As a Veteran and one of many conflicts and a few wars I can tell you it is only about control and who can give you more money.

Sending prayers and blessings to Ukraine and all of us helping them out in this time of desperation.  No one deserves to go through this bs.  It's sad times watching the news and seeing all of the families no longer able to live "normal" lives.  

Russia is not like the rest of the world and Putin wants the ways of old reinstated. His rules His news His world.

It is bad enough they are jailing people who call it a "WAR" and not a military exercise

This is an ugly, horrendous situation. It’s genocide and infantacide on a scale that is unbelievable in its horror. It has to be brought to a halt. Destroying everything and everyone for a crazed egomaniac in the 21st century cannot continue.

So now we are seeing first hand of what is really happening in towns across Ukraine as Russian Troops retreat as Ukraine soldiers are taking back some of these small towns and seeing the carnage left behind.  Just so tragic what they are seeing now.  It's WWll all over again.  Mass graves, civilians with their hands tied behind their backs, shot in the back of their head and just left where they died right on the streets of that town.  Some were riding bicycles and were killed with the bike lying next to them.  All in civilian clothes.  

Putin, you are a piece of shit, scumbag.

Now he is relying on mercenaries and Hezbollah Syrian ISIS soldiers to help hold off the Ukrainians in the area of Dombass Ukraine.  

This guy will stoop to any level to win.

We have to, We MUST continue to help the Ukrainian people to stop this maniac crazy man who is stuck in the 1940's era.

My heart goes out to all Ukrainian people as well as Russian mothers and fathers who are losing their children in this senseless, unprovoked, WWll type of invasion.

It just keeps getting worse. The film of dead bodies of civilians laying in the street is more than shocking. Mans inhumanity to man is beyond my comprehension. This is war crimes and should be tried as such.

What a sick piece of shit. He must pay for his atrocities. 

Also, this should serve as a wake up call to the EU. Germany has the right idea by bumping their defense spending. I can tell you that the Baltic states + Poland do not think this war is so far away. The West must continue to support Ukraine with military and humanitarian aid. 

With no end in sight and sanctions issued slowly this war will last a lot longer than most people are expecting.  I fear before long more nations may step into this and cause Putin to double down and actually having China sending troops as support.

Grizzly, do they also have a right to execute civilians and bomb cities? You're buying into the propaganda machine. Remember, it was Georgia's fault too, right? 

Quite surprised to see a longer than one sentence post in support of Russia, anyone else?

I really can't see any defence of Russia right now, admittedly that may be due to lack of knowledge but what defence is there for this?

Would quite like a mail of anyone who can educate me on that front :)

I'm so damn proud of Ukraine.  They are really taking it to the Russian marines. The Russians are pulling out all the stops now.  Rumors of chemicals in Mariupol where it was said a Russian drone had flown over them and suddenly they are having trouble breathing.  Putin want's this victory fast so it's no surprise to me.  This has not been confirmed yet but it sure is suspicious.  Now Ukraine heavily damaged a Russian flag ship in the Black sea so badly that the ship had to be evacuated and is now being towed back to port.  Just saw another video of Ukraine leading the offensive on Russia's new tank and heavy equipment column heading into Dombass essentially halting it's progress.  Saw another video or Ukraine shilling an area that drones discovered Russian Marines hunkered down in a heavily treed area then suddenly Russian marines were running for their lives.  Just amazing footage.  I hope they can keep it coming.  It gives me hope.

Everyone is so opinionated. I guess it's easy to be when all you have is propaganda from both sides. I'm not saying Russia is in the right, but there is a lot more to it then just "Russia invaded a smaller country so that is wrong." nuance is important and if you don't know the history of the Donbas region imo you shouldn't be just watching the news and thinking you know whats actually going on there.

Looks like it's going to start ramping up again in the near future. Still holding out hope Ukraine can launch a really neat counter-offensive and shove them off their backs.

So I was curious about how Russians felt in Russia and was hoping I could find some that were still posting on youtube.  I found a few and watched their VLOG.  It was very interesting.  Russia has locked down on social media but they can bypass it using a VPN so they are not in the dark completely yet.  One shows a young girl going around asking Russians on the street if they knew the war was happening.  They are yes and some were pro Russia and most were against it.  Many if not all of them said they have family, brothers and sisters and parents, friends, etc. that lived in Ukraine and were very worried for them.  Many don't fact check the news there and are not in the now but only what Russia TV wants them to be.  She talks about the Russian propaganda machine and that it is in full force there.

She hopes youtube won't be blocked altho the government there did say they were going to block youtube too.  I subscribed to all 3 that I watched just to see if they post any new videos.
