Despite a lifetime of substantial academic achievement, I cannot shake off the reputation of being a bit of and idiot. In a bid to finally scotch these rumours, I feel that bragging about the documentaries that we have seen is a way forward. So, please say what your favourite documentary is, and why. If you want me to review your choice, just say. I'll start. I like When You're Strange, about The Doors. The front man of that band was like me of celtic origin, handsome, a wordsmith, and prone to making a public spectacle of himself. So I overly identify with him. But Jim also had the establishment against him, as do I. I've been to Paris, and America, same as Jim. The links are almost endless. Jim got a lot of attention, but the respect and adulation was posthumous. Let's hope my dues arrive whilst still this side of Pere LaChaise. What's your favourite documentary? |
