So, there they were on the big day. Reunited with the lil SassyPearZombie restored to life by SassyPeach’s love. But they had a big problem. They needed new costumes because their cowboy and cowgirl outfits were destroyed when they took a dunk in the apple bobbing tub. And of course, being Halloween and all, the shops were all sold out of anything good.

But SassyPeach being the intellectual and quick-thinking peach that he is, came up with a plan to get them the best costumes ever. He had decided to make them at home!

It took him most of the daylight, but SassyPeach really outdid himself with his last-minute last-ditch effort to get him and his daughter ready for the most important holiday of the year for them. They wanted candy and they wanted it badly, and Halloween was the only way they could get so much so quickly. Though SassyPeach had been saving up for the after-Halloween candy sale too because those deals would be too much to pass on too, but free is free and trick or treating gave them both a certain type of pleasure that no one else could experience or describe.

So, with Peach working on the costumes all day and a good portion of the afternoon, Pear decided she’d work on their spooky candy baskets, which in all inevitability would get ditched for plastic garbage bags when the load became too much, but at least for the first hour of the night, she wanted to look pretty with her father, and she started gluing some sequins and drawing scary faces on two pumpkin buckets, while he slaved away in the garage on their costumes.

He was finishing up the project and SassyPearZombie was so excited but first they decided to go have dinner before the big reveal. They both said grace at the table. SassyPeach ate his usual milk and can of tuna fish from the compost bin next door, and Pear chomped down on some fresh pear slices gleefully.

*drops some candy in the pumpkin baskets*

And it was time for the big reveal of all of SassyPeach’s work. SassyPeach took his lil pear into the garage, and showed her what he made with all his hard effort and work and time.

He slathered her in paint and covered himself as well. He added some other touches to really make it look realistic, and he handed his little girl a candle to hold.

The SassyPumpkins got their pumpkin baskets and walked out on the street. SassyPear complained that she looked like an orange, but daddy SassyPeach was proud of his work.

They walked out onto the streets of their small town, and went up to the first door. They were given some candy corn and were told how great their costumes were. SassyPeach was so proud that he and his daughter would be the talk of the town for the most realistic costumes.

They ventured to a dozen houses before they took a rest on a bench by the town park. They were supposed to wait for their friends to join them to raid the candy on the other side of the town, where there were more houses, and loose fingered candy givers. SassyPear was so excited, and SassyPeach brushed a leaf off of her face.

So the SassyPeachPumpkin and his little Pumpkette sat on the bench waiting. FutureStealer arrived dressed as a wizard, in a purple robe and with a sparkly wand and a bottle of tequila. Cheetara showed up too shortly after wearing a Santa’s helper outfit and was carrying a red velvet bag for her candy. They were all grinning and talking about all the candy that they would get. They would have waited longer but there was a spooky wind that made them decide that the park was too scary to stay in and they figured they’d run into their other friends as they made their way to the houses.

Onward, they walked in the middle of the streets spotting houses. They stopped at FrenchieHorn’s house and since she didn’t answer the door, they took her mailbox. They made it to Alucard’s house and were given raisins. He was dressed as a silly aardvark. The next house they went to was quiet’s, and of course she gave them olives. She was dressed as a doctor lady with a stethoscope and gloves. And after that, they went to Vidal’s house and they all got scared of his costume and ran away.

The group was disappointed with the trashy treats they had received, and decided to go to the gas station to buy some expired eggs. After they egged and toilet papered the houses, they continued onto another house, but they didn’t know whose it was. It was falling apart a bit, and dark inside except for the flickering of a candle in the window. SassyPeach knocked, and an old lady's withered voice told them to come inside…
