I believe that in addition to slots, blackjack, roulette, and craps Texas hold 'em poker should be created. It seems like an obvious choice for the casinos. However, it would take more time to play then the other games.
I believe that our casinos would benefit from the addition of poker. It could be a popular choice because the dealer would not necessarily be a part of it, so a player would win money each hand.
Here's how I envision it:
You go to casino, and click play poker. However, you would have two options: Join existing game or Create game. Anyone could host a game.
I believe that a game could start once there is a minimum of 4 players. No more than 8 players could play one game. After every hand, players could opt to leave the game or continue playing. To join a certain game, you would need to pay a buy in fee possibly, say $50,000, which the casino would get as payment. I don't think chips used to symbolize money would be necessary when we could just easily use money as in the other games.
Maybe when clicking the Create game option you could invite people in your city to the game, similarly to how MUCs work. Example: Calogero has invited you to a hand of poker. Accept/Decline
I think the cards could be generated by using the same format as seen in blackjack, but obviously it would be more complicated and involved. I understand it would be tough to figure out rounds of betting would work, so maybe less players would be easier to manage.
As for betting, there could be minimum bets (say like $10,000) and maximum bets (maybe $250,000). Winner would win a large percentage of the pot, maybe the casino would keep 10-15% to ensure that it makes money. Standard rules would apply, like calling, raising, checking, and folding. The options would be all there in front of you, but maybe you would need to refresh the page a bit so you could see other players making decisions.
I think this is a decent idea, however, I realize it is probably more complicated than I imagine.
PROs: New creative casino game, way to gain more money for players and casino owners alike, more interactions with other players
CONs: Difficult to create, probably unnecessary considering we already have 4 casino games
I believe this is an interesting idea, however, it's obviously not completely thought out, so I would just be curious to know if people have any suggestions, and/or if they are for or against this proposition. |
