Siegel Flicks

Movies for all the family.

In the main town centre of Bricktown, Detroit was a newly refurbished building that had taken over in the place of a building that had stood empty for many years. The clean, whitened sign stood clearly overhead spelling the name “Siegel Flicks”, a new cinema owned and planned by Ben-Siegel, a local to the area who hoped to bring more entertainment and something different to the usual businesses in the area - something for all the family.

Outside the main door stood a glass frame on the newly painted, cream coloured brickwork to the building, inside a large sheet of paper displayed the films being shown within. People huddled around to see what they could watch, all for the competitive, and lowest price around of $4.30 per ticket. Snacks sold within for additional prices to lure in more customers.

Entrance Hall

Insise the entrance hall stood a single ticket booth, an elderly man inside collecting money and puncturing tickets for people to enter the cinema to the film of their choice. A friendly gentleman, often giving advice on what to see depending on the preference of the customers - and very rarely wrong in what he chooses.

Main Hall

Inside the main hall were the snack stands, the smell of fresh popcorn filling the air as soon as a person would walk in. Popcorn just one of many treats, with ice creams and chocolate bars also on the menu, as well as a variety of popular drinks. Toilets also on site for anyone who may desire to use them before, during or after their movie.

Screens 1 - 5

The screens were all set out the same, although some mirrored to their neighbour depending on local in the building. Seats at the front prioritised for those with disabilities or smaller children who may find it difficult to see with an adult sitting in front of them, a major issue Ben did not care to cater to.

At the back sat the private seats, saved for important persons, or friends of Ben’s, much like members or leader of his family. These seats had more leg room, and were set higher to avoid the issue of having someone sitting in front of them.

All screens had air blowing through out to keep things cool, although not to much that it’d make things to cold for the customers.

Opening Day.

It was opening day, the queue of customers at the door set a large smile to Ben’s face, not something he had imagined would happen on the first day of opening, but all the same, he was not to complain. He had sent a message around with fliers for people to know what was happening.

The doors opened and customers flooded in, money being exchanged for tickets for the movies people desired to see. Ben stood in the main hall, greeting customers and wishing them a good time in whatever they chose to watch.

Fuck. That flight was exhausting. Issei traded glances with people coming to this opening night. Thankful that his fame dwindled and he was no more mobbed or ravenously clawed at like he was a peace of meat.

Is this what the regular guys did? See movies? Well he guess that's what he was going to do.

Punching his ticket at the exit, he smiled at the elderly man with... too much of a smile atop his lips. Issei sighed before walking to the main hall, plus, what kind of movie was Alice in Wonderland? He really didn't understand what he was going to be seeing here.

"Sir! Sir!" Shit, fuck, glaring at the snacks vendors. The teen seemed to show an uncomfortable amount of teeth for disturbing him. Little shits had no respect for their elders.

"Yes, kid?" Issei growled and watched as the teen seemed to piss himself before chancing a glance at the boards behind him. Hm, now what to eat, what to eat...

Eh, perhaps he was taking too long but who gives a fuck? It wasn't like he was holding anyone up was he?

"Sir, if you can, other people would like to order..." If it weren't for the stuttering mess te guy was, Issei would have taken pity. It was just sad, instead he smirks and takes his sweet time.

"Kid, come on. Be easy." Oh, he was a right bastard and he knew it too, but how could he be anything but? If he'd given some kindness, then Issei might have been a bit nicer.

Going back to running his eyes over the boards, he couldn't help but wonder, who else was waiting for snacks?

As Luna stood behind the seemingly impatient teen, she couldn't help but roll her eyes.

Her stomach was growling for sure, and judging by the look she earned from a lady passing by her, Luna wasn't the only one who could hear her tummy making weird sounds.

But even so, she could still wait. The teen needed to just shut up and wait their turn. Anyways, the seemingly long wait gave her time to think about what she wanted to eat.

She had gotten her teeth done a few weeks back, so she wanted to go easy on the sweets.

Icecream would be okay, she thought to herself. A brain freeze from the coldness would probably happen but it was better than biting into a crunchy bar. So while she had her vanilla icecream order in mind ready, she caught the smirk he had given to the teen.

The guy looked very cheeky. She wondered if he was seeing a movie with anyone - but he was kinda giving loner vibes anyway.

Mikhi was new in town, but hungry for the hustle. He had a little know how under his belt so that would definitely help. Just getting acquainted in his new surroundings he decided to take a small walk through the neighborhood. The scene was just as he pictured. A lot of mov'in and groov'in. The hustle never stopped, and that was just Mr. Musso's speed.  As he walked around the corner, he pulled out a freshly rolled cigar full of marijuana, lit it and hit it a few times. As he looks up he sees a cinema, Siegel Flicks. Walking over to the building he takes a look at the happenings before he entered.

"Maybe another day, I have a lot of business to get into"

Quadir was called to a meeting at the Siegel Flicks Cinema.  Quadir sat their watching dracula, the movie was not that scary to him but it was interesting.   He was called up by his boss to be there and to sit in the center of the joint.   He was met by his underboss who sat in front of him.  Then he was given a small piece of paper with an address and a name.   He was given direction, he needed to finish this job within forty eight hours.   The man is scheduled to be called to testify against friends of their's and that can't happen.   The boss wants it to look like a hit two shots to the back of the head and a c-note placed in his mouth.

Quadir finished the movie the man that sat in front of him left.  Quadir departed the cinema and walked across the street then he looked at the paper and then put it in his wallet and went about his way.

After having lunch, Ian decided to watch some movie as he had no work planned for the day. He bought a ticket for Dracula and some popcorn and soda to enjoy while watching the movie.

Inside the theatre, he sat down and the movie started. He watched through the entire movie before leaving. It was not bad and he was able to pass some time. The popcorn was pretty good as well.

Alcestis came through the entrance and made a beeline straight for the elderly man in the ticket booth.

"I don't know which movie to see," she told him, as if that was his fault. He just smiled at her, produced a ticket for The Prisoner of Zenda, punched a hole in it, and handed her the stub.

"You'll like that one. Hurry now, you have just enough time to get yourself a snack and find a seat before the picture starts."

Alcestis stared at him, how did he know she would like that movie? He seemed pretty confident, though, so she thanked him quietly and entered the main hall, where concessions were sold. Once she'd purchased SnoCaps and a small bag of popcorn, she went to theater number three and took a seat.

"Alright, movie, impress me," she said, then cursed when she realized she'd forgotten to get a Pepsi. Back to the main hall she went, then returned a couple minutes later only to find someone had taken her seat. Alcestis pretended to trip over the man's feet while trying to squeeze past him, her hand sliding quickly into and back out of his breast pocket.

"You deserved that," she muttered, finding a new seat. She'd have to check later but she was pretty sure her little outing had just paid for itself.

Jurian had been feeling a little pent up lately. Of course, he knew the cause of it. It was that time of the month for him. No, not that time of the month. The time of the month when you need a break to completely relax and unwind after weeks of slugging away. A sort of emotional recharge. That time of the month. After all, all work and no play makes Jurian a dull boy.

Thus, Jurian and a couple of his men were in the bustling city of Detroit. There was so much life and enjoyment here that it made for a great escape from the west. As they moved along, Jurian caught a glance at the cinema lightbox and quickly reacted by stopping his men.

“We should see a movie.”

The guys nodded in agreement with their faces etched in excitement. You wouldn’t guess the kill count between the two of them. Perhaps enjoyment for the small things grounds our humanity.

“Three tickets to see Dracula.”

The money exchange was made and Jurian along with the rest of the gang moved beyond the entrance hall. In the main hall, there were snacks to purchase. The air was scented with a thick waft of buttery popcorn at this point. Jurian made the easy choice of getting a large box of that. With his box of popcorn, his Coke, the guys and their goodies, everything was set for them to enjoy one of the most anticipated flicks this year.
