Check for the bulge. (Profile showing gun status) Started by: Squishy on Apr 29, '22 01:36

There is a new addition to profiles.  You can now see if a user is strapped.  There are different tiers of confidence, which is explained below:

Definitely - 100% they have a gun.

Very Likely - They don't have a gun currently, but with their saved insta petties, they could.

Somewhat Likely - They don't have a gun currently, but with their saved insta petties, they could within 5 additional petties.

Likely - They don't have a gun currently, but with their saved insta petties, they could in less than 10 additional petties.

Somewhat Unlikely - They don't have a gun currently, but with their saved insta petties, in less than 14 additional petties.

Very Unlikely - They don't have a gun currently, but with their saved insta petties, they could in less than 19 additional petties.

Extremely Unlikely - They don't have a gun currently, but with their saved insta petties, they could in less than 24 additional petties.

Definitely Not - They don't have a gun currently, but with their saved insta petties, they still need 25 or more.

The current way this is written is temporary, it may get edited to only trigger during rebuild, or possibly be removed.

(If you are in a crew you may give up your gun, we will be adding a feature shortly so that if you are not in a crew you can toss it too)

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip

How do we disable this in our profiles?

Does it only show if you are in the same district? If your checking for a bulge you cant do it from the other side of the country.

How does one not in a crew surrender their gun?

This almost encourages and aids the current people warring to find proers.

This puts more power to those over 24 hours old at current status

At this time you can't.

At this time it shows up everywhere.

This is answered in the initial post.

This almost encourages and aids the current people warring to find proers.

This also limits the deathtoll on people who want to stay out of it.

This puts more power to those over 24 hours old at current status

You are going to have to further explain this.

Report Post Tip

if those currently pruning people over 24 hours old can see if a person has been saving insta's then it doesnt matter if the person is innocent or guilty to them they become a threat. they can basically see how active someone has been "behind the keyboard". because it is possible to always keep your units at 5 units but it is now not possible to hide your actual activity because even if you get rid of a gun it still will show how likely/quickly they could become a threat, removing guesswork.

also i like the benefit of being able to disable it on profiles now. it should however be auto opt-out as opposed to auto opt-in as some people may not know about the feature. auto opt-out allows it to be used for those who wish to use it.

to be clear i like where this feature is going it just needs some fleshing out :)

Report Post Tip

one thing i just thought of that would make it more feasible would be the option to disable it be overridden to opt-in when the person viewing the other person is in the same district as the person they are looking at. maybe have it still be vague at like somewhat likely vs somewhat unlikely cause in person when looking at someone it is often easier to spot a gun.

Report Post Tip

This sounds interesting but I am not entirely sure I feel comfortable with this. Makes it way too easy to figure out who could be pro'ing or not in wars.

Report Post Tip

There needs to be a way to disable..............................

Report Post Tip
Kitt, there is, in the options page, you literally read it upon logging in. Before posting this lol.
Report Post Tip

Just curious - why are insta-felonies not included in this math?

Report Post Tip

Insta-Felonies don't help you earn your gun Clifford.

Report Post Tip

Insta felonies and petties both contribute towards your negative gun count.

Report Post Tip

Well shit. Has it always been like that?
