bat were his trademark. His rough attitude to get things done matched his unpressed outfit. While he was rough around the edges, he was always respectful... especially to those he grew up around. "If you don't got the money, just make a sandwich just like back in the old country. I'll give you a couple days to get your issues resolved but I need this money for upstairs. Got it?" The troubled butcher smiled with disbelief. His store while busy, just could not generate enough profit quick enough for his weekly protection payments to BrunoD. The butcher's teenage son attempted to give BrunoD a friendly nod when left the store but he didn't notice. "Hey pop. There were a couple guys asking about BrunoD the other day. Was around lunch time... I didn't..." His father cut him short and his voice filled with anger. "You didn't say anything right son? We don't talk about BrunoD. Ever." The shaken up teen ensured his dad he didn't say anything to the gentlemen who looked like cops the other day. |

A couple days later had passed by and BrunoD still needed to collect from the butcher. He had just finished a job for Boss, Sinaya. Was a simple truck heist really, involved about four others from New York city. Has he walked down Central Avenue towards the shop, he noticed a suspicious looking car outside. Not many cars ever parked outside the meat shop before, nor really ever in this neighborhood. He continued slowly towards the butcher to get a better look. When he was about a block away, he noticed a few heavy set men questioning both Luigi and his teenage son. BrunoD saw some kids playing baseball in the park adjacent to where he was and decided to go grab one of the kid's bats. He paid one of the kids a few bucks for their maple bat. BrunoD crossed the street and entered the meat store... "Hey Luigi. Whats goin here?" BrunoD could see the fear in Luigis son's eyes. It was as if they were being interrogated for a crime. One of the three heavies reached inside their waistband for a gun but BrunoD swing his wooden bat and connected on the man's temple. The sound of the maple finding its target, mocked someone opening a bottle of champagne. BrunoD kept his bat up ready to swing as the other two men were frozen in disbelief. "Who the fuck are you two with? Forget him, he's dead." BrunoD hit the man square in the head to ensure he would never get back up again. "Well?" The other two men both looked at each other before responding... "We're with Massarone's crew..." BrunoD swing another time and knocked out the guy speaking. He bludgeoned the man a few more times. Blood was splattered everywhere, including his own face. He wiped his mouth off before he opened it to speak. "The only reason why you're still standing is because I want you to go back and tell your fucking boss this is our territory." The last man standing got the courage to walk slowly to the exit, before he started running down the street, barely dodging the casual pedestrians. |
