4 hours of protection Started by: Melvin on Apr 27, '22 12:05

Melvin is walking down the street minding his OWN damn business when suddenly, from out of freaking NOWHERE, someone tries to shoot him!

WHAAAAAAAAAAAT!?!? exclaims Melvin.  He is obviously rattled by the futile attempt on his life by the weakling would-be assassin, fearful for his life.  But what happened next was something extraordinary.  Another shot was taken at him but the bullet bounced off his chest like Superman!!!

The first Superman comic book debuted in 1938, very era-specific to the times we all live in here in this universe, so no trying to get Melvin's story swept from the streets please.

Drunk off his own invincibility, Melvin reclines back with his hands crossed behind his head leisurely for the next four hours as the bloodshed continues all around him, the bodies piling up...

To hit a man like Melvin, a man needs to be in prime physical condition. He needs speed, reflexes, the resilience and spiritual might that only follows physical perfection. His would-be assassin was none of these things. One might assume, from the nature of his failure, that he is hunchbacked and cross-eyed, in a matter of speaking (that is to say, he is). I pity this toadish man and his wet, webbed fingers. Godspeed you, mighty Melvin.

Whilst this man is not the #1 VIP Poster, an honour currently reserved for TitusFlavio, I have to respect his ability to survive the bullets which have been coming his way. Well done, Melvin. A happy moment amidst the carnage, for this has been a truly tragic day for all of us, and for TitusFlavio personally. My magnificent steed, Yaoyorozu has lost his namesake. We will remember him and the organised crime which necessitated the tribute.

Melvin lets out a relaxed "ahhhhh" as he reclines back on the sidewalk.  Bullet-riddled bodies drop to the ground like dogshit, women and men alike screaming in fear, agony, and despair.  But not Melvin though.  He doesn't have a care in the world.  He whistles a merry tune as Tommygun fire rings out on the street while Dons and Godfather fall dead at Melvin's crossed feet.

Rest in Peace, Melvin. You weren't just one of us; you were better. In a world of geese, honking and shitting wherever they stand, you were a swan.
