Rough morning in Vegas. Started by: Enzo on Apr 18, '22 18:05

Enzo sat at a coffee shop on the Las Vegas Strip. Hearing a gunshot he didn’t think twice, this is the way of life. Continuing to sip his coffee hearing yet another gunshot, only to hear what sounded rapid shoot next. A Tommy gun so early in the morning? He was thinking to himself. Seeing a car drive fast by with a bunch of men hanging off it, caught his eye, standing up and looking out the window. His bodyguard came running into the shop bleeding from the arm and Johnny the head of his security.

Causing a little panic in the shop people began to run out. His bodyguard looked at him, “Boss we are being hit. We have no clue who, they just rolled up and started opening fire.”

“Alright just relax let's get you patched up.” Looked around for something, but he could not find anything. “You know where to go, I will try and figure out what’s going on.”

Enzo’s bodyguard went out the back, and instinctively he pulled his hood up over his head as he stepped out the front door of the coffee shop. As he looked to the left he noticed what looked to be a mobster, but could barely see as he was surrounded by other men protecting him. They charged Enzo.

The fight began, Enzo ran up to one of the men slicing his hand holding the gun and stabbing his gut wounding him pretty badly. The next man came at him and put his hidden blade through the man’s hand. Fighting his way through the guards trying to make it to their boss, as a car drove by he heard a gunshot, and the man he was going for dropped to the ground. The guards scattered like roaches being hit with light.

Moving his hands back to sheath the blades he grabbed a cig from inside his coat pocket. Lighting it up thinking, “Shit I better get back to the LA.” Johnny was sweating from catching up to Enzo.

Enzo continues to make his way to the airport, every time he tries to hail a cab they just whip past him. “You fucker.” He shouts as the cab flies by. Still walking with his cigarette in his mouth he noticed yet another group of men surrounding one man. Looking at the building next to the group he smiles and takes a run for it, running up the side of the wall drawing his hidden blades from his sleeves.

Coming down hard onto two guards' faces with his hidden blades smiling as he slowly stood back up looking at the group. “Ello boys.” In turn, he starts his attack again, moving for the man in front and getting him in the side. One of the men behind him begins to draw a pistol and he uses the body of the man he just stabbed to block the bullet. Pushing the body onto the man and sweeping the legs of the man next to him, as he fell Enzo sticks him in the chest with his hidden blade.

Johnny was occupied with another group and Enzo had just finished what he thought was the last one. Turned to go help Johnny there was a gunshot and Enzo looked down. Noticed blood coming from his side. He dropped to his knees. Johnny shot the guy he was fighting and turned to shoot the other man. Johnny popped him in the chest as he ran to grab Enzo rushing him to the hospital.

Grace normally spent her days walking the streets of the world, it was as if she had another half to herself that drew her here, time and time again. Walking a familiar path, taking in the sights and speeches, mostly keeping to herself. This morning when she woke up she knew she'd find herself out walking, this strange compulsion of hers. Which is why when it all kicked off she was shocked that something was actually happening and had nothing to do with egos or pizza.

The gunshots started, slowly at first and then building to a crescendo that made Grace wonder if it was time for her to say her goodbyes to the world. She instinctively ducked behind a park bench before mentally berating herself, as if this was going to provide any sort of actual cover. Looking around frantically she spotted a door opening up, and a group of men coming out. This was her chance. Perhaps they were the targets? She didn't know. But she got up and started running, more shots firing. There was a stinging sensation and her body jerked as a bullet grazed her, but it didn't matter. The inside of that building was life.

Making her way past the group her eyes realized it was Enzo and his bodyguards but it wasn't yet being properly communicated to her brain. Safety of the indoors was made, and she collapsed into the cafe, scrambling to find cover certain that they were after her. Panic breaths left her body, her head swimming, the pain of the injury not yet registering.

Grace's ears were filled with the thundering of her pulse, the rapid exhalations and then the staccato of endless gunshots that seemed never-ending. This was her reality of the moment, and it was absolute hell.

Trying to calm herself she wondered at her ability to dig around inside people's bodies for bullets, stich together skin as if it were a petticoat and just deal with some grim realities so why was this fucking with her brain so much. She focused on what she knew. She focused on her breathing. She tried to push out the sound of the gunshots, or were they fading. She hoped they were. Her pulse was still thumping away far too quickly for her liking, but Grace slowly regained her faculties about herself and that's when the realization of what her eyes had seen hit her brain. "Shit, Enzo!"

She got up and moving behind the counter she apologized to the terrified workers and then grabbed a stack of white cleaning cloths and then quickly exited the establishment. "I'll pay you back," Grace said to them as she was leaving, knowing full well she'd forget. But that wasn't important. What was important was making sure Enzo was alright. She'd either look foolish or she'd look like a god damn saint.

Heading in the direction the men had gone, by her best estimate, Grace kept her eyes peeled just in time to see Enzo fly up the side of the building and then somehow back down before dispatching of two men. Her mouth was wide open, it was a murderous ballet of sorts and she was starting to feel quite foolish thinking somehow this man who did not know gravity existed would need her help at all.

But then he fell to his knees. What she assumed was a bodyguard picked up his body and started hightailing it out of there and Grace gripped her skirts in one hand, the white towels in the other and gave chase, trying to shout and get the large man's attention, "Stop! I'm a doctor, I can help!" all the while dodging pedestrians, cars and puddles of lord knows what that littered the streets.

Johnny stopped in his tracks as he heard what sounded like a woman shouting that she was a doctor. He turned to see this woman dashing towards them, she must have seen what had happened. Johnny took a moment to think if this was the right decision. He looked down at Enzo, in and out of consciousness. He grits his teeth as more blood left Enzo's body, "Fuck." He said and booked it towards Grace. Johnny had been a loyal bodyguard to Enzo for a long time the fact that had gotten shot on his watch started to eat at him. Out of nowhere, the sky got dark and it started to rain. A heavy sound of thunder crackled over his head as he got to the woman.

"It looks like he got hit in the side. I don't know what to do or how to explain what happened. We heard the gunshots he stepped out and we got into this scruff. I saw things I have never seen before with him. If you move his arms be careful it looks as if there is a blade that shoots out of his sleeve, but I don't know how it is triggered." Johnny looked at the woman trying to see where he may have known her from before.
